## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Paying to unlock all features basically

*2022-12-03, version 1.4.3*

Yeah by locking off the ability to sign in behind a paywall the core use of Reddit as a place to connect with others about a specific topic is impossible. It’s ultimately just the base Reddit app but worse because of that, which is sort of impressive in its own way.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. I’m a solo developer so I’ve tried to balance paid vs free features while still being able to support development. At the moment it’s just a one time purchase to be able to sign in. Everything else is free. That said I’m always looking at ways to improve the user experience for everyone, including those who wish to use it without unlocking Pro. I’ll keep your feedback in mind!

### 2/5 — The option to purchase doesn’t open when clicked

*2023-06-14*

I was going to purchase the premium or whatever it’s called, but I can’t because nothing pops up when I click it.

I can’t even use it because of this, but I’m wondering if this is because of the Reddit api issue.

### 2/5 — Promising, but not yet.

*2022-08-29, version 1.4.0*

I was pleased enough to purchase the full version in order to log in. I then discovered that the Home button did not show my subscribed subreddits, only the Popular feed. I have not found any other way to view the front page.

**Developer response:** Hi Enfield,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experience! The Home button should definitely be showing your own Reddit front page. If you're still having trouble, please reach out to me through one of the options in the Dark Red Settings page and we'll get to the bottom of this issue.

If you have any more feedback, bug reports, or questions please don't hesitate to reach out well.

### 3/5 — Have to pay to log in to your reddit account

*2022-01-19, version 1.2.1*

Seems like it would be a good app but I'm trying to log into a single account and I'm being asked to pay. In my opinion logging into one account should be a given, charge if people want to add several. I don't have much use for reddit without signing i so I'm uninstalling. Wish this was advertised as a paid app.

**Developer response:** Hi Jayarie,

Thanks for the review! I apologise if this wasn’t clear enough in the description but Dark Red has just a single purchase to unlock signing in. There’s no other features that are paid.

With the entirety of the app free to use anonymously I felt this was a good trade off that lets users get a feel for Dark Red and see if they would like to support an independent developer.

In saying that, I’ll definitely take your advice onboard and see if I can both be clearer in describing Dark Red as well as providing more to the users in the future.

If there’s any other feedback you’d like to give, or just want to chat, please don’t hesitate to reach out at developer@darkredapp.com or on Reddit at u/DarkRedDeveloper

### 4/5 — Far better than the official app

*2022-09-28, version 1.4.0*

My one complaint, which may be user error, is that there doesn't seem to be an option for editing or deleting a comment.

### 4/5 — Near perfect

*2022-05-26, version 1.3.2*

Really enjoying this app, but the one feature it lacks is the ability to arrange subscribed subreddits in the order I choose. Alphabetic ordering is a little irritating.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the suggestion, Ron. There’s been heaps of positive feedback received about customisation in the sidebar so it’s what I’ve been focusing on recently. Keep a look out for this and more in the next update!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2023-02-23, version 1.4.4*

I love this app, it allows me to customize it where I only see my subs, and not get distracted by News, or Popular tabs. Plus, no ads, and the video player actually works. Excellent work to Nick on this!

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2022-10-21, version 1.4.3*

A great alternative to Apollo.

### 5/5 — Great app man

*2022-05-06, version 1.3.2*

Really happy so far but have a wish list of features.

-Save post and comment buttons
-Default to home feed not “all”
-Option to move thumbnails to the right
-Notification support

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback Burlaka! I’ve actually got some of those already in the works, and I’ll look into the others. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s any more features you’d love to see in Dark Red!

### 5/5 — Dark Red is great

*2022-02-27, version 1.2.1*

•Responsive developer

•App makes browsing Reddit Easy

in initial stage it’s so good and many features to be added in the future that will make this app top notch
