## What is Dayglean?

Every journaling app can store what you wrote. Almost none of them read it back.

Dayglean's daily ask is thirty seconds: tap a mood, add a line if you feel like it, by voice or by typing. No prompt you have to answer, no blank page staring at you.

Then once a week comes Pattern Drop. Dayglean reads what you actually wrote and gives you one specific observation about your own week, in plain words. A sentence you can argue with, not a chart you have to interpret, and "Ask about this" sits right under it when you want to push back.

WHY IT IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS
• Insight, not analytics. Other apps graph your moods and leave the thinking to you. Dayglean names the pattern in plain words and takes your questions about it.
• One tier. Dayglean+ is the whole app. No second paywall hiding behind the first.
• Thirty seconds is a full moment. Long-form is welcome, never required.
• Your moments stay on your phone. Cloud analysis for Pattern Drop is off until you switch it on, and the screen that asks says exactly what leaves the device.
• Streaks that forgive. A freeze covers a missed day, so one slip does not end your run. Nothing wilts, dies, or guilt-trips you.
• Written for 16 and up. Not talked down to teenagers, not written past adults.
• With Dayglean+, your words are always yours to take: export every moment, photos and goals included, as a branded PDF.

WHAT IS INSIDE
Moments: a mood plus optional text or voice, in seconds.
Pattern Drop: your weekly read, one specific observation.
Ask about this: follow-up questions about your own week.
Timeline and calendar: your history two ways.
Recap: the week as one card.
Goals that show up in the weekly read instead of sitting in a list.
Search across everything you have written.
Apple Watch: log a moment from your wrist, by tap or dictation.
Home screen widget: tap a mood to log it without opening the app.

Dayglean+ unlocks the weekly Pattern Drop and its follow-up questions, voice journaling, search, the calendar view, recap, extra themes and app icons, and PDF export. Free for the first week, then $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year. One tier, cancel anytime.

If something you write suggests you are struggling, Dayglean points you to real crisis resources. That is a caring nudge, not a diagnosis. Dayglean is a self-reflection tool, not a clinical one, and it never claims otherwise.

### 5/5 — A nice to have a portable Journal

*2026-09-08*

I keep track of my day using this. I use this journal to organize myself. What i’d love to see is having a widget on the screen. I’d say a must have maybe!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your response, I am happy to inform that there is a widget feature on the latest version . UI for Apple Watch has been updated as well.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-22

Mood colours are yours to pick. Settings, then Appearance, has a new row
with three sets. Sunrise is the one Dayglean has always used and stays
the default. Compass gives you five clearly separate colours that still
run light to dark in mood order, so a calendar month reads at a glance.
Confetti pushes them as far apart as colour allows. Pick a set and the
whole app changes at once, with no restart: Today, the Timeline, the
calendar, Pattern Drop, the widget, and any card you share.

Calendar day numbers are readable again. The number drawn on a mood disc
was using the paper colour and all but vanished on the lighter moods. It
now uses the same dark mark the mood bubbles use.

The Okay face is no longer a ghost. On Sunrise it was a white figure on
a light grey circle, the faintest thing in the app. It is dark now, the
same as Good and Great. Nothing else about the colours moved.

Logging a mood from Spotlight or Shortcuts shows up. Choosing "Log mood"
from search saved the moment, but the app never noticed it arrive, so
your Timeline stayed empty and the next ordinary save wiped it out.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-18

Paper is yours to choose. Pick the tint and the pattern separately in
Settings. Two new tints, Gleam and Peony, and two new patterns, Bows and
Sparkle. Your paper now runs under every main screen, and a card you
save or share carries it too.

Deleting a moment shows you the moment. The confirmation carries the
day, its mood and the first lines of what you wrote, so you can see what
you are about to end. A moment that is only a photo shows you the photo.

Typing no longer hides behind the keyboard. On Today and when editing a
moment, the page follows the line you are writing.

The mic explains itself. If dictation is switched off for your phone, or
a permission was refused, the app says which switch is off and takes you
straight to Settings, instead of a line that erased itself after six
seconds.

Your Lock Screen circle says what it is counting. A streak of 12 days
and a streak of 12 weeks used to look the same.

Dark mode reads properly. The week no longer loses the days still
ahead, and Delete is red you can see rather than grey.

Pattern Drop on iPad uses the whole window. The read keeps a sensible
line length while the week, your goals and the cycle pattern sit beside
it. Split View and Slide Over lay out properly now.

Faint text passes accessibility contrast over every pattern, in light
and dark.

Also: a quieter Pattern Drop week strip, no stray logo after unlocking
with Face ID, swipe back that follows your finger, dictation that stops
when you leave Today, and a saved card whose Dayglean mark is the same
every time.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-11

- Restore purchases now tells you what happened: your Dayglean+ is restored, there is nothing to restore, or the App Store could not be reached.
- Buying Dayglean+ unlocks it straight away. Before, iOS could be slow to report a purchase and the Dayglean+ cards stayed up.
- Free readers get one Pattern Drop a month again, counted in your own month and time zone.
- A new screen when your free week ends shows your week, what stays free, and what Dayglean+ adds.
- The privacy wording now names the Back up to iCloud copy, which goes to your own iCloud account.
- The Terms and Privacy links open dayglean.com.
- Rating Dayglean now uses Apple's own review sheet, and it never appears on top of another message.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-09

The button that jumps the date picker back to today is now easier to spot and easier to tap.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-08

Pattern Drop sits on the app's own paper again, instead of a washed-out system bar.
On iPad, a day's goals sheet shows every goal card whole.
Buttons at the top of a sheet read their full word on smaller iPhones.
Minor cosmetic fixes for UX.
