### 3/5 — Landscape mode on Iphone Please.

*2026-07-08, version 2.3.5*

I love using this app on my Ipad with a keyboard. I want to start using it more on my iphone and just found out that it doesnt support landscape mode while typing/writing on mobile. Please add landscape support for mobile🙏🏾.

### 4/5 — Fun for sharing short pieces, needs an algorithm

*2026-04-15, version 2.3.3*

The free version of this app is actually really good. They don’t shove AI into your face at every turn (although they have it in the paid option if you’re into that) and the prompts are great and really help with creating a simple writing habit especially if you’re a beginner and need something easy to keep up with. I think this works really well because of the added motivation of people being able to read your work and leave feedback if you want it. That being said, the “people being able to read your work” part of the app would work much better if THERE WAS AN ALGORITHM that was able to recommend people pieces they’d be interested in reading and improved the visibility of your published pieces. Because after you post something, after a few days it’s just never going to be read again because it disappears into the ethers of the past posts, being shoved into the shadows in the back of the app by the brand new pieces, which then go through the exact same thing. And it’s really frustrating. So yeah it’s an okay app but it would be absolutely AMAZING with an algorithm. Please implement asap!!

### 2/5 — Buyer Beware

*2026-03-18, version 2.3.2*

The concept of the app is good, but a recent bug wiped out my data on the iPad . I can still access the app from the website so I thankfully did not lose my work. No way to contact support. The support page from the App Store is a 404. I’d recommend looking for an app that has decent user support.

### 4/5 — Not recommended for new authors.

*2026-02-24, version 2.3.0*

You have to pay $100 or do a subscription to free write, and write what comes from your mind. I just wanted to be a author 😫

### 2/5 — Boo Ai

*2026-02-12, version 2.3.0*

Don’t use AI in your app

### 5/5 — Oh my stars

*2026-01-24, version 2.2.3*

This app is incredible, it offers so many varieties of prompts and even allows you to pick which genres you’re more interested in seeing. There’s no limit to how many prompts you can use a day allowing you to put ideas down the second you get them. I also liked the fact that you can put in a book idea and it will provide prompts to help develop your idea and plot. Definitely will use this forever and if I could give this more than five stars I would.

### 5/5 — If you want to be a writer, get it.

*2025-12-31, version 2.2.1*

I’ve fallen in love with this app; it’s helped me immensely on my writing journey. I seriously don’t know where I would be without it. A great community and incredible prompts that inspire your creative mind. Ryan, the creator, is exceptional, and so are the team at daily prompts.

### 4/5 — This app is great!

*2025-12-17, version 2.2.1*

I love this app so much. It such a great way to get what’s in your mind into writing, and the daily reminders are great for keeping a consistent writing schedule. Also, being able to anonymously put your writing out there for others to read and comment on helps me improve a lot. The only reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because a lot of features, such as free writing, accessing more prompts, and ai assistance requires you to pay a premium.

There are no ads, and it really feels like the developers care about users. If free account users get a little more access to tools, this app will be perfect!

### 5/5 — The best app I have ever downloaded

*2025-12-14, version 2.2.1*

So to start off, this is the best app I ever decided to download, I got it about 2 years ago and have never even thought of deleting it. I have over 500 writings and over 200 followers and have become greatly confident in my writing. The developer is very kind and helpful as well, helping me through email for over a week to troubleshoot a problem I caused. The community is amazing and uplifting and while there is no constructive criticism or feedback I enjoy just knowing that people like my work. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. A phenomenal app that everyone should at least try, and not everything is locked behind paywalls like most apps. So thank you Ryan and devs for creating this app.

### 3/5 — Great app but..

*2025-12-09, version 2.2.1*

I think that another app like this should be made, like instead of being forced to buy premium to even make more poems/stories, it wouldn’t have to be something you pay for, but there could be optional things, like direct messages or something, just having a app like daily prompt but more free would be nice

### 5/5 — OMG!

*2025-11-29, version 2.2.1*

This is a great app! I used to hate writing, but wanted to improve because I wanted tone more creative. I thought I’d touch up on this app maybe once or twice a week, but now it’s like my favorite pastime. I have also seen so much improvement in my skills. Also premium is an option if you want some more features, but you are completely fine without it too! I love the community on here, and how you can get comments, and give feedback to other writers. If you are looking for a new hobby, or to just to improve your current writing skills this is perfect for you!

### 5/5 — Such a helpful app

*2025-10-21, version 2.1.1*

In my time of using Daily Prompt I’ve seen my writings improve significantly. Being able to post pieces for peer review, have prompts of all sorts for inspiration or ideas. The various writing challenges and obstacles you can take on. It all just makes for a better author. The competitions they host create a healthy competition, the community enjoys each piece and comes together to judge a winner. And they do actually pay out winners. All in all this app has dramatically improved my writing ability and confidence.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2025-10-04, version 2.1.0*

I really like this app because it helps me to become an overall better writer. My only downside is that you’re basically limited to zero without premium.

### 5/5 — Great Writing App!

*2025-09-19, version 2.1.0*

This is a great app with a wonderful community. I’m just getting started and already have formed better habits for my writing. Highly suggest this app for everyone, from the hobbyist to the professional!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t bother unless you want to pay money.

*2026-08-06, version 2.3.7*

I was really exited to try this because it seemed like the perfect way to work on my writing skills!! Prompts, feedback from fellow writers, all of the good stuff, and in a really fun and engaging way! But EVERYTHING is locked behind a paywall, so I guess I’m sticking with Google Docs for now. In theory– perfect. For my wallet– not so much. Boo!

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2026-02-25, version 2.3.0*

Beware!!!! This app will charge you $20.00 immediately and will sell your email so you’ll get spam messages and then you can never cancel. I am still trying to cancel this subscription after weeks of having it.

### 1/5 — So many paywalls

*2026-02-18, version 2.3.0*

Took me 20 mins to figure out how to create a profile without signing up for a renewing subscription

### 1/5 — ai

*2026-01-24, version 2.2.3*

i loved this app and have been using it for a while, but lately it’s been integrating ai more and more. sometimes text prompts (that stand alone just fine without an image) are accompanied by low quality ai slop images. as an app for writers making original and unique creations, i find it somewhat strange that it’s including images like this that rip off other artists, because stories are art, so isn’t this a space for artists to post their works? also, the concept of “ai feedback” for writing is so absurd to me. this is an app for posting your writing, and isn’t the whole point of the comment section to be for feedback from real human people who actually understand stories, instead of an algorithm that adjusts a writers unique style to make a work conform to the same standards of the novels it’s stolen data from and regurgitated over and over? it doesn’t actually understand stories and the feelings within them. it can’t make anything unique or original. there are plenty of other resources to go to for as much genuine, valuable human feedback on your writing as you could want, and it’s completely free. there are so many other issues with ai that i haven’t even mentioned here, too, and it’s harmful in so many ways to both writers and literally everyone else. it really shouldn’t be a feature like this

### 1/5 — Crashing problem

*2026-01-01, version 2.2.1*

I am working on a new iPad and the app is constantly crashing.

### 1/5 — Writing prompts review

*2025-09-11, version 2.0.1*

This isn’t a platform to express everything on it I tell you that much I was banned today because I wrote one of my poems I had. And it was why I was thinking being expressive is what I was doing and got banned if you are thinking about doing creative writing don’t be on this platform it’s unfair and biased

### 1/5 — Scam?

*2025-08-14, version 2.0.0*

I’ve been using this app for a year and have enjoyed it, but it recently premium expired. When I opened the app, there was an offer for half off. Clicked the link, paid, was charged full price of $89 instead of $44.50. As an added bonus, I still have no access to the app, receiving a note to sign back up for premium.

Clicked the request for customer support and it took me to the “404 page not found!” So I’m $89 poorer and can’t even access the product.

### 1/5 — You have to pay for free write wth?!!!

*2025-08-10, version 1.19.2*

I was looking for a place to share my work and maybe find like minded writers. What I found was nickeling and diming . A place you cant free write for free. Ridiculous!!!! I understand making money if I wanted to use your prompts or anything extra. Free writing though should be fee!! What a joke!!!!

### 1/5 — This app is good but

*2025-07-04, version 1.18.10*

Every thing is pay to start I personally think it’s the worst ever

### 1/5 — boring

*2025-07-02, version 1.18.5*

It's not me. I had hope it would provide something more that what I viewed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it! One problem.

*2026-07-04, version 2.3.5*

I love this app! It’s so good there are so many prompts to choose from! I am having on problem tho. When I’m writing and I want to fix something that I wrote it won’t let me go back to it without deleting everything after I wrote that or I have to exit out of that prompt and go back to it, I don’t know if it’s my phone or the app but I just wanted to let you know!

### 5/5 — Great App To Improve Writing Skills

*2026-06-12, version 2.3.5*

The app provides multiple prompts and other features that are essential to write stories or poems. #loveit

### 5/5 — Helpful, Fun and Welcoming community

*2026-05-29, version 2.3.5*

Love the prompts and competitions and that you can get feedback on your writing :)

### 5/5 — I definitely recommend this app

*2026-05-12, version 2.3.4*

I got the app two days ago. I have been dealing with pretty severe writers block and I just couldn’t seem to get past it and this app has been nothing but helpful. I’d give it 1000 out of 1000 stars if I could.

### 5/5 — Best Thing Ever

*2026-05-06, version 2.3.3*

This thing is the coolest app ever. It’s gotten me to write things I never would have, ever.

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful and fun!

*2026-05-04, version 2.3.4*

I love this app so much. It’s only been two hours since downloading, and I’ve already written three poems. However, the one thing that I wish for is atleast one tag that’s for when you write a personal story, because I feel “drama” and the other tags don’t really fit my poems

### 5/5 — Good prompts 👏🏽👏🏽

*2026-04-12, version 2.3.3*

Inspiration & ideas

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-02-21, version 2.3.0*

I love this app. It’s the only one that keeps me going with writing sometimes when I’m in a rut and helps me to practice, inspires me and gives me more confidence. The community features are great and you can get feedback on your work quite easily. Definitely recommend

### 5/5 — Worth the price

*2026-01-31, version 2.2.3*

Don’t sit around bored, when you could have a sounding board, for ideas bold and fledgling, stop your silly hedging

### 5/5 — LOVER

*2026-01-28, version 2.2.3*

I found love on your platform.
