Ideal for what I needed! Cleaner csv export for users without other dartfish software would make it 5 stars. ### 4/5 — Useful app! *2012-07-15, version 1.2* Useful for recording time stamps for any series of events, sporting or not. You can customize the buttons, and then it records when each button is pressed, the name if the button that was pressed, and how long until the next button is pressed. This data can be exported to a csv file and emailed or saved. There is an option to make categories of buttons, but the category info doesn't appear to be exported to the csv file, so is of limited utility for me. But the counts for each category do show up in the app, if you want to record the numbers manually. The app beeps every time you press a button to mark an event, and that can get pretty annoying after awhile. The beep isn't so noticeable if you have music playing while you use the app. The major limitation for me is that the time stamps are rounded to whole numbers, so an event at 27.01 seconds is at the same time stamp as an event at 27.99 sec (both at 27), and there is then no way to tell which occurred first. ### 4/5 — Wonderful app - hoping for updates *2012-07-06, version 1.2* This is a wonderful tool for gathering data in real time for immediate analysis. 3 main uses I've employed: Counts: Easy allows you to count corner kicks, possession won/lost, shots on goal - any piece you may find useful (I use it for soccer if you haven't noticed). Time of events: Because of the time codes you can find key events from a match easily. Even though I don't use dartfish video software, the timestamp features makes it easy to match up with the game tape. Rudimentary Mapping: With a little bit of creativity you can use the app to map events as they happen. I have two maps for shooting. One based on where the shot is taking from (a birds eye view of the field) and where the ball ends up (goal lower left, goal upper left, near miss left, etc.) 5 stars except for a few items. Setting up the panels is an absolute chore! Even for simple panels it takes awhile to set everything up properly. A great solution would be the option to copy the settings from a button to a new one. Another major drawback is the inability to rename panels. Once you've named it, you are stuck with it. So choose wisely or you will have to completely redo (see above) a panel with your new title. I fear though that with over a year since the last update this product is stuck where it is. Seems churlish to complain about a great free app…but if I could change three things, they would be: 1. Easier deletion of wrong tags. 2. More flexibility of layout for tag collection. 3. Better .csv data export, IE different columns for the different values associated with each event rather than all info in one column. Great work though Dartfish! ### 4/5 — Serious coaching *2011-07-21, version 1.2* This is for coaches who are really interested in seeing how their team performs in figures. Together with statistics this is too good to be true and free! I agree that the undo function has to be a lot better but overall the app is really good! ### 5/5 — Outstanding *2011-07-11, version 1.2* This app is fantastic and so easy to use. I now use this every week with the rugby teams I coach. It's even useful at training. The flexibility allows you to set up to record any stat you like. Only slight improvement needs to e a better way to remove incorrect tags as you can only do remove the most recent tag and I have on occasion pressed it a couple times so can't undo more than 1. The tablet sits next to my camera as I record sporting events, so every time I tag something I get nice audio reminder for the remainder of the footage existence. At least add the option to disable that or maybe respect the device volume settings??? Turn sound off on tablet, but the clicks continue to chime… Period support… I understand that this is a subset of full app, but having a button to start “Period 1” makes one wonder how one starts “Period 2”… It really is a simple app and could’ve knocked it out of the park, but instead it just looks half thought through and half-baked PS: found a way to turn sound off, system sound needs to be off instead of audio sound being turned off, really goofy option on an iPad! ### 2/5 — Crashes *2016-11-25, version 1.3* Hi, this is a very useful app but it is crashing all the time when I edit the buttons when creating a new panel. I need this for monday and it is not working properly ### 3/5 — Hoping periods will allow for more is update soon? *2018-01-14, version 2.1.1* A couple of updates ago Dartfish added periods which looks to be a great addition. I still have to take screen shots to “mark stats for periods” and hoping soon I will be able to make a “new period”. For instance I presently use dartfish for tennis and marking/counting specific shots and want to separate by “sets” and possibly even games at some point to illustrate the differences in “counts” (actions performed) overall.
