Where did the staff learn to spell? Is proofreading a lost art? I’m often perplexed by the things that are determined to be newsworthy, like the lady on Dorcliff Heights with subpar Halloween decorations offering free photo opportunities. Then when something really important happens, like Marathon Petroleum slashing 2000 jobs, it takes the Independent two days to report on it. I’ve returned to my hometown after twenty three years, and in that time the Independent has truly become birdcage material. ### 3/5 — Too many log in requests *2023-10-26* Keeps asking for log in details when reading articles from app (not when reading e-edition) ### 4/5 — Review *2024-01-09* Great paper an reading ### 4/5 — Easy to maneuver *2021-02-18* I enjoy reading the paper and like the easy way of doing it online before I get up for my day. ### 4/5 — Live News and Home Delivery *2020-11-29* I can look at Live News a few times and then it wants me to login to my account. I already have a subscription to online. That is annoying. Also since I stopped home delivery, I miss out on all the extra inserts. I would have kept home delivery, but my carrier put my paper on the driveway and sometimes under my car. ### 4/5 — Crashes on iOS v13.1 *2019-10-04* App was working well until the upgrade to iOS 13 was released. Now will launch on iPhone but crashes almost immediately. Unusable until patched/repaired. (Note: App is working on iPad) UPDATE to this review: Deleted the app, rebooted iPhone, and reinstalled from the App Store. After logging back into my account the iPhone app is working again.
