All the graphics are gorgeous as ever but nothing changes. You find a badge to open a hidey-hole to find another badge (sometimes called an Emblem) and so on. The HOS are all the same - you find bits which then join up to make a ... Badge ! There are some good puzzles - a few, and other reviewers have said the bonus chapter is fun - sadly I didn't get there. This game just couldn't hold my interest. The story line was dumb, the mini-games were either too complicated or too easy, and there seemed to be an endless supply of missing items that didn't really progress the storyline. I probably got about halfway through before I gave up. I've played all the other Dark Parables games, and have enjoyed them all, except for the last 2 or 3. I guess these games are made by a different company now, and I won't be buying anymore as long as they are. Blue Tea was better. The graphics, storylines, HOPs, and even how at the end of one story they lead you to the next with a sneek peak of what's to come. Yet that was Blue Tea Games. Don't get me wrong, the new developer has done a good job trying but it's not the same. Sadly I don't think I will be buying anymore Dark Parables because it was just not the same...... I don't know if Blue Tea games is out of business or not but if they aren't they need to go back to them ASAP!! So my two stars isn't because the graphics stink or the story line is horrible (even though it was super boring and slow) it is because it just isn't what I want or expect from Dark Parables. Star Wars needs Harrison Ford, Back to the Future needs Michael J. Fox and Dark Parables needs Blue Tea Games. Easy navigation but I just felt like it didn't flow right. Also I don't mind some of the HOS having little pics, but they the whole game? Variety? It was nice long game time tho. Dark Parables was put out by a gaming shop called Blue Tea Games, and their games were simply really good. Almost as good as the original Mystery Case Files games. Sadly this game clearly illustrates what happens when a foreign game shop tries to carry a series forward with any real depth or understanding of the content or target audience. Mis-named items, crudely constructed stories i.e. what is a snake charmer and cobra doing in a French town with a English castle in the background!!!! I would pay more if they would only us a team that had some semblance of understanding of what they are doing.
