## What is Dainik?

Dainik shows the Hindu lunisolar calendar the way it is actually computed — from the true positions of the Sun and Moon, for your own city's sunrise.

THE MOON, AS IT REALLY IS
A real-time moon with the astronomically correct phase and orientation —
not a stock glyph. The same engine renders it on your iPhone, your
widgets, and your Apple Watch.

THE FULL PANCHANGA
• Tithi and paksha prevailing at your local sunrise — with the exact
  time each tithi, nakshatra, yoga, and karana ends
• Masa with correct adhika (intercalary) month handling
• Vikram Samvat and Shaka Samvat, with the 60-year samvatsara name
• Sunrise, sunset, and the day's nakshatra at a glance

FESTIVALS AND OBSERVANCES
Upcoming Ekadashi, Purnima, Amavasya, and major festivals — Diwali,

complications for your watch face and a dimmed Always-On Display mode.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Works fully offline. Your location is used on the device only — Dainik collects nothing, tracks nothing, and has no accounts.

Calculations use the Drik (true-position) method with the Lahiri ayanamsa, validated against established ephemerides across thousands of days. Regional conventions can cause a one-day difference for some observances; Dainik follows the tithi prevailing at local sunrise.

• 8 more languages — Dainik now speaks 11. Added Gujarati, Bangla, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Punjabi, Marathi, and Telugu, each in its own script and numerals.

• Moonrise & moonset — the day's Moon times now sit right alongside sunrise and sunset, on both the watch face and the iPhone home screen.

• Every Ekadashi by name — fasting days now show their traditional name (Devshayani, Yogini, Nirjala, and the rest). On the days the traditions observe apart, the day is marked Smarta or Vaishnava.

• Tithi reminders (iPhone) — get a notification for any tithi you choose, with your own lead time (up to a week ahead) and optional custom text.

• Fixes — corrected the weekday shown for locations at or west of UTC.
