## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-09-05

This update makes everyday studio work more reliable. Manual payments retain their reference when retried, currency entry preserves cents, and switching studios clears the previous studio’s information.

Front-desk staff can now reach their permitted inbox, student, and payment actions. Notification settings stay accurate when a request fails, and connection problems offer a clearer retry.

We also improved contrast, large-text layouts, button readability, and support for Reduce Motion on iPhone and iPad.

### 1.4 — 2026-09-03

Setting up a new studio.

Creating an account used to drop you straight into an empty
schedule. There is now a short setup — the name your students
see, your usual lesson length and rate, and the dances you
teach. It saves as you go, and you can skip it.

If you already have students, nothing changes. The app will
not ask you to set up a studio you are already running.

Signing in with Google.

The confirmation screen used to show a hostname belonging to
our database provider. It now shows dancerlab.com, which is
what you are actually signing in to.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-02

Evening fixes.

Several parts of the app treated the day as finished earlier
than it really is. From around 8pm, the rest of today could
quietly disappear — a student's remaining lessons, a teacher's
time off for that day, and the day a default pay period started.

Each of those now follows your studio's own timezone rather
than the server's.

Lesson reminders had the same fault. That one is already fixed
for everyone, including anyone still on 1.2, and needed no update.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-02

Favourite songs now play.

Paste an Apple Music link on a student's profile and hear a
thirty-second preview right in the app — no Apple Music
subscription needed. The full track stays one tap away in Music.
Album art appears alongside it, and pasting the link is now all
you have to do: the song name and artist fill themselves in.

Spotify links still work as links. Spotify doesn't publish
previews, so those songs have no play button.

A way back in from a forgotten password.

The sign-in screen now has "Forgot password?". Enter your email,
tap it, and a reset link arrives. Until now the only way to reset
one was on the website — which you had to already know about.

The empty screens have someone in them.

A day with no lessons, an inbox with nothing left, a roster
before your first student — these now show one of the studio's
own illustrations instead of a small grey icon. They step aside
at the larger accessibility text sizes so the words keep the room.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-01

Photos for your students, so your roster shows faces instead of initials.

Favourite songs on a student's profile — keep the music someone is working to as links to Apple Music or Spotify.

Tap a student's name on any lesson to open their profile.

The whole app now honours your iOS text size, right through the accessibility sizes, and reflows instead of squashing when text gets large.

A refreshed set of buttons, and a new opening as the logo assembles itself.

Fixes: the Today screen no longer shows tomorrow's lessons in the evening, and long studio names are no longer cut off.
