This is because there is no support on the back end. This app has been abandoned. The instructions on the app do not align with the nature of Danny’s products (calling for a reset button when there is none on my model). Even when working through the counter-intuitive process, it still doesn’t work and I get a fail notification. ### 1/5 — Update your app *2022-05-12* Portable air conditioner will not connect. I ended up using the Midea app which actually worked and allowed me to connect. ### 1/5 — The other Danby app works *2022-05-03* If you are having issues with this app, search the App Store and download the one called “Danby”. Thought this new app would work better, but I can’t even connect and now the old app won’t work either. Trash. Utter trash. Once you connect, it fails to load the AC unit in the app. Total garbage. During the setup process they don’t bother including/mentioning the password for the built-in hotspot. 12345678 for those wondering. 2. It’s limited to 2.4GHz 3. For 1hr I’ve been battling this thing and the app can’t find the AC unit even though my phone is connected to the built-in hotspot. 4. The QR codes on the unit don’t work. 5. Utterly devoid any level of decent Ui. Aside from that, the AC unit itself is fantastic! It will not recognize its own product and pair it on the correct network. Do yourself a favour after a quick google search there is a third party app called MSmarthome and it took quite literally 30 seconds to pair the ac unit and the functions work. Danby AC unit itself works good. Wouldn’t find the unit as nothing came up with Danby_AC_. I then saw the device net_AC… and did a search and found out it was the Danby with a password of 12345678. Went through all the instructions again, still unable to connect. You need to specifically select 2.4Ghz wifi network. (Perhaps have to dig into the router settings to see if you have 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz).Best feature is the timer in the app. It can be used just like an alarm on your phone. Multiple timers can be set to turn ON or Turn Off the ac. Timers can be repeated on any day of the week (just like setting up multiple alarms on an iphone). ### 3/5 — Good app but no Siri shortcut support *2021-06-06* App works fine and smooth, automations and schedules work good also but no support for shortcuts app please add ASAP. ### 2/5 — Glitchy *2026-07-22* Overlay fonts are interfering with name of unit and temperature. Often speed of fan isn't controlled or reasonably accurate. Temperature is off not sure where the app is getting outside temperature from. It does allow scheduling but overall there's poor documentation on features. Sadly the app has a long way to go before it sees its full potential.
