I don’t care about cellular usage. I work at a site for an extended period of time and we have Starlink. Each person is granted 3gb of data each day and you basically get in trouble if you go over. So I was hoping to be able to monitor WiFi usage and be able to set a daily alert once it reached a certain amount. ### 4/5 — Inaccurate measurement of data usage *2025-11-06, version 26.0* Unfortunately, the amount of data usage as measured by the app and the amount of data displayed by the iPhone (the counters are reset at the same time) sometimes differ greatly. Ich habe jedoch einen unbegrenzten Datentarif, und daher sind mir die Prozentwerte der Datennutzung nicht besonders hilfreich. Ich würde mir sehr wünschen, dass man in den Einstellungen auswählen kann, ob der tatsächliche Verbrauch in Gigabyte angezeigt wird – sowohl in der App als auch im Widget. Das wäre ein riesiges Upgrade und würde die App für mich perfekt machen. So what’s even the point of the single free fixed monthly version, except adding another unnecessary background process and widget to drain the battery⁉️ iOS already tracks data usage by default, even on a per-app basis! FYI, I had bought their paid app (DataMan Pro) too, but when iOS introduced a new widget overhaul a few years ago, they stopped updating that app and pulled it from the App Store, and made this one a subscription. A subscription for an app that doesn’t even need constant maintenance. But it’s their app, so they can do whatever they want. But to not honor their lifetime subscription is just plain greediness! What a joke. ### 1/5 — MISLEADING - PAID SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED *2025-11-19, version 26.0* Since ‘Focus’ modes have been available on iOS, I I have been on the lookout for a simple, but colourful widget I could pin to the Home Screen that would help me keep tabs on my remaining data when a ‘travel based Focus mode’ was active. Whilst I have found plenty, none were pretty - except this one. So finally, and for 99p, I thought I had finally found it! After installing I was quite surprised to see that the widget is only available with a paid subscription!? Unfortunately, there are already free apps out there that offer pretty much the same functionality as the app you actually charge for, but those have a subscription for extra features/widget instead. Not both. I tend to avoid subscriptions where I can, or unless it offers something really special - in fact I’m not alone, I saw an article yonks ago which showed an overwhelming percentage of the population prefer one off purchases vs subscriptions…there’s even a few reviews here stating the same thing! So cmon Dev, you are already charging money for the app…do you have to charge a subscription as well? ### 1/5 — Bait-and-Switch – $0.99 Gets You Almost Nothing But Aggressive Upsell *2025-07-11, version 18.2* UPDATE in response to developer: Thanks for the reply, but I have a screenshot of the pop-up triggered when I tapped “Font.” It promoted a Bonus Gift with Winter Wonderland and DONKEY Bounce — clear game content inside a paid app. Whether technically an ad or cross-promo, it’s irrelevant — it didn’t belong there and disrupted use of a utility I paid for. Also, your claim that the subscription model is clearly stated on the product page is weak, to put it generously. At no point was it made obvious that $0.99 only unlocked a crippled version, with nearly everything useful locked behind a second payment. That’s the problem — not privacy, not ads per se, but a misleading upsell loop in a paid download. Please just own the issue. It’s not about technicalities — it’s about trust. ----- I paid $0.99 thinking I was unlocking a full-featured data tracker. Instead, I got a barebones version with basic visuals and no real utility. To access what most people would reasonably expect from a paid app — like usage history, push alerts, multiple plans, or billing period customization — you have to subscribe again for $0.99/month or $9.99/year. Now the developers are moving previously available features behind a subscription paywall. Considering I was an original purchaser of this app, I find this move sleazy. Stay away from this app until they remove this. I don’t mind subscription services when they add capabilities, but you don’t remove them to add value to your subscription. There was a time when it would be off in its usage tracking but that has been improved. It's accuracy has been way on point and automatic reset at billing cycle is as well. DataMan you are gaining your mojo. ### 5/5 — Review of DataMan *2023-10-07, version 17.0* Great app for tracking mobile and WiFi data usage. I have had no problems with this app and seems to run ok. The multitasking option for tracking uses hardly any data to track cellular usage while roaming and is great for monitoring your monthly usage. This app has also helped in switching most of my data hungry apps which were eating up cellular data to wifi use only. An option to see which apps were using up the data throughout the day well or month would be great to to help trim my apps usage still further.
