We are in our 60s and have been recreational ballroom dancers for over 20 years. Covid has shut down our dance club and we found we were getting rusty FAST. We do a little technique and a little fitness/cardio a few times a week. We both need modification at times but have found the lessons a big help. When things open up, we will be ready! There is a variety of dances and exercise classes to choose from. So many different styles. Love the way everyone interacts with each other. You pull us in and it just makes us feel good. Love the dance fusion class especially. Love it all. Doing a fantastic job. Angela Love the exercise videos. The new salsa video is great. Working the legs and butt. Those are my favorite. Would love more videos with dance like salsa and others dancing while exercising. Also like the cha cha. Great setup .. it has something for everyone. Such talent. Amazing! ### 5/5 — Best online ballroom instruction out there! *2021-11-04, version 7.205.1* If you are looking to learn or improve your ballroom dance skills at home, this is the only place I would trust. I’m currently a silver level competitor and lessons are extremely expensive. Even the incredible guests that come into my studio in town for workshops cannot provide what Dance and Co can for the money. They give top notch instruction, trust me, I’ve tried it all. They update it regularly and I’ve seen the progression of their services over the year. I am so thrilled they have made this available to us at such a great price. Ballroom instruction at this level is incredibly difficult to find. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I love Jenna, Max, Val and Katya (my personal favorites), for all your time and effort you’ve put into this. I especially love all the different dance styles and choices. I would however fix 2 very small things, and that would be to folder dances by catergory/level. Right now they are all mixed up different levels and different styles in the same folder. Can get very confusing and overwhelming when looking for a video. Would be amazing to easily find what i was looking for or to give the option to make your own folders in "my list". And the very last thing would be to have a rewind/forward button of 10-15 seconds again this makes it easier to rewind if i need to see the step again and easily catch back up where i left off. ### 5/5 — So much more than a "dance" app, this is a comprehensive body movement encyclopedia. *2021-06-24, version 6.300.1* I hesitated initially to purchase this app, as I already follow some online trainers and attend dance classes. I'm also a former personal trainer and coach, so I was a bit skeptical at first. This program is so comprehensive and offers so many fun, interesting and challenging different exercises that I just want to use it all day long. Any kind of dance you could want or imagine, as well as stretching routines, bodyweight exercise routines, tap, jazz, ballroom, ballet...is right here at your fingertips. You can pick a short program or a longer one. Work through a series, try different teachers. (They are all really great, by the way!). This app does it all and is worth every penny. They've thought of everything, constantly adding new material...these guys will work as hard as you do!! Get this app, it will make you smile every time you use it. I love all of the ways to interact with exercise & dancing. Peta & Max are so sweet together & I like Val’s no nonsense approach to teaching lessons. My only suggestion would be a soft shoe class. Always looking forward to new material💜 Aloha, Connie Carroll Honolulu, HI ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 2/5 — Limited classes & overpriced - Val & Maks are too much *2020-08-26, version 5.803.1* Overall: There are limited classes (maybe more classes will come later?) and totally NOT worth the price tag (seriously, during a pandemic, it’s totally unreasonable to charge so much). I’d pay that price for in-person group classes and this is virtual, pre-recorded...yeah, no thanks. Live with Val and Maks: Their live content isn’t interesting at all. They tend to be very “extra” (#fakeaf) and use moments to self-boast and glorify each others’ ‘greatness’. It gets real old real quick. It literally has no impact on my dance skills and makes me want to 🤮 App classes: Kiki & Koko are great dance instructors. Val & Maks’s classes are helpful too. Some good dance choreography to learn. As mentioned, there are limited classes once you learn all the choreography...and then it’s just a dead end. If you download the app, I recommend first fast-forwarding through the classes (because the classes are what you’re actually paying for since the other content is literally useless) and then decide if it’s worth hundreds of $$$. To me, it isn’t. If you cannot afford this, there are FREE apps and videos on YouTube teaching these moves. 🤘🏼 ### 3/5 — Not a workout app *2022-01-26, version 7.205.1* If you’re looking for workout videos. Don’t look here. They don’t encourage or teach proper technique or have well thought out work outs. They use not so positive language like “get a bikini body! Let’s lose weight!” Instead of the point of working out which is getting healthy and feeling healthy…. Also, add a weekly schedule ### 4/5 — Great app to learn and practice dance *2022-02-09, version 7.205.1* This is a gift of an app exactly at a time when I really really wanted to learn to dance despite the lack of dance lessons at affordable prices around me and of course COVID-19. What I would recommend is that the final routines be included as short snippets so one can just do them over and over without repeating full lesson.This would be just including the practice of steps learned to each major stopping point that can be played and replayed to practice and perfect.This is what we would likely do in a dance class or are you just repeat and repeat and repeat until you get it.If you were a fan of dancing with the stars and the cast members this is a great way to learn. Maybe it’s just me because I wish I could be on dancing with the stars but I don’t have the requisite stardom!
