I moved into a home with a danalock on the door. The instructions are rubbish. I can’t figure out how to pair it. Neither this app or the classic app help. This app forces you to make an account (for a Bluetooth door lock???!!) and when I try it just says error 504 gateway timeout. Absolute junk. ### 5/5 — Best *2026-05-10, version 5.2.2* Better than homekit ### 1/5 — Gone back to classic version *2025-10-31, version 3.0.1* After being prompted to update I gave it ago. After struggling for a week and having to constantly use our emergency key I’ve given up and gone back to the classic version. Set up is good but constantly fails to connect to the lock. It’s a shame maybe some firmware needs updating? ### 1/5 — Bad overall design *2025-04-28, version 3.0.1* I’m new to Danalock and coming from an August lock. The overall user interface and usability of the app is so bad. The hardware locks are beautifully designed, but this software needs a facelift in every way. ### 3/5 — Auto lock with Shortcuts. *2025-01-22, version 2.1.0* Download this App after auto lock being temperamental on the original App. By using the Apple Shortcuts and setting up an automation from guidance on Danalock web page this now works every time on Auto Unlock and so far seems solid. Vast improvement over using the App Auto Unlock feature. I do use this over a bridge so more reliably. They have tried to fix an important feature and they seem to have done it. ### 1/5 — Locked out - almost always *2025-01-06, version 2.1.0* We are constantly having to calibrate and pair this system. Too many times my kids are locked out - not reliable at all. It has been over a month and the support email came once with very generic instructions and they never responded to my following questions. Takes a minimum of 5 minutes to even acknowledge I’m outside the building so I can unlock the door. Do not recommend. ### 1/5 — Won’t show as locked *2024-08-19, version 1.2.0* I’ve tried running the calibration many times but when I lock the door through the app, it locks but shows as unlocked. The only way to show it as locked is to manually lock it.
