Then a couple weeks later, randomly, for no reason the authenticator lost all of its information, and I was locked out of all my accounts, and had to go through a bunch of extra steps to gain access back to them. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for reaching out. Dashlane Team. ### 1/5 — Two Factor Authentication For Your Own App Is Awful *2023-01-31, version 1.2304.0* Works great for other apps. If you want an Authenticator for Dashlane itself, it works terribly. **Developer response:** From your message, I understand that you have noticed that there is a difference in how the Authenticator works with Dashlane itself and other apps. The main reason for this difference is that Dashlane will not store its own 2FA security token, as it does with others, and that it will be local to the Authenticator app on the device. However, this is by design and for your own security. As a security measure, Dashlane will not store its own login details, and I believe this is what you are referring to. Nonetheless, I've gone ahead and shared your feedback with our Product Team, who are always looking to integrate our users' input into their plans for upcoming updates to Dashlane. Take care! Dashlane Team. ### 2/5 — Fatal Flaw *2022-09-16, version 1.2236.0* It is not possible to edit the names of the accounts. I had an account get automatically named with my username rather than the name of the site itself. This will cause all sorts of confusion the moment another site does the same thing. Authy lets you edit account names; it’s hard to see how this could be overlooked here. I’m a heavy Dashlane user so this flaw is disappointing. If it’s fixed I’ll amend my review and come back (unfortunately this is far easier than dealing with their support, which requires you to email twice, or have your ticket auto-closed.) **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time for your feedback, it's highly appreciated! If you have that entry stored within your Dashlane account also where you store also the password for that website you can change the name from within that entry in app.dashlane.com and it will be reflected on the name in the Dashlane Authenticator app. If you do not have it stored, the same cannot be changed, and I've gone ahead and shared your feedback regarding our interface with our Product Team, who are always looking to integrate our users' input into their plans for upcoming updates to Dashlane. Update: We have great news, the current version of Dashlane Authenticator now allows the ability to edit your 2FA tokens including the item names. We have also released functionality to “favorite” frequently used 2FA tokens so they appear at the top of your list when you open the app. Thanks for being patient with us as we are continuing to work on improvements to the app. ### 3/5 — Not a fan *2022-08-07, version 1.2230.0* It is a little silly to require 2FA for the regular Dashlane IOS app. If someone has my phone, managed to get it unlocked and the authenticator is on my phone… all a person has to do is open the authenticator app to get access to all my passwords. So all that functionality does is annoy the user- I dislike it greatly so that is why I turned off 2FA and deleted the app. Otherwise- it is a good app, plenty of time to put the authentication code in when it is required. **Developer response:** Hi and thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us! The 2FA that you may have to log into your own Dashlane account can be setup using our own 2FA app or any other app or 2FA service. I do understand your security concerns and I would like to point out that even if someone unlocks your device both apps will still require authentication so they can open, it will work an extra level of security using biometrical authentication. I don’t have time to deal with this app. It is incredibly over engineered, very difficult to use, not intuitive. For example, every time I want to use my credit cards I have to login with my Dashlane master password, but I also want to have a master password that is complex and not memorizable this is not to be easy to type in. So I generally can never use Dashlane stored credit cards. I had to spend a couple hours using recovery codes to reaccess my accounts. (It doesn’t help that the Dashlane app froze every time I tried to input a recovery code.) It’s simple to use and reliable but does not support Apple Watch. So I’m trying Dashlane’s since my whole family uses Dashlane. I’ve set it up multiple times on my phone but it would only show up once in awhile on my watch. Sometimes for one account, sometimes for another account, sometimes not at all.
