## What is Dawnlet?

Your calendar knows your meetings. Another app knows your habits. A third knows what you spent. None of them know what your Tuesday looks like.

Dawnlet keeps all of it in one place and shows you one day at a time, weather beside the date — then stays quiet.

Dawnlet is built by one person, Aly Badawy.

EVENTS AND TODOS
Repeating or one-off events, paged by month. Todos with due dates, notes and links, repeating weekly, monthly or on the nth weekday.

HABITS AND STREAKS
Every day, specific weekdays, or a few times a week. Honest streaks, with skip days that don't break the chain. Link a habit to Apple Health and it checks itself off when you hit the goal.

MONEY
Income and expenses by category, monthly budgets, recurring bills and savings goals. Lock it behind Face ID, which hides amounts in notifications too.

TIME TRACKING
A live timer with real pauses, so totals stay honest. Switch in one tap or backdate. Or start a focus session: intervals with breaks, each one logged.

THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Movies, books and places — each with a planned date, a rating and who you did it with, and a map. People are your Apple Contacts, read on your device, with an optional nudge to keep in touch.

JOURNAL, MEALS AND GRATITUDES
As many entries a day as you like, with bold, italic and a mood, and questions drawn from your day when you're stuck. Search it, revisit this day in past years, and log meals and gratitudes.

CHAT WITH DAWNLET
Ask what's on Friday, or add events, todos, meals and gratitudes in your own words. It shows what it understood before saving anything, and runs on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence.

NOTIFICATIONS THAT KEEP WORKING
Every kind has its own switch and quiet hours. All on your device, so a week away never goes silent. Focus filters show only the categories and tags you pick.

EVERYWHERE YOU ARE
Widgets, and your running timer in the Dynamic Island. Siri and Shortcuts start a timer, add a todo, check off a habit or log an expense. Apple Watch shows events, habits, todos and the timer. Works offline, and syncs when you're back.

BUILT FOR EVERYONE
VoiceOver throughout, Audio Graphs, Reduce Motion, iPad keyboard shortcuts and Undo after a delete. In US, British, Australian and Canadian English.

PRIVACY, PLAINLY
You sign in with Apple. Dawnlet stores an account ID, the email Apple gives it and your name if you shared it. No third-party analytics, ads or crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no tracking. Calendar, Reminders and Contacts are read on your device; synced todos are saved to your account, and someone you add to a meal, movie or place is stored as a name, contact ID and keep-in-touch interval. Apple Health is only read, on your device. Weather sends your approximate location, or a city you pick, only to Apple's weather service, never to Dawnlet. Chat and journal prompts run on your device. Delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.

WHAT'S FREE, WHAT'S PLUS
Free is a complete app: agenda, events, todos, habits, money with Face ID lock, time tracking, journaling, meals, gratitudes, places, books, movies, people, Calendar and Reminders in your agenda, focus sessions, Focus filters, one Apple Health habit and notifications. Up to 500 each of habits, todos, activities, places, books and movies.

Dawnlet Plus, one subscription across every module: Chat, weather, month insights, Patterns with sleep, written Look Backs, reports and export, Plan My Week and Month, repeating todos, events and bills, budgets and savings goals, journal prompts and "on this day", more Health habits, Reminders sync, Calendar write-back, keep-in-touch nudges and no item cap. It is an auto-renewable subscription: Dawnlet Plus Monthly is $3.99USD for one month, and Dawnlet Plus Yearly is $34.99USD for one year — about $2.92USD a month. Both start with a 14-day free trial; cancel any time in your Apple ID settings. Terms of Service: https://dawnlet.app/tos/ — Privacy Policy: https://dawnlet.app/privacy/

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.0 — 2026-10-19

A notification time for any todo or habit. Set one - "tell me at 7 AM" - and Dawnlet sends a notification then, on each day it's due. Check it off first and it doesn't come.

Streak freezes for habits (Dawnlet Plus). Every 7 days you do a daily habit earns a freeze, and it saves up to two. Miss a day after a streak of three or more and a freeze covers it, with a snowflake on the day.

Savings goals, round two (Dawnlet Plus):
• Your goals sit on Lens with their progress, and a tap opens the goal.
• A notification comes a week before a goal's date if you haven't reached it yet.
• Look Back says how much went toward your goals.
• They work offline and sync when you're back online.
• Switch on "Also add to Finance" when you add to a goal and it shows in Finance as a transfer, counted as neither spending nor income. Or turn a transaction you already have into one with Add to Savings Goal.

### 2.1.3 — 2026-10-18

Dawnlet has a new icon: First Light. Prefer another? Choose from six in Settings → Appearance → App Icon, including the original. Each one has a light and a dark version that follows your Home Screen.

Also fixed: the "It's been a few quiet days" notification could appear in your notifications list many times over.

### 2.1.1 — 2026-10-16

Bug fixes and improvements to keep Dawnlet running smoothly.

### 2.1 — 2026-10-15

NEW
• Chat with Dawnlet (Plus). Ask about your days - what's on Friday, how many books you finished this year, when you last saw Sam - and add events, todos, meals, gratitudes and habit check-offs in your own words. Dawnlet shows what it understood before anything is saved. It runs on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence; without it, adding still works.
• Weather on Agenda (Plus). Today's weather beside the date, a 10-day forecast on a tap, the forecast in Plan My Week and Plan My Month, and the forecast for each day of a trip on its place's page. Uses your approximate location or a city you pick; the location goes only to Apple's weather service, never to Dawnlet.
• Savings goals (Plus). Set a goal in Finance > Manage with an amount and, if you like, a date, then log what you put toward it.
• Focus sessions. Work in intervals from the Time tab - 25 minutes by default, with a short break and a longer one after every fourth. Each interval is logged as an ordinary session; the Live Activity counts it down, and a notification tells you when it or its break ends.
• Focus filters. Add a Dawnlet filter to any Focus in Settings > Focus and choose the categories and tags it shows. Agenda, Todos, Events, Habits and the widgets follow it, and notifications for other categories stay quiet.
• Sleep beside your moods (Plus). With Apple Health connected, Patterns compares your mood after longer and shorter nights, and Reports gain a Sleep section. Read from Health on your device when you open them, never saved or uploaded.
• Journal prompts from your day (Plus). Writing a new entry, Dawnlet offers two or three questions drawn from that day. Apple Intelligence writes them on your device when it's available, seeing only names and counts, never your journal, notes or money.
• Moods you can tell apart. The day's mood is five drawn faces, from a deep frown to an open smile; a journal entry's mood is its own three-stage scale of hearts. Existing entries convert on their own.
• British, Australian and Canadian English. Dawnlet speaks your English, with dates the way your region writes them and times following your 12- or 24-hour setting. Journal is your Diary in the UK and Australia.
• Today in Health on Agenda. Today's steps in a card, read on your iPhone and never uploaded. Plus adds sleep, exercise, distance and more.
• Bills due soon (Plus). Agenda's Finance card lists the recurring expenses due in the next week, and an optional Bills coming up notification tells you ahead of time.
• Turn tags off in Settings > Tags; nothing is deleted. Tag insights (Plus) show what each tag adds up to, in its own page, Reports and Look Back.
• Income can count toward budgets, if you turn it on in Settings > Finance.
• Notes and a link on todos, and a shared web page keeps its address as the todo's link.
• Events by month. Step back to see what happened and ahead to plan.
• Choose which Apple calendars show in Agenda, Events and the widgets. With Plus, pick where your Dawnlet events are added.

IMPROVED
• The update notice appears soon after a release.
• Todos, habits, activities and journal entries from Spotlight work with Siri and Shortcuts, and Write Journal Entry works with Apple Intelligence's journaling.
• An event you change in the Calendar app shows in Dawnlet as soon as you come back.
• Welcome-back offers appear on the paywall when Apple has one for you.
• Deleting your account offers Export My Data First, free on every plan.
• With Apple Reminders sync on, a repeating todo you've missed keeps only its latest missed day in Reminders, not one for every day.

CHANGED
• Categories and Tags are two pages in Settings, each with its own Add button under the list.
• Name a session while it runs, from a field on the timer card.

### 2.0 — 2026-10-12

NEW
• People are your Apple Contacts. People reads your address book on your device instead of copying it to Dawnlet's server: everyone in it, always up to date, with birthdays on Lens and in notifications. Add someone to a meal, movie or place by picking a contact, and only their name is kept with what you did together. People you'd added only in Dawnlet are added to your Apple Contacts the first time you open 2.0.
• What you've done together: a person's page shows the meals, movies and places you've shared, when you last saw them, and an optional notification to keep in touch. Part of Dawnlet Plus.
• Habits that check themselves off with Apple Health. Dawnlet suggests habits from your last four weeks (steps, workouts, sleep and more) and ticks them off when Health says you've reached the goal. Health is only read, on your device. One Health habit is free; Plus links as many as you like.
• Works offline. With no signal, almost everything you add or change is kept and shows straight away, then syncs once you're back online. The timer keeps working on iPhone and Apple Watch, and a journal entry you're writing is kept as a draft.
• Plan places, books and movies from their editors: a month or dates, and they show on Agenda on those days. Plan a return trip, a rewatch or a reread too, and ticking it off logs it again.
• Places, Books and Movies open on your bucket list, and Places opens with a map of where you were or are going next. Finishing one always offers its star rating.
• Tick habits off from your Home Screen with the Habits checklist widget. Today and Habits today come as Lock Screen counts, Today's agenda and Habit week come in a large size, and Today's agenda lists your Apple Calendar events too.
• Apple Watch keeps up: complications update in the background, and the running timer shows in your Smart Stack and on CarPlay.
• More in Shortcuts: Complete Todo, Add Event, Add Gratitude, Write Journal Entry, Log Meal, and Add Book, Movie or Place. The share sheet can save a gratitude, or an event with its date picked up from the text.
• Time a todo, reports that compare with the period before (Plus), and where and which meal you ate.
• Tapping something shows it; Edit changes it.
• Habits a few times a week, habits that count an amount, and habits for the morning, afternoon or evening.
• Watched it again, read it again, went back. A map of your places. How far into your book you are.
• Todos in Apple Reminders (Plus), a day timeline (Plus), an Overdue section on Todos, repeat last month's budgets (Plus), and each day's events inside Plan My Week.
• Made for iPhone Duo. Browse is now Lens, with every module behind the left edge. Search finds things by category and tag. Notifications on one device only. Redeem Offer Code in the app. Learn Dawnlet, with a Siri & Shortcuts guide.

IMPROVED
• End a habit or a repeating todo without losing its history. Finance shows scheduled bills apart from what you've spent. Apple Calendar events open inside Dawnlet. View switchers sit in each screen's header.

FIXED
• Changing or pausing a recurring transaction no longer rewrites earlier months.
• Widgets move on to the new day at midnight on their own, on iPhone and Apple Watch.
• Tapping a notification while Dawnlet was closed no longer quits the app.
• Editing a tracked session no longer adds its paused time back.
• Repeating events keep their time when the clocks change, and repeats on the 29th to 31st happen in shorter months too.
• A repeating todo missed for days shows once as overdue, not once per day.
• An event you also add to Apple Calendar no longer shows up twice.
• Shake to undo now works.
