## What is Daylume?

Plan your next photo around the light, from your Apple Watch.

Daylume calculates golden hour, blue hour, sunrise, sunset and Moon events for your location. Open the photo planner, choose a subject, and turn a time on a chart into a practical shooting plan.

PLAN A SHOT
• Choose landscape, portrait or city lights. Suggestions use the actual upcoming golden/blue-hour windows for your location.
• See the start, end and duration, with a short tip matched to your subject and the light phase.
• Browse a day's photo windows alongside its full light timeline. Twilight that crosses midnight and 23/25-hour days are handled explicitly.
• Preview the plan text before opening the watchOS share sheet. Precise coordinates and place names are not included. The shared plan includes a Daylume App Store link.

USE THE LIGHT, EVERY DAY
• Current light phase and a countdown to the next change.
• Sunrise, sunset, solar noon and a timeline you can move through day by day.
• Configurable golden-hour, sunrise, sunset and evening blue-hour alerts, with up to 60 minutes of lead time.
• Complications for supported watch faces and Smart Stack widgets.

DAYLUME PRO
Pro adds the live Sun/Moon compass and Moon planning: phase, illumination, rise/set, upcoming full/new Moon, and a calculated dark-sky window when the Sun is below astronomical twilight and the Moon is below the horizon.
Photo plans, light times, alerts and complications remain free. Monthly and annual subscriptions are available; prices and billing periods are shown before purchase.

BUILT FOR THE WATCH
An independent Apple Watch app. No iPhone companion or app account is required. Sun and Moon calculations run on the watch and work offline. Optional place-name lookup sends coordinates to Apple's geocoding service; it is off by default. Purchases and restoration use the App Store. Sharing happens only when you choose it.

These are astronomical predictions, not a weather forecast. Clouds, terrain, buildings and atmospheric conditions can affect the light and visible horizon. Times use your watch's time zone. Requires watchOS 10 or later; live compass heading depends on supported hardware.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account on confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-06

New photo planner: choose landscape, portrait or city lights, see upcoming golden/blue-hour windows and phase-specific shooting tips, and preview a plan before sharing. Improved midnight and polar handling, more precise dark-sky boundaries, correct Moon dates across daylight-saving changes, clearer location and Pro explanations, and more selective time-sensitive alerts.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-31

No changes on the watch this time. This release refreshes Daylume's App Store page so photographers searching for blue hour and golden light can actually find it. Everything on your wrist works exactly as before.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-30

The Pro screen was written in English no matter which language your watch was set to. It now speaks German, Japanese and Turkish like the rest of Daylume.

On a watch that had just been set up, the Pro options sometimes came back empty. Daylume now gives the App Store up to 15 seconds to answer instead of 1.6.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-22

• The Daylume Pro screen no longer opens empty when the App Store is slow to answer. It waits, retries up to three times, and says plainly if the store really cannot be reached — instead of showing an error before it has even asked.

• Daylume Pro: the whole golden-hour and blue-hour plan for the days ahead, saved locations, and a tap on your wrist when the light turns.
• Bought Daylume when it was a paid app? Pro is yours permanently, at no extra cost — nothing to restore, nothing to pay.
• The App Store page now lists every language the app actually speaks, not just English.
