## What is daily.dev?

daily.dev is where developers keep up with what's happening in tech. It pulls posts from 2,000+ blogs, newsletters and YouTube channels, and puts the ones developers are actually reading and upvoting into one feed, tuned to the tags you follow.

Lately that's a lot of AI: what changed in Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, new models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, AI agents, MCP, local LLMs with Ollama, and whatever vibe coding means this week. But it's just as much the rest of the job: open source, Linux, self-hosting, security, Rust, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, system design, game dev and career advice. Plus what shipped at GitHub, AWS, Cloudflare, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Vercel, the occasional outage postmortem, and memes.

HOW IT WORKS
• Your feed starts from your stack and adjusts as you read
• Every post has a TLDR, so you can skim first and open what's worth it
• Popular, Most Upvoted and Best Discussions show what everyone else is reading
• Happening Now is a quick read of today's headlines as they break
• Topic chips above the feed jump straight to AI, web dev, DevOps and more
• Hide tags, sources or whole formats (memes, listicles, opinion pieces) you don't care about
• Search posts, tags, sources, people and Squads

THE COMMUNITY PART
• Comments under every post, often more useful than the article
• Squads: public or private groups around a language, a framework, a company or your team
• Messages, polls, posting your own links, and upvotes that decide what rises
• A profile with your stack, your experience and a DevCard you can share
• Reputation, achievements, quests, leaderboards and a reading streak, if you're into that
• Awards and Cores if you want to tip someone for a great post

SAVE IT FOR LATER
• Bookmarks and Read it later with reminders, synced with the web app and the browser extension
• Reading history, for the article you skimmed on Tuesday and can't find
• Best-of archives by month and year for any topic
• The same account on the web, and in the Chrome and Edge extension that turns every new tab into your feed
• Dark or light mode, list or grid, a different app icon, and notifications only for what you pick

FOR YOUR AGENTS
daily.dev has a public API and an MCP server. Hook it up to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or VS Code and your agent can search what developers are reading, pull your feed and save bookmarks. There's a plugin marketplace too.

BRIEFINGS
Your first Presidential Briefing is free: a 3 to 5 minute AI summary of what changed in your corner of tech, split into must know, good to know and the critical take.

daily.dev Plus
Optional. Plus adds:
• Unlimited and scheduled briefings, in the app, by email or in Slack
• Clickbait Shield on every feed, which rewrites misleading titles so they say what the post is about
• Advanced custom feeds and keyword filters
• Bookmark folders and notes
• Titles and TLDRs auto-translated into 10 languages
• No ads, and higher API limits

daily.dev is free and open source, built in public at github.com/dailydotdev.

### 4/5 — Suggestion

*2026-09-20*

Including side swipe features for jumping between categories will make UX better

**Developer response:** Great idea, thanks! Swiping between categories is on our roadmap, so stay tuned.

### 1/5 — Buggy & Ads encroached

*2026-07-08*

If I had a dime for every time I saw an ad… it’s got more ads than a third class p*rn website. Don’t even get me started on the bugs.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the honest feedback. Ads are how we keep daily.dev free, and we only work with developer-focused advertisers. If you'd rather not see ads at all, daily.dev Plus is ad-free. On bugs: since July we've fixed links and media opening with no way back (versions 1.23 and 1.24). If something still breaks, the support link on this page reaches our team directly.

### 5/5 — Reliable and cordial dev team.

*2026-07-01*

This app had an unintended bug where it wasn’t working at all. Within the same day of me leaving a review saying it wasn’t working, these guys fixed the bug and responded to me.

Also this application is cool and is a great hub for SWE, Dev, and SOC Analyst social media.

**Developer response:** Apologies for that! I was a horrible bug. We solved it earlier today and hope to see you back 🙏

### 5/5 — Amazing Dev, Strategist, and even Design resources

*2026-06-29*

This app is my secret super-power. I connect it to my Claude AI agent so it has context on the latest dev stuff to surface to me in my daily briefing. I’m that one person on the team always sharing the latest stuff - If only they knew how I was doing it! Ehehehehehehe. Thanks Daily Dev!

**Developer response:** Your secret is safe with us. Wiring daily.dev into your agent for a daily briefing is a brilliant setup, and we love seeing it. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Not working at all

*2026-06-22*

Hi, I’m not certain if this was intended, but the application is showing the online splash screen and is completely inaccessible. Your splash screen tells me to download the app… while I’m in the app.

### 5/5 — awesome platform built by and for awesome devs

*2026-06-19*

awesome devs are building this platform, and awesome devs (like me) are using this platform daily. really cool way to stay up to date with current software engineering news, trends, patterns, and strategies🔥

**Developer response:** That’s very kind of you! Thanks 🙏

### 5/5 — Fantastic app to stay updated with latest Tech News

*2026-06-19*

I have been following daily from quite a few years and I must admit that over these years it has helped me to stay updated with the latest development in the IT field. I have set it up as the home page in google chrome and also in all my devices. It helps me to stay upto date. Highly recommended

### 5/5 — Solid app for developer news

*2026-06-18*

Keeps me up to date. The summary of the articles work well and helps me to get to the articles that I will genuinely find interesting.

### 3/5 — It’s okay

*2026-06-18*

The app is clearly built with some hybrid framework which makes the app not function like a native iOS app. This app is supposed to be for developers so you’d think they would put more attention to detail.

**Developer response:** Fair point, and it's the feedback we hear most from iOS developers. The app shares its core with our web app so features reach every platform at once, and we keep moving the parts that matter most to native: Apple and Google sign-in, in-app purchases, and a built-in browser with proper controls since 1.23. Thanks for holding us to a high bar.

### 5/5 — Great tool!!

*2026-06-18*

I use this nearly every day. It is one of the best ways to consume the latest trends in tech. I used to use the web app because the mobile was terrible. They have made a ton of improvements now and they have really knocked it out of the park.

**Developer response:** This one made our day. The mobile app used to be our weak spot, and we've put a lot of work into closing that gap. Thanks for coming back to it and telling us.
