## What is Daimoku Passbook?

The Daimoku is the source of life force; with every chant, our life wells up infinitely.

Daimoku Passbook is a practice journal made for the chanting and prayer of Soka Gakkai (SGI) members. From today onward, turn each day's chanting into visible progress, set a mighty vow, and advance toward victory—chant together, win together. In the shared struggle of comrades, we are never alone.

■ Chanting Log & Timer
A focused chanting timer that automatically records each session when you finish. Choose to display your progress by "time" or by "count" as you prefer, so your daily totals are clear at a glance and your growth is something you can witness.

■ Gongyo Recitation
Recite the Hoben and Jigage passages with kana or romaji shown for every character. Choose a horizontal or vertical layout and adjust the text size; open it mid-session and the timer keeps running.

■ Prayer Goals
Create, edit, reorder, and archive your prayer goals. Keep them private, or make them public to share with friends—turn faith into concrete wishes and action. On the chanting page you can choose which cards appear, drag to reorder them, and tap one to read it in full.

■ 1M Daimoku Challenge
Vow to chant a million daimoku and watch a 100-cell board fill in: every 10,000 chants lights one cell, right there on the chanting page. Each completed round is archived automatically as a keepsake.

■ Chanting Groups
Form chanting groups with friends and accumulate the group's chant count together. Set shared chanting items, see each member's contribution and presence, and unite the strength of the shared struggle.

■ Battle Partners & Group Chanting
Add fellow members as battle partners to encourage one another and share goals. While you chant, see others chanting at that very moment—not just friends, up to 5, and you choose how many—and get notified when a friend starts chanting. You are never alone on the path forward.

■ Community Feed
Share moments from your practice, reply to one another, like and bookmark posts. Attach photos or a video, and translate anything you can't read into your own language with one tap. Switch the feed between World and Friends, Latest and Popular. Community guidelines, reporting and blocking keep the space respectful.

■ Practice Achievement Share Card
Turn your chanting achievements into a beautiful card to share with family and friends. Pick your own stats period and include a QR code to download the app, inviting more people to chant along.

■ Daily Reminders & Anniversaries
Set daily chanting reminders (multiple reminders, on the days of the week you choose) and mark meaningful anniversaries, so your habit endures and its meaning lasts.

■ Dark Mode & Multiple Languages
Supports dark and light themes, and is available in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.

■ Try Without Signing In
Start as a guest to try the app, then link an account later to fully keep all your records.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.36.0 — 2026-09-27

• New app icon: a little lion chanting toward the sunrise, or toward the moon in dark mode — the sign-in screen shares the same scene
• A pixel lion now keeps you company on the chanting page: tap it for a little move, and it turns away to chant quietly with you
• Redesigned anniversaries: the next one gets a big card with pixel art, custom anniversaries are now free, and you choose how early they appear on the chanting page
• Pick a sky banner for your profile, or upload your own photo; the starry chanting background is now free in dark mode
• Premium's Dynamic Island and Lock Screen card is redesigned with the lion under the sun or moon, and clearly shows when you pause
• Sessions that run past midnight are saved to the day they started, and you can see and delete them in your records

### 1.35.0 — 2026-09-21

• Co-chanting now matches anyone chanting right now, not just partners — up to 5, you choose how many
• New illustrated animal avatars: 12 animals, 8 background colours; everyone without a photo gets one
• Anniversaries are now a card on the chanting page, shown only when one is within 7 days
• A session is saved only when you tap End: leave the app, or even close it, and it picks up where it was. Premium counts the whole time you were away, and shows the session in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen
• Fixed co-chanting carrying over after switching accounts, a crash when re-sorting the feed, and anniversary countdowns off by a day in some regions

### 1.34.0 — 2026-09-15

• We're now Daimoku Passbook ("Daimoku" on your home screen)
• The 1M Daimoku Challenge now flags its estimated pace; tap to measure yours
• The chanting page ad is now a card, not a fixed bottom banner
• Fixed chants saved when reopening the app not counting toward goals, and a paused timer restarting on its own
• Fixed the Create button cut off on small screens and a doubled "…" in long text
• Faster stats after chanting and less battery use when idle

### 1.33.0 — 2026-09-08

• New 1M Daimoku Challenge: a 100-cell board lights one cell per 10,000 chants
• New card settings on the chanting page: choose which cards show and reorder them
• Tap a prayer goal card for its photo and full text; the timer keeps running
• The timer now pauses when you leave the app — time away is no longer counted
• The countdown's background chime is gone; the in-app cue stays
• Fixed faint gold text in light mode and a glitch when returning to Records

### 1.32.0 — 2026-09-03

• New Gongyo page: Hoben and Jigage with kana or romaji, horizontal or vertical layout, any text size, even mid-session
• Countdown at zero no longer ends the session: chanting keeps going, tap the golden circle to dismiss the cue
• Fixed today's chant count not matching the stats page
• Fixed avatars stuck on the placeholder on flaky connections
• Fixed the feed tab going black before accepting the guidelines
