If I am feeling particularly disconnected from God, what is happening with my feelings, or my thoughts are on a run away train, the 5-10 minute practice helps me to notice what is really going on in the moment. It can be easy to get caught up in your day and have left (or forgotten where you left) prayer journals, Bible, devotionals, etc behind. And then you jump on your phone (which never leaves your side) and get caught up in the usually non-spiritual apps that are there. Now I have this great app that can stare back at me and remind me of a better way to spend that 5-10 minutes I have.
