## What is Daily Bread?

Introducing Daily Bread: a cookbook you share with the people you cook for.

Get recipes in fast. Paste a link from TikTok, YouTube, or any recipe site, share straight from another app, paste a wall of text from ChatGPT or Notes, or scan a handwritten card with the built-in document scanner. Daily Bread reads it into ingredients and steps for you to check and save.

Keep it yours. Shelve recipes into collections, or don't. Sort your shelves by size, name, or what you added to most recently, and pin the ones that matter. Pick your cookbook's paper, print, and accent so friends see your shelf in your colors.

Share with friends, not the internet. Friends see your public recipes and can save an editable copy to their own cookbook, credit trail included. Hide anything you'd rather keep to yourself.

Talk about dinner. Message a friend or a group and send a recipe straight into the conversation.

Missing a photo? Daily Bread can generate an appetizing cover from the recipe itself.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.1 — 2026-09-29

Typing in a recipe by hand is faster and friendlier.

- Save whenever you're ready: a recipe only needs a name. Calories and macros are optional, and if the name is missing Daily Bread tells you and takes you straight to it.
- Arrow keys above the keyboard: hop left, right, up and down through the form. Skip the amount or unit whenever you like, and arrow down past the last ingredient or step to add another.
- Tap Next to move to the next field; at the end of a list it starts a new ingredient or step for you.
- Tap anywhere to put the keyboard away.
- The field you're typing in stays in view above the keyboard.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-09-27

Your shopping list now walks the store with you.

- Aisle by aisle: your list is sorted the way a grocery store is laid out. Produce comes first, then bakery, pantry, baking, dairy and frozen, so you can shop in one pass.
- Put it where your store keeps it: press and hold any item to move it to another aisle. Daily Bread remembers for next time, on your phone and on the web.
- Long recipe names now show in full, on your recipe cards, on your shopping list and at the top of every recipe.
- Notifications are more reliable across devices, and signing out on one device no longer affects your others.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-09-21

A quiet update that helps us decide what to cook up next.

- Daily Bread now notes which screens and buttons get used, so we can spend our time on the parts of the kitchen you actually use. No ads, nothing sold, and it never follows you into other apps.
- Settings got a fresh coat that matches the rest of our apps.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-19

Plan what you are cooking, then shop for it in one trip.

- Shopping list. Tap Add to shopping list on any recipe, yours or a friend's, and its ingredients land on one list. The same ingredient adds up across recipes, and every line says which recipes it is for. Find it behind the basket at the top of your cookbook.
- Check things off as you shop, type in extras like paper towels, and send the list to anyone as plain text.
- Cook a half, double, two and a half, or triple batch. Pick a size above the ingredients and every amount updates, along with how many it makes.
- One Tom in Chats. Every chat with Tom now folds under his name; tap to see them all, or start a new one right there.
- Name any chat, even one with a single friend, and everyone in it sees the new name. Tap the dots on a chat, or swipe it, to rename it, leave it, or delete a chat with Tom.
- Photos in chats show up faster.
- Show what you are typing. Every password field now has an eye.
- Change your password from Settings, in its own row.
- Confirm your email. If you signed up with an email and password, we will ask you to click the link we sent.
- Passwords are now at least eight characters. Your current one keeps working.
- When importing or scanning a recipe cannot reach the assistant, Daily Bread says so plainly instead of showing a server error.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-16

Meet Tom, your AI chef.

- Ask Tom for dinner ideas in Chats. Tell him what you have or what you are craving, and he sends back a recipe you can review and save.
- Tom can change your own recipes too. Ask him to make one dairy-free, spicier, or sized for two, then look over his changes before saving. Each topic gets its own chat, so you can come back weeks later.
- Recipe history. See every change to a recipe, who or what made it, and bring back an earlier version with one tap.
- Amounts read like a real recipe card: 1/2 cup, 1 1/4 tsp, never 0.5.
- Share a recipe with a friend in Daily Bread, or send it anywhere as a recipe card image with a link to the app.
- Your name and photo now come with your account, so they match across Daily Bread and its sibling apps. Signing up is shorter, too.
