## What is DailyVox?

DailyVox is a private voice journal that turns your spoken thoughts into a searchable diary with AI mood tracking — all 100% on-device. Speak your thoughts, and DailyVox transforms them into a living journal while building a digital twin that reflects your inner world.

YOUR VOICE, YOUR DIARY
Record your thoughts naturally with voice. DailyVox transcribes everything on-device using Apple's speech recognition - no servers, no uploads, no compromises. Your voice literally never leaves your phone.

YOUR DIGITAL TWIN
This is what makes DailyVox different. As you journal, DailyVox tracks and visualizes patterns in your life:

- Personal World Map: People, places, and topics you mention — and how they connect
- Mood Trends: See how your mood shifts across mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends
- Writing Patterns: When you journal, how much you write, your streaks and consistency
- Top Themes: The subjects that come up most in your entries, ranked by importance

Your twin grows with every entry, giving you a clearer picture of your journaling journey over time.

ASK YOUR TWIN (NEW)
Ask anything in your own words. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, your Twin answers with Apple's on-device model — grounded in your entries, every answer citing the exact entries it drew from. On every other iPhone, your question searches the journal by meaning and answers with your closest entries, quoted and dated. Either way: if you haven't written about it, DailyVox says so instead of guessing. The whole conversation happens on this iPhone.

MEMORY & YOUR DAY
- Search by meaning: find an entry by what you meant, not the exact words — "the day I decided to leave my job." Entirely on-device.
- A first learned trait: openness now comes from a small on-device model trained on real, consented human writing — and it never claims more confidence than it earned.
- Predictions say how sure they are: tentative, moderate, or strong. No prediction pretends to be an oracle.
- Your Day, off by default: DailyVox can read the kind of photos you took and the music you reached for — on-device — and turn each into a one-line note you keep or let go. Only derived labels; your photos and audio never leave this iPhone.

YOUR BODY, YOUR CONTEXT
With your permission, the Body Twin reads five signals on this iPhone — sleep, morning HRV, resting heart rate, steps, and mindful minutes — and freezes a small snapshot beside each entry, tagged with whether you were at rest or in motion:

- Review queue: every captured signal waits for you. Keep it or let it go — nothing reaches your Twin without your eyes on it
- Body whisper: one calm line of context before you speak ("Slept 5h 20m. Take a breath.")
- Health data stays on this iPhone: never uploaded, never in iCloud, wipeable anytime in Settings → Health

RICH JOURNALING
- Voice recording with real-time audio visualization
- Audio playback with scrubbing and speed control (0.5x-2x)
- Photo attachments (up to 5 per entry, stored on-device only)
- Search and filter your entire history; writing streaks and goals
- Mood tagging, starred entries, weekly summaries of your emotional arc
- Export to PDF, JSON, Markdown, CSV, or plain text

LOCK SCREEN & WIDGETS
Home and Lock Screen widgets: today's entry, streak, mood, and one-tap recording.

- Face ID / Touch ID app lock
- Password-protected encrypted backups (AES-256-GCM)

## Frequently asked questions about DailyVox

### Does DailyVox have ads?

No, DailyVox is ad-free. The app is completely free to use and does not contain any advertisements.

### How accurate is DailyVox's AI mood tracking?

DailyVox uses on-device AI to track mood trends. While the app provides insights into mood shifts, it's important to remember that AI-generated mood tracking is a supplementary tool and not a substitute for professional mental health assessment.

### Can I use DailyVox offline?

Yes, DailyVox is designed to function entirely on-device. This means you can record entries, transcribe them, and access your journal features even without an internet connection.

### What health data does DailyVox integrate with?

With your permission, DailyVox can integrate with five signals from your iPhone's Health app: sleep, morning HRV, resting heart rate, steps, and mindful minutes. This data is used to provide context for your journal entries.

### How is my data protected on DailyVox?

All your journal entries and transcriptions are processed and stored 100% on your device. Your voice data never leaves your phone, ensuring maximum privacy and security.

### What devices is DailyVox available on?

DailyVox is available on iPhone and iPad. It requires iOS 17.0 or later for full functionality, including Apple Intelligence features.

### How often is DailyVox updated?

The latest version of DailyVox is v1.10.0, last updated on August 12, 2026. Updates typically include new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes to enhance the user experience.

### Can I ask DailyVox questions about my journal entries?

Yes, you can ask your 'Twin' questions in your own words. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, your Twin answers using Apple's on-device model, citing exact entries. On other iPhones, it searches your journal by meaning and provides your closest entries.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### v1.10.0 — 2026-08-12

NEW
- The whole app is available in Spanish, French, German and Italian. It follows your iPhone's language automatically, so there is nothing to switch on.
- These four were chosen deliberately. Every DailyVox feature works fully in them, including search by meaning, which relies on on-device sentence embeddings that Apple provides for a limited set of languages. Shipping a language where search quietly stopped working would have been worse than waiting.

WORTH KNOWING
- Recording already worked in every language your iPhone can transcribe, and still does. This release changes the interface language, not what you can speak.
- Everything stays on your phone, as always. No cloud, no account, no telemetry.

### v1.9.0 — 2026-07-30

Your Twin can read its answers aloud.

NEW
- Tap "Read aloud" under any Twin reply and hear it instead of reading it. Choose the voice in Settings, Twin Voice - voices matching your region are listed first, and "Hear a sample" lets you compare before you commit. Off until you ask for it.
- DailyVox now offers the daily reminder when you finish setting up, instead of leaving it switched off several taps deep in Settings.

ACCESSIBILITY
- Text scales with your system text size. 138 places in the app ignored Accessibility, Display and Text Size entirely, and thirty-five of them were smaller than Apple's own minimum. They are all larger now, so this is a legibility fix for everyone, not only for people using larger text.
- The labels on your constellation are readable at last - they were drawn at 30% opacity and were effectively invisible.
- VoiceOver now announces your Twin Resolution score and which section you have selected, and the section picker no longer comes to rest with a word cut in half.

PRIVACY
- Speech is synthesized on this iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, and read-aloud never asks for a permission. Zero network calls, as always. The App Store label stays "Data Not Collected."

Still free. Still no accounts.

### v1.8.0 — 2026-07-26

Ask Your Twin, sharper.

NEW

Ask Your Twin recognizes far more of what you've actually journaled — questions about things in your entries get answered with dated citations far more reliably than before.
A gentler streak experience: your milestone celebration now shows once, at your true streak length — not on every visit.
Cleaner topic tags on your entries: everyday words like "today" and "morning" no longer show up as if they were something you journaled about.
Research pilot participants get a new one-tap feeling check-in right after recording, and an occasional plain "log your day" prompt.
RESEARCH

A small, consented research pilot: does your Twin actually know you? If you've journaled for a few weeks, a one-time invitation appears in the Twin tab — dismiss it and it never returns. Details at getdailyvox.com/research. The app itself collects nothing, as always.
PRIVACY

Everything above runs on this iPhone. Zero network calls. Nothing leaves your phone. The App Store label stays "Data Not Collected."
Still free. Still no accounts.

### v1.7.0 — 2026-07-20

Ask Your Twin, in your own words.

NEW
- Real conversations on Apple Intelligence iPhones: your Twin answers free-text questions with Apple's on-device model, grounded in your entries. Every answer shows "From your journal" citations — tap one to open the exact entry it drew from. An answer that can't cite its evidence never appears.
- Free-text questions on EVERY iPhone: no Apple Intelligence? Ask anyway. DailyVox searches your journal by meaning and answers with your closest entries, quoted and dated — or says plainly that you haven't written about it. No guessing, ever.
- Suggested follow-ups after each answer, and the classic question chips are still one tap away.
- Honest by construction: numbers only appear copied from your data, a hard week is reflected plainly rather than spun, and every conversational answer passes a groundedness check before you see it.

RESEARCH
- A small, consented research pilot: does your Twin actually know you? If you've journaled for a few weeks, a one-time invitation appears in the Twin tab — dismiss it and it never returns. Details at getdailyvox.com/research. The app itself collects nothing, as always.

PRIVACY
- The entire conversation runs on this iPhone with Apple's on-device model. Zero network calls. Nothing leaves your phone. The App Store label stays "Data Not Collected."

Still free. Still no accounts.

### v1.6 — 2026-07-19

Your Twin remembers you better.

NEW
- Search by meaning: find an entry by what you meant, not the exact words — "the day I decided to leave my job" works. Runs entirely on your iPhone.
- A first learned trait: openness now comes from a small on-device model trained on real, consented human writing — and it never claims more confidence than it earned.
- Predictions say how sure they are: every Twin prediction shows tentative, moderate, or strong. No prediction pretends to be an oracle.
- Your Day (Ambient), off by default: DailyVox can read the kind of photos you took and the music you reached for, on-device, and turn each into a one-line note. Every note waits for you to keep or let go — nothing reaches your Twin until you say so. Only derived labels are ever produced; your photos and audio never leave this iPhone.
- Spoken Words: teach DailyVox names it keeps mis-hearing (a child's name, say) so a correction sticks instead of coming back wrong.
- Sharper transcription on iOS 26 with Apple's new SpeechAnalyzer, the current recognizer as fallback on earlier iOS.

CHANGED
- iCloud sync is now off by default for new installs, matching the "your entries live on this iPhone" promise. Already syncing? You keep syncing — nothing stops.

FIXED
- Twin Resolution questions no longer cut off at one line.
- Whole-entry sentiment now reads every paragraph, not just the first.

Still free. Still no accounts. Still "Data Not Collected."
