### 3/5 — Daily record review

*2016-08-07, version 4.1.1*

The Daily Record has good local Morris County coverage.

### 3/5 — App is Great, the Daily Record is the problem

*2016-01-02, version 2.5.7*

I like the App, the layout is great it is easy to navigate. What I have a problem with is the DR making you subscribe to get news....I don't want to pay to find out news, or have to login to get the news.....just give it to me.

The DR....the world could end on Tuesday, it wouldn't be in the DR until Friday

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Old News

*2021-10-07, version 6.5.9*

Infrequent updates

### 1/5 — A Feeble App

*2021-10-05, version 6.5.9*

The online Daily Record app is as close to useless as it can be. Ads cover content - when it’s even there. A sad end to another local news outlet.

### 1/5 — App won’t work correctly

*2020-05-23, version 5.24.3*

I am a Morris County transplant and thought that I would enjoy reading the paper that I read all my life, and I truly would.
I subscribed and every time that I try to log on to read it, I get stuck in this cycle of not being recognized and trying to re-enter my password. Then, the only alleged “fix” that is there- says it’s not working.

A very disappointing experience.

### 1/5 — Pathetic excuse for "news"

*2016-05-12, version 2.5.7*

All fluff, not much news.
And biased. Not the newspaper it once was. Many better online resources; few from print publications.

### 1/5 — Greedy publication

*2014-11-30, version 2.0.3*

I no longer see pics. Probably just trying to shake me for money. You don't get the full version.

### 1/5 — Invisible app

*2014-07-19, version 2.0.3*

I downloaded the app. I'm prompted to open it, but it's nowhere on my phone. Just great. ZERO stars.

### 2/5 — You forgot iPhones

*2025-07-07, version 8.1.0*

The new enewspaper does not allow viewing in landscape on the iPhone. Makes viewing the comics impossible.

### 3/5 — Good local news but slanted.

*2025-07-27, version 8.1.0*

Good place to keep in touch with local news. However if you are not left leaning it’s difficult to read the articles that have any political reference. The information that is presented as news is suspect and needs to be evaluated. Otherwise pretty good coverage for local info.

### 3/5 — Would like a way to read thru entire edition like a newspaper

*2019-06-09, version 5.16.1*

Like I did on old iPad....Is this possible?

### 3/5 — Good except...

*2017-04-15, version 4.12.1*

The local news is up to date much more than other local apps. The issue is every couple of months or so I can no longer access unless I pay a fee so I have to delete the app and re-install. Can't understand why I'm given it for free for all that time then you ask me to pay.

### 5/5 — Obituaries

*2021-09-13, version 6.5.9*

You no longer include them. As that is the sole reason I subscribe I am cancelling my subscription today.
The NJ HERALD APP STILL REPORTS OBITS

### 5/5 — Finally, a change for the better

*2021-02-10, version 6.3.0*

For too long, the Black, Latinx, Immigrant, LGBTQIA, and Muslim communities in Morris County were ignored by the Daily Record. The few times there was reporting on Dover’s Latinx population it was about crime. Same with Morristown’s Black community or Boonton’s Muslim community. Offensive terms like “illegal immigrants” were used in headlines. It was clear in the writing that many of the journalists and editors that worked for the Daily Record were white, male, and conservative. While the paper is still not representative of the diversity of our county or state, at least now there is some representation. The Daily Record’s coverage of the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Morris County was exemplary. I subscribed because of it! Now more than ever, it is the responsibility of the Daily Record, and all media, to accurately present facts and the diversity of our communities. Without that, racism, nativism, and the misinformation that led to the insurrection at the Capitol is left to fester. Keep improving!

### 5/5 — PHD

*2017-10-26, version 5.0.2*

The Daily Record is one of the top 4 papers in the state for Journalism, and Community issues! Outstanding local news and the same for national and international!

The Editorial Section shows strength and independent thinking on the issues of the day!
