Strictly speaking they are NOT the same and thus do not give the same numbers: a GB is a power of a 1000 (it's used by Apple) but a GiB is a power of 1024 (it's used by Microsoft). If I'm correct you should change that, so that we can compare your numbers with Apple's !... *Second month: you report 3GB while Apple is already at 8GiB so... Why would they do that? My month end date is the 12th or so and after the last update all the counters reset on December 1st. It's got 2 purposes; to check overall data usage for the month so I don't go over my allotment (it projects what I would use for the month at that rate), and it's got custom cellular and wireless counters so I know what programs and downloads use up in data. I just clear a custom counter, listen to a podcast or whatever, then check the counter to see what I used.
