This app helps you calculating a correct finish, when seeing a score on the score board. But: this does not really make sense to train how to write dart scores. You would need to train both: calculating the score of the current visit, but also substracting this number from the score of the player. So in the referee mode you’d need to see three scores T16 S20 T39 and you would need to calculate the total and also substract it from the players score. This would be a realistic scenario. 
Just seeing a total score and then being asked what combination this could be, is probably 10 percent of darts calculations.
The UI itself is good enough, so when the mode works correctly I’d give 5 stars
