Never any drivers and even when they accept they just cancel which the app does not tell you. As a teenager onwards data cars was always the best cab firm around with fair pricing and great service. How that Uber and bolt are available I always prefer to use a local company however data cars has proved not only to be able to keep prices competitive but the service is terrible and we are falsely reassured with speaking to an operator in times of need to find it is often a sarcastic rude individual who always finds an excuse for the disgusting service customers are receiving! Loyal customers are lured in with a vip points scheme hi where ever journey earns you points towards a free journey yet have it’s been informed by a driver of data that once they are aware it is a points earned journey no driver will accept as they don’t receive any payment for that journey and who can blame them? Which self employed driver would? They make it impossible to claim the journey! Drivers always cancel and when I’ve challenged this the head office has said I’ve cancelled even though I havnt and claimed and it must of been a technical error! Disgusting! Booked an airport service with them only to be woken up 4 hours before they are supposed to pick me up to cancel as they don’t have any drivers! Cancelled our cabs on the day! *2025-09-12, version 745.17.0* Don’t use unless in SE London.. NOT Nationwide! Large wedding party, pre booked several cabs in Kent (because app accepted booking as it says it’s nationwide) and then Datacars cancelled all of them on the day!!! The taxi driver was running late and I could see them on the map with still another 10-15 minutes for them to get to me. Given how late they were I cancelled the ride to take an uber instead and was charged a £5.60 cancellation charge! I don’t understand how/why they can even legally charge a cancellation charge when they did not meet the service I had requested. I emailed through to query this and got no response. Won’t be using them ever again, sticking to uber/bolt. ### 1/5 — App Update (22/2/2025) *2025-02-22, version 745.14.0* The latest update to this app is broken. You can’t get beyond the telephone number and picture verification. Then an error message appears and then you are entering your telephone number again. I suggest deleting this app and using the website until it is fixed. ### 1/5 — Terrible service *2024-05-17, version 745.9.0* Really gone down hill since the app. Constantly let down by DATA CARs The app always accepts pre bookings and takes the money, then doesn’t assign a driver until it’s too late. When you then cancel they take a cancellation fee, you can call up and dispute this and get it back. How many people don’t. The driver arrived late for the pickup which was prebooked and the ride was very jerky and in an old car. The driver stopped at one point to try to find some Coca-Cola which added delay. ### 1/5 — 0 star service from drivers *2024-01-27, version 745.6.0* You never get driver Drivers accept your jobs and don’t start driving towards you Takes forever and then cancels if they get another job or Uber or bolt. When you do get drivers it’s after few hours of trying.
