During presentation I constantly have to reconnect remote. This is stressful and frustrating. It kept idling for WiFi which I have in my home. It sounded like a good idea. Well I should have listened, I can’t get the scenarios to run. There are no instructions although the layout looks simple. I would not waste your money until the app improves its workability. I am able to control the functions of the iPad app with only a bit of a learning curve, as I couldn't find any real help files. That being said, it seems to only hold the connection as long as I am constantly updating the vital signs or rhythms. If I let it sit idle for more than 20 seconds or so, it disconnects and is difficult to reconnect. If I am using this app in a teaching scenario, where we may pause to discuss treatments or diagnoses, this part of the dartsim system is useless. A great resource for ACLS, PALS and EMS instructors! ### 5/5 — Had to change my comment *2017-01-15* Actually the app really works. And very well. It is not intuitive as we presume, but still the best app for ACLS simulation. Even with the description of iOS 8, it works with newer versions. Its pretty amazing how cheap it is compared to other options out there. My department purchased iPads specifically to run this program. In the past we paid thousands of dollars on real defibrillators and rhythm generators. We auctioned off our Zoll monitors we used for training on ebay. We got 3 iPad AIR's and 3 new iPod touches and our department had plenty of money left over. This application WILL NOT work until you have purchased the $24.99 bluetooth function feature. To purchase this bluetooth function launch your DART ECG & Rhythm simulator app and tap on the "iPhone icon” located to the far right. Then a box will open up and prompt you to purchase the bluetooth feature. I thought this application would link via Wi-Fi only. You need to purchase the this bluetooth feature. I can see why the other reviewers complained about not being able to connect. It won’t work unless you pay for the bluetooth function. The remote application can be improved. I hope the developers read my review. When I adjust the heart rate, Blood pressure, Resp rate, Temp, SPO2 or Etco2 with the remote a box opens up. When I enter in a value and press “OK” the box closes and that works great. But if I am using the up and down arrows to make smaller adjustments I can’t close the box unless I tap outside of the box area. Not a big deal but just a suggestion. If you set it up before use it is wonderful! As noted in the description this is not a stand alone ap. Dartsim is on my ipad. The remote ap on my iphone allows me to change rhythms and readings on the ipad. I did have some connection issues originally. But those were quickly solved.
