The desktop is very glitchy & could use an upgrade. I do pay for the premium so having things like the keyboard freak out as I’m typing is really annoying. The themes could use some more….themes. I would love a widget, too! I love the calendar & photo uploads. I appreciate that I can go back to any date & add a photo from past entries from a paper journal & keep all my entries in one place. I’ve made sure my notifications for the app are switched on but I still don’t receive anything. I should be able to remove my account and data when I feel it’s right to do so and not be restricted, I am going to seek advice under GDPR, as this app I do not feel is compliant to operate within the EU/UK if users can not easier control or remove their accounts / data. Daybook isn’t one of them. A minimalist app that keeps it simple and tidy to keep a virtual diary. Anytime a thought comes into my mind or I want to expel something from my brain, Daybook offers that easy solution. I’m truly unhappy with this because I had stored some of my important information on there. ### 1/5 — It doesn’t save all entries *2025-06-19* I used to love this app but one day I was looking for a very important entry I wrote for myself a few months ago and could not find it (the app had only saved the tittle but not my actual post) I thought that might have been a mistake on my end, but then another day I wrote another entry in this diary app and two days later I went to check it out and it wasn’t there at all! This app is not reliable, you might loose your entries, and if this matters to you, this is not the app for you. The whole point of having a diary is to be able to write your mind out and have your thoughts saved and available to be looked back at and reflected upon whenever you need/want in the future! ### 1/5 — No two factor *2025-05-06, version 1.7.2* Not being able to setup two factor for logging in is a no go for me. It's disappointing that it's having an error because I previously recommended this app to friend etc. This should be fixed immediately. ### 1/5 — Notes Lost *2023-08-15, version 1.5.8* Was a 5 star app but recently it won’t save the notes anymore and most of them are lost after I quit the app 🙂 ### 1/5 — Can’t delete account *2023-03-10* I was testing multiple journal apps and this one couldn’t compete with others, but when I tried to delete my account here it just won’t let me, it tries to make me log in to Facebook for some reason, and even when I do it still won’t let me delete my account. Shifty. ### 1/5 — Can't Delete Account *2023-02-03* I created a free account to test the app but then I found a different app that was better. I went to delete my account on Daybook but when I click the button to do so, it tries to make me sign into facebook for some reason, I finally gave in and let it link to my facebook but it still wouldn't let me delete my account. So I unlinked it again from my facebook...because there should be no need to do so in the first place, now I'm still trying to delete my account that they don't want me to delete. ### 1/5 — Sleazy *2022-07-22* Daybook really really doesn’t want to allow you to delete your account should you try the app and not find it suited to your needs. If you choose “Delete Account” from within the app, you will get a blank page that just says “Reauthenticate” in plain black unlinked text. Pressing “Back” just takes you back to the previous screen where you’ll find your now unwanted account still unhappily in place. If you attempt this from the web app, you’ll be taken to Facebook for some reason to log in! And, guess what! Your unwanted account will still be unhappily intact as before. There’s no way to delete your account. Create one, and you’re stuck with it forever, and there’s no way to log off the web app, either. Happy harvesting, Daybook. I was looking for something I could jot things down about the day while still being able to edit later in case I forgot something important. It’s also extremely convenient that I can see the beginning of multiple entries according to date.
