## What is Daily Word Journey?

Daily Word Journey is a calm, local-first Bible app built for one purpose: helping you return to Scripture every day with enough structure to keep going.

Choose your Bible edition, pick your own journey start date, and the app will guide you through a personal 365-day reading path with real calendar dates, offline access, bookmarks, notes, highlights, read aloud, and optional daily reminders.

Study Companion adds an offline brief for each reading with estimated time, verse count, repeated themes, a memory-verse candidate, and reflection prompts.

You can now share a portable study brief built from the selected bundled Bible text.

Read Aloud, catch-up, progress map, streaks, plan re-anchor, bookmarks, notes, highlights, and study export are all polished for the 5.4 reading workflow.

Listen to Scripture with the new on-device Read Aloud — verse-by-verse highlighting, Lock Screen controls, voice and speed picker, and a sleep timer. Plus new reading plans (chronological, M'Cheyne, NT-only, 90/180/365), a reading-streak heatmap, shareable verse cards, and major accessibility gains.

Verse of the Day - open the app to a fresh, hand-picked verse every day, chosen deterministically so everyone sees the same passage on the same date.

Reading plan progress - your plan now tracks exactly where you stand: on track, how many readings you've missed, percent complete, and what's coming up next.

Catch-up view - fell behind? A dedicated catch-up screen gathers every missed reading in one place so you can get current without hunting.

Reading streaks - current and longest streaks reward consistency and keep you coming back day after day.

Study export - export your highlights and study notes to share or archive them outside the app.

Bookmarks - save any passage and jump back to it instantly from a new Bookmarks view.
