I bought this despite the reviews and canceled the same day. “Clear for the hour” as it was pouring down rain. I even had the premium version. How is this helpful??? Dark sky used to have a very unique alarm when severe weather was coming. This is silent even tho I have sounds turned on for it. Had it a week now, all notifications are on, it’s mega windy today and have had NO notification. That is a selling point. It does appear to be a pretty efficient application. What I would like to see is compatibility with Apple Watch & iPad. If you don’t see alerts, please check your app settings and make sure notifications are enabled. ### 4/5 — Great app and widget, needs a few options. *2025-08-11* Love the app and widget so much I paid for the premium version - only $3.99 a year! It can’t even tell me that it’s raining. Years ago it was great. It told you how many minutes till it rained and when it would stop. Thanks for letting us know! ### 1/5 — Shameless about ads *2025-07-25* DSW shaped up like a useful app while I initially tried it out, but within minutes it repeatedly forced me to watch entire ads for mindless game apps I had absolutely no interest in. I let that go once, but then (after just a minute!) it ran another forced-watch no-skip ad, and I immediately deleted the app. **Developer response:** Sorry about your experience. Ads in the free version are managed by Google, and while they help keep the app free, they shouldn’t feel overwhelming. You can remove all ads permanently by joining Premium. THIS IS THAT APP!! There is a lot of weather information if you want it, but you get what you need - with precision - at a quick glance. I am baffled how this is not reviewed higher. I am a weather geek and know a great app when I see it. It is a shame that people are so critical and give poor ratings to such a wonderful app. Great job Mr. developer! My only advice would be: Always keep the app simple and full of information like you have it. Do not fall into the fancy animated icon trap. The most accurate radar, hourly prediction, and forecast. Please don’t look any further, I have tried many other apps, but this app is the best I have ever used. I am HAPPY to pay 10$ a year for this app because it actually works! The interface is clean, and give you the exact information you need. The hourly prediction is so accurate! This weather app gives me the confidence to go outside. Most weather apps will say 80% of rain for the day, which is true. However, Hyperlocal will show me how MUCH it will actually rain. This app shows me that there is a 80% chance but it’s only supposed to rain 0.005 inches of rain, which is barely a sprinkle! Before that 80% may have kept me inside, but Hyperlocal shows me with deadly accuracy about how much it will rain. This allows me to go outside as I’m not worried about it sprinkling!
