But I have been suing it for 10 minutes and it's crashed at least 8 times...... Pretty sad that it hasnt been looked into. ### 3/5 — Mostly Good, Still Some Essential Controls Missing *2021-10-05, version 1.2.1* The 4-up playback is the major feature and works well. Still, there are simple controls that we expect in all MacOS applications that are missing here. Wanna switch from 1x playback to 0.5x playback? You hafta click through 2x, 3x, 4x, 8x, 16x, then once more to 0.5x. A better control is necessary. How about key press shortcuts for these speeds (as in other video players? How about key press shortcuts for jump-back-10-seconds, jump-forward, and pause/play? How about a wider control for the playhead so that scubbing the video is easier and more precise? In short, look at the best desktop video players that allow convenient and useful control of playback, and copy those features. Also, when opening a clip, the resulting window always opens in the same place at the same size. If a user adjusts that size, how about having the next clip open with the same position and dimensions instead of making the user reposition the window with each clip? Also, I haven't figured out yet how to delete lots of clips all at once. There doesn't seem to be a way to select multiple clips so that a single delete command will do the trick. ### 4/5 — Good start, lots of room for improvement *2021-07-19, version 1.2.1* Really nice to have a cross-platform app for viewing these videos. Often as I’m viewing a clip (usually at an accelerated speed) and it just freezes. This also occurs when using the slider to move forward in a video. The time moves but the video isn’t updating on the screen. I can’t find anyway to recover from that without exiting the video and reloading. It’s really hard to navigate from 0 to e.g 8 minutes, the scrolling bar is way too long and takes a really long time, and it will end up freezing. I have absolutely no problem accessing the Teslacam Files from the flash drive on my computer. When I try to view the files on my iPhone11 using the adaptor and App, I can see all the Folders and files in the folders. However when I try to open the files, I get an error message and it gives a message “Try again”. Quite frustrating to say the least. If you are using iOS13, you do not need this App. You can access all your TelaCam footage bu plugging your drive into an adapter and selecting the drive in the Files Folder on your iPhone. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2020-01-29, version 1.1.4* Just gives an error when I navigate and select the TeslaCam folder. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Glitched Video Exports - Not as Advertised *2024-05-27, version 1.2.2* I recently purchased Dash View for Tesla Cars with the expectation of exporting combined videos showing all camera angles, as advertised. However, the app fails to deliver on this promise with my 2024 Model Y. When attempting to export combined videos, the output is completely glitched. The exported video only shows two or three of the cameras, with them overlapping or in an extremely weird format. Instead of displaying all four camera angles, the app creates an ultra-wide video format that is not functional. The front camera often appears in the middle, with other camera views overlapping or missing entirely. This results in an aspect ratio that's around 10:1, which is unusable. The app's thumbnails on the App Store and in the app itself attempt to emulate the look of Tesla's Sentry Mode viewer, but the actual output is far from what is depicted. The exported videos are mangled in terms of orientation and inclusion of all four camera angles. This issue may be due to the newer Tesla models having cameras with different aspect ratios. For reference, I am using this app on a 2020 Intel iMac running macOS. I hope the developers can address these issues soon, as the current state of the app does not meet expectations based on the advertised features. ### 1/5 — don't buy this crappy app *2022-05-01, version 1.2.2* this app is totally useless because crashes every time I tried to open a file. All the other apps out there may do a similar thing, but this one does it with style. Love the way it automatically identifies the segment of the clip that matters for sentry mode video. I’m using an current iPad Pro which simplifies the in vegan leather seat viewing process with native USB-C connection and no extra power requirements. This app works with native Apple Files applications a huge plus. Playback is very smooth. Automatically jumps to a Sentry event so you don’t need to scrub to locate what is ”hopefully” nothing serious. Super simple export to iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive and AirDrop (yes, I use and tested all of them). These are often large video files so having an easy way to transfer to another device, computer or shared storage is really important if a real event needs to be shared with family, friends, and hopefully “not” the local authorities. Exporting my first video via AirDrop to an iMac 27” was pure joy, and very simple. Watching an event quickly in the car to feel better about a Sentry event removes anxiety that your car was tampered with in busy locations. Park as far away as you want from the store, but someone always pops-up you feel me, right? I do have one improvement suggestion, please add time stamp to exported video as an optional switch. Not all videos need a stamp. My first ever review, but well worth my time for what I hope is continuous updates. Nice work so far! Tesla, Sierra ### 5/5 — Fabulous App for TeslaCam Viewing *2020-01-27, version 1.1.4* Absolutely love this app! I am not tech savvy AT ALL and this was very easy to install and use. Makes reviewing the Tesla M3 Sentry videos a breeze, especially since it goes right to the incident and provides thumbnails for all the cameras. Just brilliant! Thank you for creating this! I did order the wrong lightning to SD adaptor (should have ordered the USB one). Fortunately my tiny micro SD card came with an SD adaptor. May end up ordering the lightning USB reader so I don’t have to fiddle with moving the tiny card to the SD adaptor. Cheers! ### 5/5 — Great Tesla App *2020-01-02, version 1.1.4* Very pleased with this app. I can view all my dash cam footage right from my phone with ease. Having sentry mode events so easily accessible is a great feature and exporting videos to share is quick. That said, the app does crash occasionally when swiping to go back to the home page after viewing a video but I’m not particularly bothered by it. Hopefully this gets fixed in an update. SanDisk *2020-01-01, version 1.1.4* I don’t understand why your app doesn’t support the popular SanDisk iXpand drive like other sentry viewer apps can read my SanDisk IXpand USB to lighting but this app can’t. Note to Developer.. you have a. Awesome GUI interface. It just needs to support USB drives that have the lighting cable built in. Please build it. When viewing though, it’s easy to get lost. I’m frequently getting black screens or frozen video and the jog bar doesn’t have any time references on it so I end up losing track of where I am in time. Also, when switching between camera views they end up all out of order. Start with front as the main with left, center, back below.
