### 4/5 — Strategic Racing Fun...

*2014-12-15, version 3.8.3*

Dash Race is a solid line/square graph paper racer...it is closer to real racing than you might think, especially if you are the type to pay attention to racing lines. More free tracks would be nice, in addition to networked multiplayer. The main issue with the game is that it crashes fairly often on my iPhone 6.

### 5/5 — Amazing concept

*2012-04-22, version 3.6.0*

I'm sad I didn't know about this growing up. I love paper and pen games. Especially when they're enhanced with technology and graphics.

IPAD with OS5.0.1

First review on App Store EVER!. Had to though, because I have thoroughly enjoyed this game. More of a puzzle than an arcade game, it's kept me entertained for hours. Tried all the maps, against one or three robots set for various levels of driving skills. There's even a starting line with "inside and outside" lanes that rotate everytime you play. For a real challenge, play with all 3 robots, cranked up, in the 4th starting position.

Just when you think you've mapped out the perfect route and speeds, the bots start blocking you. For a twist, try running the courses backwards against the bots.

PROS
-Can't believe I haven't played this game on paper.
-Simple game that anyone can play, but difficult to maser (practice does may you better)
- it was free (promotional?)
- Remember Ghost mode. It shows you your last path around the track.

Cons
- Music get tedious real quick
- There's an occasional glitch where you set for a bit
- Some of the starting postions are a little unfair.
- I wish the Robots were even smarter. I'd like to learn from them ;-)
- I cannot find anyone to play mutliplayer with ;-(

### 4/5 — Instantly my favorite turn-based game!

*2011-12-09, version 3.1.2*

I love this simple, easy distraction. Fun to play with others in the car or waiting in line. The only complaint is too few maps; I'd love to see more realistic track models added in a future update. Worth 99 cents any day!

### 5/5 — good

*2011-12-09, version 3.1.2*

Good try, especially for multiplayers.

### 4/5 — Great fun

*2011-12-07, version 3.1.2*

This is a fun, turn based, strategic, racing game. Good stuff.

### 3/5 — good

*2011-12-02, version 3.1.2*

puede mejorar mucho este juego. to creo q el sistema de puntos pra ver quien gana es muy malo, pues yo muchas veces salgo cuarto y eso q llegue primero a la meta. debarian corregir eso

### 5/5 — Great game

*2011-11-30, version 3.1.2*

Although I've never heard of this game, I found it very easy to understand how to play it. It's also very fun and multiplayer over Internet works great... Even has voice chat!

Those who say "too many instructions"... or "it won't let me steer"... or "the controls are too difficult": I strongly suggest you play the tutorial (and so does the program).

Here's a quick summary of the moving instructions:

You can only move the same distance and direction as your previous move, or to the eight points around that point. To select which of the nine points you will move to: hold your finger down (anywhere not on top of the dots, so you can see what you're doing) then drag to the dot you want. Lift your finger then double tap. That's it.

Remember that you will need to slow down (by picking dots closer to you) in order to make turns.

### 1/5 — Can't steer

*2011-12-09, version 3.1.2*

Worked for half a race then it stopped letting me steer all it does is move the map around an confirm a move so all you do is run into the wall. Running on iPod touch 3Gen

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2011-11-30, version 3.1.2*

Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Not Fun

*2011-11-30, version 3.1.2*

Nope

### 1/5 — Why?!

*2011-11-29, version 3.1.2*

To steer, tap the dot. To go forward, tap the dot twice. Controls are moronic. If I want to change the placement, why not tap AND HOLD the dot? That way I dont accidentally move forward?!!! Crap crap crap

### 1/5 — Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! B

*2011-11-29, version 3.1.2*

I rate it 900 below 0 I hate it it won't let me turn it is cold!!!!!

### 1/5 — Not fun

*2011-11-28, version 3.1.2*

The controls are impossible to steer and there's too many instructions, not fun at all

### 1/5 — Borrriiinnnggg

*2011-05-03, version 2.1.1*

I dont like it has no meaning

### 1/5 — Unplayable!!!!

*2011-05-01, version 2.1.1*

There are so many glitches that I can't even put my line where I want it to go! Then when I try to place it it will go to another side of the map. I would say please fix, but I already deleted it!!

### 2/5 — A textbook case of developer greed

*2012-01-28, version 3.5.0*

Pay 99 cents for a pretty okay game, sure! But then pay 99 more cents for the right to import specific developer-supplied graphics into the game? And the sum of all those "track packs" costing far more than the base price of the game itself? I feel like I just paid for the right to pay more, hyuck!

### 2/5 — Says I crash when I shouldn't. Not balanced.

*2011-11-30, version 3.1.2*

I can't tell you how often the game claims that I crashed when the spots are available to me. Seriously, I just saw a competitor car take the spot that the app told me I could not take, after it said I crashed.

I just played a game where I soundly beat every other car. 2 of them crashed twice. The 3rd crashed 3 times. I didn't crash at ALL! I came in LAST PLACE!!!!

The game IS super fun and I even bought the full expansion pack but now I'm regretting it because the game isn't fair.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Still playing

*2021-05-15, version 3.8.3*

I download this game with my iPad mini back in 2012, now I’m still playing it with my iPad pro

### 5/5 — Polished Fun Racer To Play With Your Friends!

*2015-04-01, version 3.8.3*

What a polished smooth grid racer based on very simple rules but leading into realistic driving behavior! It supports single play with robots of which you can adjust their driving abilities, tracks your racer stats, let's you race your "ghost", offers 11 full themed tracks with 9 extra for in app purchase, has a thorough introduction tutorial and plenty of extra online help in an optional section, let's you play your own music, but best of yet supports many options for multiplayer with up to 3 other players including single device pass n play, game enter connection, and multi device play through wifi or Bluetooth. The whole user interface is well designed with no glitches or crashing on iOS 8.2! There are 2 modes of gem play which are classic and an exciting challenge mode! Turns and starting positions of each round are decided randomly. The only feature missing is the ability to draw your own racing tracks and save them which would add immensely to the replay value even if this featured were limited by allowing you to only draw the tracks with plain old black singly sized lines so as not to compete with the extra themed tracks sold by the developer. I would even pay for this extra feature as an in app purchase! Thank you developer for bringing this wonderful app to the App Store and introducing me to this solid game! I can't wait to play this with friends!

### 5/5 — Conceptually crisp

*2014-04-20, version 3.8.1*

Very easy to just download and start playing. The levels get increasingly difficult and takes a while to master.

I wonder if this game is based off of an older game that I don't know of?

### 5/5 — Favorite game of childhood

*2013-01-30, version 3.7.2*

This version also features nice graphics, fancy levels and AI that is pleasure to play with.

Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Very well done, recommended

*2012-06-07, version 3.6.0*

I was hoping that someone would make a race game like this. Very cool. Smooth fluid play, tons of fun. I'd like to send the developer a virtual beer and good karma!! Well worth the price.
