They are accurate as this app and control method are unreliable and inconsistent. Even reconnecting each time is hit and miss. Daikin ignores this feedback. At its financial peril as I’d suggest shop elsewhere if this aspect was important to you which in the IOT age, it is increasingly becoming. They now sell another device however still were selling this and not updating it. Penny wise, pound foolish. ### 1/5 — Behind the times - what about automation? *2018-12-17, version 1.3* 1 star because it does actually work, if a bit unreliable at times. However, this app and the controller needs to get with the times. Should support home automation with any and all of google home, Alexa and apple home as well. Takes seconds for options to be applied and they sometimes revert. Timed on/off sometimes doesn’t work. Save time and just stand up and walk to the panel. App is so out of date it’s not funny!! Get your act together Daikin people pay money to have wifi controllers on their unit for a reason so do your part and keep your app up to date. Doesn't connect straight away have to close app sometimes 4 times till it works. Last update didn't fix any problems. For a multi million $ company I'm pretty sure you can spend a bit on your app program so customers can be happy. It's like pocket change to you guys. Struggles to connect to the air con and if it finally does can drop out then not connect again. Now trying to reconnect it after changing a home modem simply does not work. $600 down the drain. Won’t buy a daikin again. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very good to use *2016-08-03, version 1.1* I bought the wifi unit for my Daikin ducted AC as an alternative control instead of getting another controller installed. I am very impressed with it as it allows me to access my AC from anywhere. Sometimes has issues connecting with this app but gets connected after a few tries. Now I can't imagine not having this app as it is so convenient to control the AC from my phone. ### 5/5 — Pleasantly surprised *2016-01-20, version 1.1* I bought the BRP15A61 unit on-line and installed it myself in 10 minutes. Instructions were clear and the Skyfi app connected through WiFi fine. I have a 11 year old Daikin AC so I wasn't even sure this system would work. I was expecting long delays between changing settings but they are between 1-2 seconds on average. Works fine via 4G connection too. I need to use another app for zone control as I use another brand of zoning system (Zonemaster Airtouch) but the Skyfi app and hardware work great. ### 4/5 — Suggestion *2018-08-22, version 1.3* Instead of having the quick on and off selection in hours. Can I suggest being able to select an actual time (eg: 0600 or 1800) instead of trying to work out how many hours until the time I want it to turn on or off. ### 4/5 — Simple and slow but effective *2016-04-24, version 1.1* It's a pretty clunky application, but for what I need it for it works well. The ability to turn the a/c on (or off) when away from home is great - ditto when (lazily) in bed half asleep. It takes some time to establish the connection, but this is understandable given what it is trying to do from afar. I don't need an instant response when away from home, and if I am at home I walk over to the unit. Keep perspective on what it is and you'll be satisfied. ### 4/5 — Missing multi-period timer *2016-02-24, version 1.1* Awesome application, but a multi-period timer function for the day will leverage the customer experience extremely. Appreciate if the team could provide an update. ### 4/5 — Expensive but worth it *2016-01-10, version 1.1* I love this app. Yes it could do with an update and yes you sometimes have to leave the app running for a few extra seconds to make sure your action has taken effect such as setting the timer or changing rooms or even temperature but on those stinking hot days and I'm stuck at work, I adore that fact I can turn it on for my dog or set the timer so I get home to a cool house or even that I don't have to get out of bed to turn it on or off in the middle of the night. ### 4/5 — Sad/Now happy. *2015-07-28, version 1.1* For a few hundred dollars I would expect more. Rarely works. Nearly two years with out an update. No wonder it is poor. I will be seeking my money back. My review update. Local support excellent. Daikin tech support. Not good. The remote control unit replaced. Have to say it does work rather well now. Both at home and when quite a distance from home. Very handy if your away and know your coming home to a hot or cold house and can just turn it on from anywhere. But the app seriously needs an update. Just lately it sometimes take forever to connect.
