When creating an account it says “Sending verification email” and it never comes. I’ve tried multiple emails with different hosts, as well as checking spam folders, also tried creating through different browsers, including their own app. It will not create an account. ### 1/5 — Just a Timeout Error *2025-03-23* I really want to enjoy and support Darkroom. I just signed up for it because they have some really hard to find films that I’d love to watch. As others have said, the app opens, I see a frame and some bottom menu buttons, and it immediately gives 2 timeout errors. I try to log in and get a timeout error. I wouldn’t even normally write a review, but the website has lousy functionality, too. I’ve started the same movie 7 or 8 times because the subtitles wouldn’t appear after turning them on, the play/pause button doesn’t work, and when I refresh the page in the vain hope that the buttons will work this time, if I try to slide the timer to where I left off, it just keeps playing it from the beginning except with a loading circle blocking half the screen. Please fix the site and/or the app and let me enjoy your streamer so I can tell people about the great selection and get you more users ### 1/5 — Simply broken *2025-02-13, version 1.9* Does not work at all. “Request timeout” repeatedly before you can even get into the app. ### 1/5 — Request Timeout! *2025-01-11, version 1.9* The app only ever displays a Request Timeout error message. I’ve redownloaded it several times and installed in on other devices. Same thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just one or two guys who run Darkroom. ### 2/5 — Cannot Signup for an account! *2025-06-01, version 2.0.1* The app looks promising I discovered it on another film website suggesting options for viewing a 1930s French film. I was excited to find it on the darkroom.film website. After a few failed attempts to signup on the website. I decided to try the iPhone app thinking I could sign in with Apple ID. Again I had to enter my email and create a password. But I still never received the confirmation email. It’s a shame because I was really excited about subscribing! ### 2/5 — Barely functional *2025-04-28, version 2.0* Well, I can log in now. Can’t move the slider manually. It’s a good selection of hard-to-find movies, and after watching a few short things in the background while I multitasker, I can’t wait to dive into a few foreign films I’ve been looking for for months.
