### 2/5 — No watchdog support

*2025-09-27, version 5.7.2*

The app does not support the most useful feature showing watchdog alerts

### 2/5 — Overall terrible

*2025-02-18*

Buggy, slow, and difficult to navigate. It's usually easier to go find a computer than to use the dd app

**Developer response:** Hi, we're really sorry the app doesn't suits your needs. Could you please send us an email at mobile@datadoghq.com to learn more about your experience? Thank you

### 4/5 — Handy

*2025-02-09, version 5.4.2*

Would be great to see RUM Session Replay accessible from the mobile app

### 3/5 — Love the product, hate the app

*2024-10-17, version 5.3.1*

I really love datadog and what it enables us to do, but as someone who uses datadog mostly for APM, this app lacks a lot. I wish there could be a way to see traces on mobile.

### 1/5 — Buggy, impossible to triage an incident on mobile app

*2024-09-22*

Mobile is clearly an afterthought at Datadog. Extremely frustrating that basic functionality doesn’t work. You cannot search logs with any filters unless they were saved from desktop. Dashboards are buggy and fully reload the whole app every 30 seconds. The list goes on.

For how expensive Datadog is, this is truly unacceptable. Please invest in making this app actually work. It’s important to be able to triage on mobile and its current form is completely unusable.

**Developer response:** Hi, we're really sorry the app didn’t suits your needs. We now support logs with free-text facet parsing to make it easier to search through logs. Could you please send us an email at mobile@datadoghq.com if you continue to face challenges or have any request? Thank you

### 1/5 — Pointless out of the box

*2024-07-15*

DD is basically just an overpriced ripoff of a collection of already established open source tools and this app is just a worthless wrapper around that.

The app itself doesn't do much other than display. I mean you really can't do much out of the box. Can't see dashboards unless you own them, searching is so restrictive that you're just wasting your time even looking at it. Basically it requires massive setup and spending days getting everything setup for yourself on the desktop version first.

Then just ask yourself, why am I just not using the mobile site via a browser? So then what exactly is this app for? I mean at least they can claim they have an app, but I find it pretty much worthless unless you sunken so much time to setup everything up for yourself using the desktop client that you might as well just save yourself the hassle and just do that meaning this thing is pointless. I guess the have to spend all that money they make ripping off and reselling open source tooling somehow. Give more back to those you are ripping off.

### 1/5 — Widgets don’t work

*2024-03-05, version 4.3.1*

Just get an empty gray box with an error when trying to add a dashboard chart to my Home Screen

### 2/5 — Dashboards and monitors are broken

*2023-11-12*

If you try to open a monitor it says an error occurred and the only way to proceed is to open in safari. If you have a dashboard that is longer than about 24 charts, then no data displays on those later charts.

### 4/5 — App is okay, widgets rather noisy

*2023-11-07, version 4.2.0*

Widgets show their last update in seconds, which is quite noisy on the home screen. Would love to disable that.

### 1/5 — Needs resources

*2023-11-07*

The Datadog mobile website is completely unusable. So any missing feature (resources especially…) are sorely missed.

You’re only able to view a list of the resources and sort them. Can’t dive into them.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your valuable feedback, indeed ressources details are missing among other things for now and we are continuing to expand the feature set of the app while still maintaining its ease of use on mobility.

Feel free to reach out to us at mobile@datadoghq.com so we can discuss further about them.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2023-10-06*

This app is rendered worthless by the signin flow with okta. Our company policy signs us out often from the app which further aggravates the below 3 problems.

Here is a sign in example:

Click link in slack. Go to browser window with no session info. Prompted to login with google, which does not work because of okta. Click the signin with sso link, prompted to enter my email, go to email, click link, browser session is not authenticated.

Here is another example. Open the app. Click sign in with saml. I login, and am taken to the data dog website in my saml browser, which is not rendering for mobile resolution. Click cancel on the modal window and i am still not logged into the app.

Here is another example. Go to the data dog website in a pc browser. It prompts me if id like to use the app or go to the desktop site.

I dont know what clown show is running the ui at this company, but all of this trash makes it hard to critically respond to alerts, and assess their priority in a pinch.

**Developer response:** We're sorry you had to experience this using the mobile-app. Can you please reach out to us at support@datadoghq.com so we can figure this out and help you? Thank you.

Once logged-in your session stay up and secure in your device encrypted enclave so you don't have to experience this when responding to alerts.

### 2/5 — Just not enough to keep the app installed

*2023-09-30, version 4.1.0*

The app on the surface is OK but it lacks important things such as “view related logs” which is important in case of an incident.

In that case you have to use web instead. But first, you may have to uninstall the app because if you have SSO, having the app on the phone will disrupt the SSO flow

So, in the end, during an incident my only option was to uninstall the app and I don’t think I will reinstall

### 1/5 — So hard to login when company config it via saml sso

*2023-08-12, version 4.0.2*

Can't login although in webview successful login, not redirected the session into the app

### 1/5 — Loading

*2023-07-25, version 4.0.2*

Only show loading

### 1/5 — missing features from prev versions

*2023-05-05, version 4.0.1*

Can’t manually trigger synthetic monitors. Difficult to navigate app. 🤦🏼‍♂️

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible native app

*2026-08-13*

I use DD every day at work, I have no problem with the web application. But holy **** is this mobile app bad. To make matters worse, they force this app upon you EVEN IN A WEB BROWSER. Can’t log in without this app being shoved in my face on desktop. Then when I do finally try it, it crashes constantly. Almost wondering if they just had an LLM spit out this mess of an app.

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear about the crashes with the mobile app. Could you please contact support@datadoghq.com so we can better understand the issue and help resolve it? Thank you!

### 1/5 — UI Issues

*2026-05-21*

UI issues. Incredibly frustrating experience trying to log in. Once logged in, in-app browser just shows the same broken page I’d get using safari, but a little worse. I cannot use or recommend this app as a result.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry to hear you had trouble logging in. Could you please contact support@datadoghq.com so we can better understand the issue and help resolve it? Thank you!

### 1/5 — App is helpful but links don’t open to the right page so becomes worse than the web

*2026-03-22*

I am going to remove the “open links in app” hooks because every time I click a datadog link to examine a monitor or a shared dashboard, it opens the app but just leaves me on whatever was the last app screen I was looking at. This breaks me from being able to use datadog on my phone. If I can’t remove that hook, it’s going to be an uninstall. You have to fix this.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry you had such an experience with the app. A fix was released in version 5.9.3. If the issue still persists, please reach out to support@datadoghq.com so we can understand your issue and help. Thank you

### 1/5 — Poor experience on mobile

*2025-07-17*

We use datadog and this app is a very poor experience. Authentication is very difficult and the app does not stay logged in. We use SSO through an external provider and the authentication flow is very bad on this app. Access to resources is limited, I will generally prefer to just use a mobile browser with all the limitations there vs the app.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry you had such an experience with the app, could you please reach out to support@datadoghq.com so we can understand your issue and help? Thank you

### 1/5 — Really really bad

*2025-06-25, version 5.5.1*

Aside from the UI being horrible
Things are just not available at all in the app and the website is equally impossible to browse on mobile.

### 1/5 — The alarm is giving me a heart attack

*2025-06-23, version 5.5.1*

The alarm is too loud. Please add a volume control.

### 1/5 — Garbage app

*2025-06-20, version 5.5.1*

Whenever I open an actively firing monitor, it shows a blank chart and gives me no useful information on what is firing. The web app is excellent. I expect better from such a big company.

### 1/5 — App and mobile site are basically unusable

*2025-06-18, version 5.5.1*

Can't perform searches. Just make your mobile site responsive. I'm on call and CANNOT use this app.

### 1/5 — Sad

*2025-02-06*

I’m a dev for a large public company that has been getting more and more teams on the datadog platform. Their desktop browser products like APM are truly fantastic. However, in 2025, on-call devs MUST have access to a useful mobile app that has all of the same functionality as desktop. Unfortunately, datadog’s app is hot garbage and needs to be completely redesigned. To make it worse, the website is completely broken in mobile Safari and not responsive at all. I’m going to look for a logging and monitoring platform that has a better mobile site (or app) and pitch it to my team.

**Developer response:** Hi, we're really sorry the app doesn't suits your needs. Could you please send us an email at mobile@datadoghq.com to learn more about your experience? Thank you

### 1/5 — Crashes after update /won’t launch

*2024-10-16, version 5.3.1*

App doesn’t open after the latest update. I tried deleting the local data too. Might want to actually QA your stuff, and not just “happy path” testing…

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-09-04, version 5.7.0*

Love having all the data in my pocket

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2025-08-02*

Gets the job done. Not aware of viable competition offering an app for their product.

### 5/5 — Saves me taking out my laptop

*2024-06-24*

It’s so nice to be able to see my monitors and dashboards from my phone, so I can triage without opening my laptop. Saves me a bunch of time and I can triage faster this way.

### 5/5 — Stable So Far

*2023-12-21, version 4.3.0*

Idk why is this app has a low star, it's pretty stable on me

### 5/5 — Tons of fun!

*2023-11-24*

I have monitors integrated with my NoSQL database and Datadog adds extra hidden data points for my online API’s. I can monitor my dashboards in one location and I never have timeouts on my servers.

### 5/5 — SSO doesn’t work

*2020-10-27, version 1.2.1*

It’s not possible to log in the app if your company use SSO.

### 5/5 — Beautiful app, and serves my on-the-go needs

*2020-08-19, version 1.1.1*

👌🏽

### 5/5 — Great App

*2020-08-04, version 1.1.0*

This is phenomenal for folks who are on call. Really looking forward to the next iteration!

### 5/5 — Läuft super!

*2020-08-03, version 1.1.0*

Endlich! Wir haben lange auf diese App gewartet. Funktioniert bisher sehr gut und wir können auch von unterwegs auf alle wichtigen Informationen zugreifen. Das erleichtert uns den Zugang vor allem im Home Office!

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2020-07-31, version 1.1.0*

Hope you will also add widgets for iOS 14!
