I’m not sure if the paper is this bad but now I see why it was so cheap for two years! Truly sad! ### 1/5 — App crashes and no longer works *2015-09-30, version 1.1.0* Can somebody please fix this app? It will not even load and just shuts down after a few seconds. Time to cancel my subscription because I can't read the news. ### 2/5 — What’s new? Ads! *2020-09-19, version 5.5* The latest update now includes many, many ads. Scanning down the column of stories, every 3rd story is followed by an ad. And if you want to find recent news, don’t look under “Top Stories” - look under “Happening Now.” Also, if you are looking at the obituaries, don’t be surprised to be interrupted by a pop-up ad. Update - interesting that the day after this review appeared, the ads disappeared from the news. Things that make you go “hmmmm...” Update - 3/24/18 Well, the latest update brings the Comet app on par with the “big boys” - the southeast Louisiana TV station apps. An ad is now firmly anchored to the bottom of each page, and when scrolling, a “floating” ad shows up about every ten news items. One improvement: you can now make use of a pull-down menu to directly access whatever section you wish to view. Update - 3/15/19 Still not bad. Just one thing: if you want to see current news, choose “News” from the drop down menu. Otherwise you will see mostly sports. Update - 11/17/19 Here it is the day after the state election for governor and other offices. Not a word - not one word - concerning the election results in the news sections. Lots of sports, though, of course. Update - 5/24/20 Local news has all but disappeared. “Top Stories” and “News” sections are nearly identical. Contain mostly State and National stories. Take note - most of the glowing reviews for this app are from years ago, not recent. Update - 9/18/20 This app has not been updated in a year.
