## What is Dappleway?

Dappleway is a cozy walking game. A little companion hatches from an egg and grows with the days you already live: the walks, nights and workouts your iPhone and Apple Watch record in Apple Health. There's nothing to log by hand.

YOUR SMALL ACTIONS ARE YOUR HERO'S BIG ADVENTURES

• Meet your hero. Give him a name (Rusty, unless you choose another), pick a scarf, a collar or a bandana, and a coat.
• Connect Apple Health. Dappleway reads your steps, walking distance, sleep and workouts. The first day Health sends hatches the egg.
• Walk the path together. Your steps carry us along a path of 24 stops in four chapters, drawn on a map you can scroll. Each stop sends a keepsake home.
• Watch him grow. Good days and good weeks grow Rusty through nine stages, from Cub to Teen to Adult.
• Tricks and stats. Workouts teach him four skills, three levels each. Walks, nights in the 7–9 h window, workouts and good days raise his six stats: Strength, Agility, Speed, Endurance, Energy and Grit.
• A home that grows. Chapter by chapter, his tent becomes a hut, then a cabin, then a house, with shelves for keepsakes and a wall of plaques for our milestones: km on foot, nights of 7–9 h, workouts and good days.
• A quest of the day: a short walk, an early night or a workout. A finished quest carries us a little further along the path.
• This week and the last 30 days as plain facts — "About 4.2 km a day", "4 nights in 7–9 h" — and a picture of the week to share.
• A Home Screen widget: today's steps and how your hero is doing.

GENTLE BY DESIGN

• Nothing is ever taken away. Stages, stops, keepsakes and tricks only add up.
• A day Health hasn't sent yet simply hasn't arrived. No watch, no permission or a late sync never counts against anyone.
• Pause the path whenever you like: Rusty rests, reminders stop, and nothing is lost while you're away.
• Nothing here compares you with other people. Dappleway shows facts from your own days, and the growing is all Rusty's.
• One reminder a day at most, from Rusty, with quiet hours you set.

PRIVACY

Dappleway works with Apple Health and only reads from it: steps, walking distance, sleep and workouts. It never writes to Health, and your Health data never reaches us: there's no account, no sign-up, no ads and no server of ours that receives it. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports aren't linked to you and carry no Health numbers. One switch in Settings, Share anonymous usage, turns both off.

REQUIREMENTS

iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Steps and walking distance come from iPhone alone; sleep and workouts arrive from Apple Watch or from any app that saves them to Health.

COATS

The red coat is free. Silver and Dark are optional one-time purchases: the same companion in another coat, at every stage. Nothing in the game is locked without them.
