## What is Day Planner?

Day Planner helps you plan how to use a block of time, figure out what you have time for, and keep yourself on track with the plan.

It's perfect for
 - travel itineraries
 - study plans
 - business presentations/meeting planning
 - complex meal cooking plans
 - interval or circuit training workouts
 - set lists for musicians

You make a plan by setting the start time or the end time, and then add your tasks and the app calculates the start time for each task. If you set a fixed end time then the app calculates working backwards so you know what time you need to get started.

When you reach the plan's scheduled start time Day Planner shows which task is the current one with a countdown timer. You can optionally turn on notifications for the beginning of each task so that you don't need to have the app running to keep on track.

Once you've made a plan you can re-use it again and again and copy it to make variations. Editing your plan is super-quick with custom autocompletion to help you add tasks you've used in other plans by typing just a few characters.

Your data is automatically and instantly synced via iCloud so you can switch between your iPhone and your iPad and your plans will always be in sync.

You can have up to two plans for free, and when you want more you can unlock that limit with an in-app upgrade with pay-what-you-want pricing.

### 3/5 — Requires iCloud sync

*2026-02-19, version 1.3.0*

I like the neat and simple layout of this app but there’s no way to try or use it without iCloud sync. Trying to put in a single task causes it to crash.

I find this a puzzling requirement for the app and inconvenient because I have no storage.

Can this be changed?

### 5/5 — So worthwhile

*2024-10-07, version 1.3.0*

This app is just what I was looking for. Creating a plan for how to spend my day seems to give me more time in the day! Instead of the day slipping by and many tasks being left untouched, creating a plan for spending every minute allows me to use that time deliberately.

### 5/5 — Beyond helpful for my ADHD!

*2022-12-29, version 1.3.0*

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great underrated app

*2022-11-07*

This app has everything you need and is simple and easy to use, I am amazed it’s not more popular

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-07-11, version 1.3.0*

Love having a plan so I can get my day started and get a lot done. This app gets me so organized that I don’t have to worry about getting overwhelmed. Very easy to use and perfect before bed to make a plan for when you get up. Love it. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Nice but limited

*2022-05-25, version 1.3.0*

So it is simple easy and reasonably priced, but I’d like a tiny bit more flexibility. So you set up 10 tasks and they are scheduled to complete by 5pm, for example…. But if you overshoot you have to manually go back and reset where you are up to.
A useful option would be click when complete, for each task… as you get bogged down, in, say take 3… it would be useful to see the final time slipping, but it doesn’t it just thinks you are already in task 4? Get me?

### 5/5 — One of the best apps

*2022-02-11*

Actually I try many apps to find which really works for me.
But for the first tym I felt, may be this custom made for my needs.
Duration with timer is the one which I have been looking for.Loved it man😻😻😻keep going🤝🤝🤝

### 3/5 — Useful, but no share/export

*2021-05-10, version 1.3.0*

I would like to use this app for planning meeting agendas but there is no share to email capability. So it’s double work to keep information in synch.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2021-04-11, version 1.3.0*

All the other planners were far too complex for me but this has the simplicity I need. Great for students who need to plan quickly and efficiently.

### 5/5 — Genius

*2020-11-12, version 1.3.0*

The ONLY app of its kind since 30/30 was sun-setted. And it’s simplicity and flexibility is it’s super power.

I particularly love the fact you can build a plan backwards from a set time in the future back to the present moment - thereby creating a plan full of tasks (or breaks!) up until an actual time when you need to stop.

Setting up separate plans for say ones morning routine or a stack of Pomodoro and break intervals to just run in the background - super helpful to nudge us along.

And the new iOS 14 widget works wellI - thank you Jon - oh, and whilst here Jon - for Christmas, can you give us all an Apple Watch Complication Pleeeeeaaaaase - Pretty Pleeeaaaase with a cherry on top - that would make it 6 stars - in anticipation - thank you ;)

Oh - and how about intermittent tick or better still a haptic - like, not every second - but say every 30 seconds or minute - you know ... to keep us reminded to stay on task, cheers ... meanwhile, Happy Christmas Jon!

Added some highly requested features!
- You can now set notifications to happen only on certain days of the week. Thank you very much to everyone who suggested that.
- A widget is now available (on iOS 14). It shows your current and upcoming tasks for your chosen plan. After adding the widget to your home screen, go into jiggle mode and tap the widget to choose which plan it should show.

### 1.2.1 — 2019-10-17

Fixed some bugs:
- Fixed notifications being turned off when the app restarts (thank you סטאר for the report!)
- Fixed the app sometimes showing a blank view when it was reactivated in Split View or Slide Over on iPad (thank you Zhirong for the report!)
- Fixed the task timer sometimes being stuck at "00:00" when returning to the app.

### 1.2.0 — 2019-09-19

The app is now fully updated for new iOS 13 features, including:
- Added support for Dark Mode
- Pressing and holding on plans and tasks shows a snazzy new context menu
