### 4/5 — Good app(but u had few problems)

*2025-09-08*

Very cool app helps writing for lazy people like I am and challenging. My problem is when you write a lot of words for example more than 1500 this is quite uncomfortable cause you have to scroll down to see text. Also I recently have written text 1600 + and did that in time but that did lag so I lost it :<
But mostly this is very good free app.

### 5/5 — Does wonders for writers block!

*2025-01-19, version 2.4*

This app is truly amazing for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. You can put how long you want to write for, and then just spill whatever comes to mind! I’ve had it for about a year, and have made some pretty decent progress with my writing time, and how quickly I can think of synonyms, antonyms, etc.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2024-12-24, version 2.4*

This app is simple, easy and so effective for getting what’s inside to come out whether it’s a riders block or a buried story. I also use it for audio writing because Its understands exactly what I say. I have had this on my phone for years and I must say it’s my most loved app! As well as Todoist, which keeps me completely organized. Give me something simple and effective that works and I am so so so happy.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2024-06-20, version 2.4*

This app has helped me so much with my writing. There’s only one or two little issues but nothing serious. The main issue is trying to move your cursor for typing without it deleting your work. But there’s not much you can do for that I don’t think.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2024-05-20, version 2.4*

I love this app and it motivates me to write a little bit every night so during the day I can really grind and finish the stories I have in mind. The only concerns I have is - Reminder to save work when you go back to it - Adding a sign in feature so I can continue my progress on other devices! This would also be a great website or app on the computer but it’s great over all!!

### 3/5 — Good idea but not for Apple Pencil

*2024-03-17*

The app doesn’t properly keep track of my writing when using the Scribble function, as it sometimes can get pretty close to deletion when it doesn’t detect my continuous writing as input. It should have an only note option in which no word will be transformed into text. Just detect if the pen is touching the iPad and producing pixel input. This way the app would be Apple Pencil friendly.

### 5/5 — It is good but

*2024-02-25, version 2.4*

I fink

### 5/5 — i feel revatilized by this app and the idea behind it.

*2024-02-10, version 2.4*

And that so often seems the case when i use it.

### 3/5 — It’s fine, but…

*2024-01-05*

Another review described exactly what just happened to me. How you can accidentally delete part of your work. So yeah. That’s my biggest complaint. The fact that it can happen without warning and that easily. I had no idea what happened and why more than half of my work was gone until I saw the other review explain it. Other than that it’s a really simple tool and easy to use. But yeah that incident really took me out of it. It would be nice if there was a warning before stuff gets deleted or if it wasn’t gone forever and only ended up in a recently deleted file. Like when you delete photos.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2023-08-21, version 2.4*

This app has helped me write so much!!

### 3/5 — Could be better…

*2023-08-15, version 2.4*

This game is awesome and all, because I want to be a writer when I grow up, and this is good practice. Except, they should add some tools like bold, italics, changing color of words, and changing the size of words. Please add these things. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Accurate Smooth Voice Recognition

*2023-07-17, version 2.4*

Will probably purchase if I find how to print out work!

### 5/5 — Writing

*2023-06-22, version 2.4*

I have always had writers block but as soon as the timer started I failed once, but then I tried again and was just flying with what I was writing.

### 3/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2023-05-29, version 2.4*

EDIT: there are a lot of glitches since updating my phone to IOS 16. It’s still functional, but very annoying (words will overlap, screen will jerk downwards—it’s all messy). I wish I could’ve gotten away with not updating longer, but my old phone became a brick and the new phone had iOS 16 pre installed. RIP, app.

Love this app and it works wonderfully. It’s similar to the website Fighter’s Block, which is basically what I was looking for in a writing app, except that the motivation to keep writing is stronger with this since you don’t want your work deleted. I also appreciate having a time goal rather than a word count goal, so that you can more easily commit to a writing session knowing how long it will take (and you can adjust the amount of time too, which I just learned recently!!!) Does not fix procrastination, though (hence me writing this review instead of using the app :P ) Only problem: word count is off. It counts contractions as two words, which is kind of annoying. But still a pretty great app, just an inaccurate estimator

### 5/5 — IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE ADHD etc…

*2023-05-12, version 2.4*

This is the best app to have ever been created, I enjoy writing I really do but I get so godforsaken sidetracked there is no making any progress whatsoever but with this app I find I have no other choice then to push thru and finish atleast 5 min writing segments btw I’m into songwriting, screenwriting, & much more nothing else in this world could have saved my passion like this has! Thanks a million!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 개열받네

*2026-04-19, version 3.3.1*

30분 쓰는데, 20분만 넘어가면 깜빡임. 짜증나서 대처하다가 날라감. 쫌 고치세요 열받으니까. 이정도 코딩도 못하면서 무슨 프로그램을 만듭니까?

### 1/5 — No, deleted it as soon as I got it

*2025-06-18, version 2.4*

It’s good for someone whose like doing a school assignment, but like I’m a young writer, which means I have to pause to go eat dinner, I have to do chores, I have to take breaks from my phone. And if I want to take a short break it deletes my work! Never in a million years would I consider using this for my writing. There should be an option to take a break!

### 1/5 — [update] squibler.io is this but no ads and browser based.

*2024-06-24, version 2.4*

As the title says, just go to squibler.io and utilize that browser based version of this exact thing without the terribly annoying unskipable ads and the dark pattern that is set up to try and solicit tips to bypass apples payment services that would surely refund you when you realize you’ve been manipulated into thinking you would pay for a non-ad version of the software.

Seriously, save yourself the pain all around.

Why I hated this app?:
Dark pattern behavior with their wording in the donating section. Written in a way that it references ads and may seem as though a donation would give you ad free access. I’m sure this is not the case though as there is no wording outright saying so. Absolutely absurd to make an app to help keep you on a train of thought only to offer it exclusively with ads that blast music in your face and make you lose that train of thought. And if that’s not bad enough they then try to trick you into giving them money on top of that. Will be looking for an alternative not so short sighted.

### 1/5 — Causes Anxiety

*2023-04-08, version 2.4*

I have anxiety and bad writers block and, I work so hard on my work and I got really upset when my work was destroyed. I wish it gave you a warning, it gives me more writers block because I’m constantly anxious that my work is gonna get deleted that its all I can focus on making it get ruined.

I truly don’t know how this can cause anything expect anxiety, and how it could help your writers block.

### 1/5 — Glitch

*2023-02-22, version 2.4*

Once you save the note, it glitches out. When I keep typing, the new text just overlays over previous text, and it’s illegible.

### 1/5 — I truly don't get it

*2022-08-03, version 2.4*

I have tried this 3 times, and in all three cases, it tells me I 'failed' and destroys my work. This is apparently because I took 3 seconds to wipe sand from my eyes? I had no idea that there was even a risk of having my writing destroyed. I just can't imagine anybody being 'helped' by the threat of destroying what is being created. It's normal to pause for a few seconds while writing. It's part of writing well. I am a huge fan of their "list of things to do" app, which is hilarious and fun, but I can't see this writing app as anything other than a self-crashing bicycle. One that is oddly proud of itself, no less!

### 1/5 — I wanted to badly to like it….but all of my work in it is gone

*2022-03-24, version 2.4*

I loved DangerNote when I first used it. I was on a roll writing an important piece for work, over a thousand words and nearly done! DangerNote said it was saving the work but when I reopened it to fact check the piece, nothing. Everything was gone. Now I need to start over on an even tighter deadline. So heartbroken and upset to have all of my work lost that DangerNote said it was saving…I would not recommend writing anything you want to save in this app.

### 1/5 — Cannot remove ads afterpaying

*2021-07-15, version 2.4*

First app I've seen where premium does not remove ads. Super annoying that we have to sit through an ad each time we use it...

### 2/5 — Great concept, bad crashes

*2023-06-20*

Look, it’s a good idea and it works very well. But man the technical issues suck.
The keyboard randomly stops working and everything is gone, the text gets layed over itself if you reach the end of the visible page and the cursor jumps all over the text eventually. This is the third time I lost fifteen minutes of writing thanks to the app crashing on me. Annoying to no end, please fix this!

### 2/5 — Ahhh

*2023-03-12, version 2.4*

I love it, but I have auto correct and I was trying to do the thing where you select all of the text and it wouldn’t let me. It also kept folding in on itself. And it made me loose all of my work because it was bugging out :(

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Trailblazing

*2026-07-21, version 3.3.6*

I love using danger notes and the fact that it is 100% free is such a yes for me. I was typing this thinking the fire of délétion was behind me lol.

### 5/5 — Fast Drafting Boot Camp

*2026-06-11, version 3.3.5*

If you’re serious about your writing and trying to get into actual good habits, this is your app. The only thing I would add is a streak counter. No rewards or anything, personally I always think that should be dealers choice. But just super basic metrics so people can be honest about what they’re doing what their time. And I’m people.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-06-03, version 3.3.4*

Use it every day, why not

### 5/5 — it’s motivating

*2026-03-21, version 2.4*

i really like the way this works. it gets me out of the endless loop of “i can’t write this down until it’s perfect in my head but it’ll never be perfect until i get the bad stuff out.” without the hyperfixation on one sentence running through my head and clogging up all the ram i can actually think of new ideas. crazy right? anyway my only caveat is i’m not actually going to use this app because i also found an app called “unprompted” that has the same feature and also has a lot of unique writing prompts to start from. if unprompted starts bombarding me with ads or lagging so much it barely works, i’m using danger notes.

### 5/5 — Amazing app for writers in a pinch

*2026-01-01, version 2.4*

This app? Truly amazing. I'm a writer and it totally got me out of my writers block im grateful ☺️

### 5/5 — Lil hack I found>:)

*2025-12-16, version 2.4*

Okay so guys if you’re about to give this app one star because it doesn’t let you have a time to think, don’t do it. If you add a space and delete it repeatedly, it thinks you’re writing and you have a moment to think about what to write next. Also I accidentally closed the app on 104 words so now I’ll never forgive myself:D

### 5/5 — How do we like the app

*2025-11-24, version 2.4*

We personally think the app is really good, keeps us writing and we loves it! Genuinely think it’s enjoyable.

### 5/5 — Such an amazing app!

*2025-06-09, version 2.4*

I love this app. It reminds me not to obsess over little details and to embrace imperfection. It also really gets the creative juices flowing and I’m never able to finish my thought before time runs out, so I just keep writing. I only have one recommendation: I wish you could reset the timer and continue on the same note. Still a very great app though! Kills my writer’s block for sure!

### 5/5 — This made me be soo interested into writing!

*2025-05-30, version 2.4*

5 stars no words

### 5/5 — Omg!

*2025-03-09, version 2.4*

This app is amazing! It pushed my goals farther and i think I’ll start typing everyday! Please get this app!
