### 4/5 — LOVE this app.

*2026-03-18, version 1.25.7*

Makes time tracking so much easier. I have used for years. Thanks for making such an easy to use app!

### 4/5 — Great for Time Tracking

*2026-02-10, version 1.25.5*

I love the app and find it to be the easiest way of tracking my hours between different positions.

### 4/5 — Skvělý time tracker

*2026-02-05, version 1.25.5*

### 5/5 — Absolutely love this!

*2026-01-12, version 1.25.4*

I love this time tracking methodology!! And the app beautifully fits into it. Definitely beats all the second-counting apps/methods.

### 5/5 — Seamless Premium Experience

*2026-01-11, version 1.25.4*

This is a time tracking app that does LESS and I LOVE it. I already tested all the new ai-bloated overpriced apps that promise you they track everything but in the end you spend half of the day correcting the data that has been wrongfully tracked. Once you get how this app works, this is the best time-tracking experience I’ve ever had. I set myself the goal of tracking my time for 1 week in the new year (always a painful Google Sheets experience) but this made it SO EASY that I will most likely continue tracking my time over the whole year.

### 5/5 — For What it Is - It’s Perfect

*2026-01-07, version 1.25.4*

Easy tool that keeps time tracking simple and accurate

### 5/5 — Easily Tracks Time / Great support!

*2025-12-30, version 1.25.4*

When I lost a long-time time tracker due to OS upgrades, I needed a simple, easy-to-use, inexpensive time tracker to replace it. I use it as an entrepreneur to track client time. From the start, I’ve been able to communicate with the app designer whenever I had a question. I always get a prompt and helpful reply. The designer has always been open to suggestions and enhancements offered by its users. Over the years using it, it has only improved.

### 5/5 — Painless Time Tracking

*2025-12-23, version 1.25.4*

I have been using this app for years and it makes tracking where my time is spent really easy and allows for sensible configurations to fit all kinds of working styles.

### 5/5 — Best simple time tracker for macOS

*2025-12-23, version 1.25.4*

Easy input, edit categories, and see summaries by date. I’ve used a lot of time tracking apps and also develop software full-time at work. This is the best-in-class time tracker for macOS for usability and value: high ROI, low effort.

### 4/5 — Simple Tracker but needs some add’l features

*2025-12-01, version 1.25.1*

If you just need a simple tracker that pops up and reminds you to track, this is great, but the ability to see reports is a bit challenging and they could improve that. Specifically if you want to see hours spent on specific days for a customer, etc.

### 5/5 — Love Daily!

*2025-12-01, version 1.25.1*

Daily just pops up in the background and asks me what I’ve been doing. This is the perfect way for me to track my time. The problem with other programs for me is that I am bad about keeping track on my own and entering things. So systems that provide forms for me to track aren’t helpful… passive tracking like this is exactly what I need. I also find I am inherently more productive given that I know this will be popping up every 15 minutes. Also love that Daily doesn’t keep or share any personal data. Super happy with this app!

### 5/5 — Simple, Effective, Great

*2025-11-15, version 1.25.0*

Works as I would expect. No fluff and tight integration with the OS makes it a breeze to use. Helps me stay in a flow.

### 2/5 — There’s no free tier FYI

*2025-10-22, version 1.25.0*

Installed and walk through, immediately it mentions “license expired” you won’t be able to add a single timer without a plan, 2 star because at least they do have the trial, so there’s that. Personally I feel $7.99 a month is a bit steep for time tracking when lifetime is $99, shameless upsell, make the app $2.99 and I think as a consumer that pricing makes more sense.

### 5/5 — TechGirl

*2025-10-14, version 1.25.0*

Daily tracker is very useful of keeping track of what work I am doing to charge customers accurate.

### 4/5 — Helpful to understand how I use my time

*2025-10-13, version 1.25.0*

It simple and easy, which means I want to merge labels and data, rearrange as I learn more about how I want to present the results. I like it, it is helpful.

### 5/5 — Tracking myself and employees

*2025-10-03, version 1.25.0*

This time tracker is just amazing. I put this for my remote workers to track their time and exporting their whole month data to optimize work. Great for people that wants to measure their performance!

### 5/5 — Actually makes time tracking possible

*2025-09-23, version 1.25.0*

I have tried so many time trackers. I always stopped using them because they were just too cumbersome. Daily actually works. It also has a different effect: it kicks you out of whatever you’re doing right now and make you question whether this is what you set out to do. Hence, it is a good tool for fighting procrastination

### 3/5 — Constant popups distracting

*2025-09-15, version 1.25.0*

This app does decently in terms of what its functionality is, but would be much better if it tracked app usage or found some other way to track your time without being so intrusive.

### 5/5 — Stick with it

*2025-09-15*

This is the only time tracking app I have ever been able to stick to for longer than a week. And I have tried a lot of them.

I have adhd and struggle with maintaining routines/systems and Daily Hours & Time Tracker solves that problem for me.

I just set it to ask me what I’m doing every ten minutes, and it tracks everything for me.

The thing I like about it the most is that you can completely abandon the tool or leave it running without responding to it, and it will just ask you what you’ve been doing while you were gone. So there’s literally no pressure to even use the tool when it’s running (which I do).

It is so nice to be able to track my time and see where I need to improve my time management every week. This app is well worth the money, I am probably going to upgrade to the lifetime deal (if there is one).

Great job Daily team; this app has significantly improved my quality of life :)

### 5/5 — The time-tracking sidekick you actually want

*2025-09-14, version 1.25.0*

I run a business and switch hats several times every hour. Daily’s unobtrusive menu-bar popup that asks “What are you working on?” is genuinely brilliant — it’s quick to confirm a continuing task or type a client and pick from suggested items. That speed means I capture tiny fragments of work that used to disappear into “misc admin” and now appear as itemised, defensible line items when I invoice. My clients appreciate the transparency and I’m no longer leaving money on the table.

One real-world snag: when I leave my computer for an hour, Daily politely asks what I was doing when I return — lovely — but sometimes I did three different things in that hour. It would be massive if the app let me split that away period into multiple entries quickly (or propose splits based on recent activities, calendar events, or location). Mobile/watch handoff and a couple of handy templates would make it near-perfect.

Score: ★★★★★ (4.5 if I have to be picky — losing half a star only because my bike sessions and quick client chats sometimes get smooshed together)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — aggressivste App die ich kenne

*2025-08-26, version 1.24.3*

App geladen, nicht mal gestartet, nur den Monatspreis gesehen und damit kein Interesse mehr - und schon verfolgt dich die App tagelang in aggressivster Weise, um dich doch noch zum Abonnenten zu machen. Ekelhaft. Kein Storno-Button. Kein „Unsubscribe“, auch nicht in den Untermenüs

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-05-27, version 1.24.3*

Before I could even attempt some sort of operation, it told me “License Expired” which was silly, as I had no previous license, but even their “7 day Free Trial” was not available. DELETED!

### 1/5 — Expensive

*2025-04-07, version 1.1.2*

Very, very expensive

### 1/5 — Sent me to sign up on X

*2024-10-17, version 1.22.16*

I downloaded this app to keep me organized but as soon as it did, it opened a browser to X.com or whatever twitter is called now.

### 1/5 — Great App - Reports are WORTHLESS

*2024-06-20, version 1.22.16*

The reports are useless, which is the only reason I'm considering buying this. I've tried half a dozen different methods to extract the information I need, but none have worked. Why bother? Is the app simple to use? Yes, it is straightforward, and once you decide how to set up your groupings, you can make it even easier. But what's the point if you can't retrieve your data to showcase your work? I'm so disappointed.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2024-04-10, version 1.22.16*

Bait and switch with the FREE price. Once downloaded, an intrusive popup comes up every 20 minutes asking what project I'm working on.

### 1/5 — How do I cancel

*2024-02-05, version 1.0.3*

Hello - how do I cancel the trial? It automatically signed me up and I can’t see how to cancel before trial is up. I do not want to get charged $30 for this! Thank you for any assistance.

### 1/5 — Impossible to get rid of - stuck in a loop - FAIL

*2023-06-11, version 1.22.3*

I was just about to start my free 7-day trial when a question occurred to me, and I backed out. After the seven days expired, I have been getting two different popups every time I wake up my computer, exhorting me to buy the license.

Every. Time.

There is no straightforward way even to quit the app, let alone uninstall it. It will not go into Trash. This may be a function of Purchasus Interruptus but I don't care what it is. It is super unfriendly. I shouldn't have to actually research how to remove an app I don't want.

### 1/5 — Will not delete from my computer

*2023-05-10, version 1.22.2*

It automatically runs without being opened and because its always running, it will not let you delete the application. It says to please close the application in order to delete it and the application will not let you close out or delete it off of your computer and its driving me crazy!

### 1/5 — Deceptive pricing

*2023-04-20, version 1.22.2*

The app looks free, but when you try it out it gives you a trial license for 7 days. It's hard to find what the pricing is, but it's $30/year after that. The worst part is that they don't make it easy or clear how to cancel the trial.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app for multi tasking

*2026-07-08, version 1.25.10*

I love this app!

### 5/5 — Life saver

*2026-07-04*

This little application has reduced time entry from a seriously anxiety inducing task to just another thing to do. Yes, the popup can sometimes be annoying when it pops up at an inconvenient time on a not previously entered client and project, but I’ll take that all day everyday over the alternative of trying to reconstruct what I was doing.

I’ve tried more complex, AI driven, screen monitoring alternatives, and this nice simple approach just works better for me. And no, I’d prefer it didn’t try aim for never being annoying - keep it simple. History has shown I’ll forget to log if I’m not prodded to do so.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review! I’m glad to hear Daily helps.

If you ever have ideas for making Daily appear at more appropriate moments, or delaying a prompt in certain situations, without making it less proactive overall, I’d love to hear them.

### 5/5 — Time Saver that Tracks Time

*2026-07-01*

This is an ingenious little app that solves the annoying problem of managing and keeping a timesheet. This unobtrusive app does the heavy lifting for you and frees your mind and your time from the mundane drudgery of trying to remember what you worked on and noting it down. Set it up once with your preferences and a schedule and forget it; it will automatically run in the menu bar and pop up throughout the day to ask you what you are currently working on. Overtime, you’ll build your list of activities that you can access from a drop down menu. If you’re working on something new, simply create the task in the app and it will be available for future reference. I love it and highly recommend it if you want an accurate, low maintenance way to track your hours throughout the day and then have a printout of all your activities instantly. This syncs with iClouds and works flawlessly between laptops, Mac desktops, iPhones and iPads. 5 stars all the way.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review! Glad to read Daily is helpful!

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2026-06-30, version 1.25.9*

I was looking for a way to track my freelance and non-freelance hours that did not have an involved set-up process. Been using it for a couple weeks so far and it is great for the purpose. Adding additional categories was simple. The prompt pops up every twenty minutes, hit the check mark and get on with it. Catches all the time where you might have got distracted. Easy to go back and adjust if needed. Has been a very useful tool.

### 5/5 — Time tracking with no hassle

*2026-03-17, version 1.25.7*

It’s really incredible how simple this makes my life. Having something that checks in, rather than having to plan ahead or go back in my day is some true value. I looked elsewhere and didn’t find anything near it.

### 5/5 — 99% perfect

*2026-03-15*

I quickly paid for this. Does exactly what it needs to do, be annoying (but not overtly) and remind you to log time. Simple yet very useful set of settings. After using it for several months now I just set up the API connection so I could build a dashboard of my hours logged, pretty great. I work in peace now during the day knowing that my time is logged and accurate. The ONLY thing that might make this one percent better is if I could leave a little note with my log, so I could say what exactly I was just doing for the project I’m working on. This is debatable though - it might make clicking that check button slightly less straightforward, and thus more stressful. But I can see that being an optional add- log time without note. Regardless, highly highly recommend!

**Developer response:** Hey! Thanks for your review. Glad to read Daily is helpful. Leaving notes is something many others have been asking and I hope to make this available this year. Feel free to reach out to niels@dailytimetracking.com to discuss requirements. Best, Niels.

### 5/5 — An excellent work tracking app

*2026-02-09, version 1.25.5*

A helpful reminder tool to help keep you focused and accountable for the work you do! I love it.

### 5/5 — Convenient & Easy

*2026-02-01, version 1.25.4*

I am in a situation where due to disability insurance I *can* work up to -so-many-hours-per-month- in my own business. I’ve been using this to track time worked, to make sure I don’t accidentally go over (I transfer the data daily to an excel spreadsheet by hand). I set up a goal number of minimum-hours-per-month (about half the maximum) and this helps me track and balance my time.

### 5/5 — Developer admirably responsive to usability suggestions

*2026-01-29, version 1.25.4*

I have a complex multi-monitor setup and Niels at Daily went above and beyond to understand my concern. He then described a possible remedy now planned for an upcoming version, and it sounds great.

### 5/5 — What every self-employed person, developer, and creative should use to understand their time

*2026-01-15*

I was looking for something that would gently nudge me every 15 to 20 minutes and ask what I was working on. Not to create perfect billable reports, but to help me build an honest log of how my day actually gets spent.

I still use old-school kitchen timers for client billing. But too often I would reach the end of the day and think, "I didn’t bill anyone today," which is a pretty discouraging feeling. With this app, I can look back and see that even if I did not bill a client, I still spent real time working on things that mattered to my business or my personal life.

That visibility is huge for me. As someone who tends to be hard on myself, seeing categories of where my time actually went helps quiet the constant self-blame. A lot of the work I do is on new ventures or maintaining existing ones, and none of that shows up as billable time. Now I can see how much I am investing in each project and decide whether the financial return is worth the time.

This app has genuinely improved how I think about my workdays and my businesses, and it has had a positive impact on my mental health because of it.

THANK YOU for building this app!

**Developer response:** So great to read Daily is helpful, not just from a billing perspective, but also from a mental health perspective. Thanks for your review!
