### 2/5 — They totally changed the app with no warning

*2026-05-31, version 2.0.2*

I accidentally chose a teen account and there’s no way to undo it - I’m an adult! Also the app totally changed from offering discounts on goods to a totally different model. Not cool.

### 5/5 — Should offer real payout methods

*2025-11-10, version 1.1.15*

What am I possibly earning if I’m expected to spend it in the marketplace that’s offered instead of cashing out the money I earned, this is a scam

### 2/5 — Great idea

*2025-10-13*

I’ve been doing rewards apps for a long time and this model is the most frustrating, and has been done over and over. I understand that Dayo pays with value but it’s subjective to what the reward discounts are worth. What is the most deceiving is that users must spend money to enjoy the benefits of the rewards, so we are actually not getting paid at all. It’s also not doing any favors by bringing yet another app we allow to data mine and hope that you don’t get hacked and lose all of our personal info, behavior trends to the dark web. The least you could offer is a $5 gift card. Maybe after like 5000 hours of not using Tik Tok but it would still be more transparent than what you are currently offering. I hope it gets better!

### 2/5 — You don’t make $

*2025-08-16, version 1.1.14*

You try to quit your habits on here and yet you don’t make any money it tells you the amount but something you picked out you still pay the same price as they’re asking it’s pointless

### 5/5 — Amazing application😍

*2025-08-12, version 1.1.13*

I find this app amazing as it helped me to scroll less Thanks team dayo!

### 3/5 — Loved Dayo

*2025-08-11, version 1.1.13*

Extraordinary app!!!

### 3/5 — Limited products and not much savings

*2025-08-10*

If it was easy to set up and not intrusive day to day. The money you earn avoiding social media goes towards discounts on various products - but the selection is really small, things are often out of stock, and most of the deals are not that great. If they could offer more products and better prices it would help a lot.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for giving Dayo a try. We hear you. When we launched a couple of months ago, our marketplace was small and some items went quickly. Since your review, we’ve been adding new brands every week, including Gucci, Prada, and many others, and we’ll continue expanding so there’s always a wide variety of great deals to choose from. We’re still new, and your feedback helps us grow in the right direction. Thanks again for being part of the journey.

### 5/5 — Amazing app, reduced my social media use by 75%!

*2025-08-09*

This app is fantastic and it really works. My social media screen time has been under 30 minutes a day TOTAL for months now. I don’t miss social, and I have way more time to think about other things, connect with friends, and have hobbies. The rewards are great too. I find the interface of the app intuitive and easy to use, and they are always improving it and adding more rewards to their store. Great job, Dayo!

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2025-08-09*

I love having a moment to reflect whether there is some reason I need to keep using social media that day and nine out of ten times the answer is no! So I love getting my credit in the store and put my phone down to do other things!!

### 5/5 — Finally! An App that works!

*2025-08-07*

I’ve been using Dayo for a few months now, and I’m finally seeing a real shift in my screen time after trying so many other approaches that didn’t stick. The concept is smart and genuinely motivating—you earn credits by meeting your screen time goals, which you can then use as discounts on a wide variety of products in their marketplace.

To clear up some confusion I’ve seen in other reviews: the money you earn isn’t something you cash out—it goes toward purchases within the app. But with their growing list of brands and products, I’ve had no trouble finding things I actually want, which makes it feel truly rewarding and relevant.

It’s helped me save money and finally break some of my social media habits. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a practical, positive way to spend less time online.

### 2/5 — Can’t Register without an email address

*2025-07-26, version 1.1.12*

Trying to register with this app but it requires an email address associated with social media accounts… I don’t register social media with email addresses. I use my phone number…

### 5/5 — Something Powerful Here

*2025-07-14*

The folks at dayo have created an incredible product. In order to decrease unwanted behavior, we need to say yes to other things instead it no over and over. My social media usage has plummeted bc of app.

While the overall app has bugs & UX needs work, I’ve seen it continually improve in my short time of being on the app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What a joke.

*2026-05-29, version 2.0.2*

Like the previous two reviews, I had $1400 in “Dayo dollars” that completely vanished with this silly banana update. I also bought a Powell’s gift card for my mother, prior to the update, that she never got. $80 down the drain. This app is yet another huge scam run by scammers.

### 1/5 — Super bummed!

*2026-05-26, version 2.0.1*

First iterations were great! Original 30/min day system worked well, as did deals with myself, and loved earning rewards and discounts. Incredibly disappointed to have lost all of that with this new update. Not interested in “totems.”

### 1/5 — Update lost everything

*2026-05-23, version 2.0.0*

I had hundreds of dollars in rewards that are gone from this new update.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-11-01, version 1.1.15*

Fake dollars you can’t use. It’s just a discount and the discount amount is the exact same amount as currently offered on the brands website with discount codes. Just another scammy app making money and tracking you while claiming to be a self-help app to decrease scrolling

### 1/5 — misleading

*2025-09-17, version 1.1.15*

This app simply replaces mindless scrolling with unneeded shopping. You do not get the ability to buy an item in full using the credit you earn. Instead, you receive a discount. So what is the point?

### 1/5 — No You Cannot Enjoy Earnings All At Once!

*2025-08-06, version 1.1.13*

The app is slick, well designed and without many bugs. The issue I have is that they limit how much of your earnings you can use per item.
If you have a particular item you want, your efforts are not fully rewarded. If an item costs $100 you can maybe use your earnings towards $15 of the total cost
That is lame!

### 1/5 — You still pay

*2025-08-06, version 1.1.13*

Don’t get your hopes up about this app. You can save in your wallet but they are just offering you discounts on products… you still have to pay out of pocket if you want to purchase anything.

### 1/5 — Earn Money Daily???

*2025-07-14, version 1.1.10*

“Earn Money Daily”..that is the phrase they use in their own marketing. What do such words mean to you? Apparently, “money” means discounts, so, as many others have noted, their advertising is highly deceptive. In no way do you earn “money” by any reasonable definition of the word. If you feel deceived and write that in your review, someone at Dayo is likely to respond to your comment to argue the point. “It’s CLEARLY stated that they’re discounts and not *real* money”. Something like that. Fine. But your marketing includes no such disclaimer.

Suggestion for Dayo: 1) Quit lying; 2) Quit arguing with your customers. The fact that this even needs to be said makes me extremely doubtful that Dayo will be around for very long.

### 1/5 — Can’t actually buy anything with reward money

*2025-07-03, version 1.1.9*

The app claims that you’re accumulating money, but then it will only apply a fraction of it two different things that you’re trying to buy even if your “wallet” has more money than that.

### 1/5 — Not getting paid

*2025-07-02, version 1.1.9*

They make it seem like you earn money but you’re just earning a discount. And not even a good discount. You can make more money on social media if you stay focused. Not only that but everything is pretty much sold out. Great concept if you could actually earn money this would be great!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App, important work

*2026-04-13, version 1.1.26*

Love the concept of Dayo, and their execution helps serve a real need, reducing doom scrolling while giving you perks to address the FOMO

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-03-29, version 1.1.26*

Dayo is user friendly and has helped reduce fights with my teen over screen time. My teen is excited to earn money if she stays in the screen time limit and it’s been motivating!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-03-27, version 1.1.26*

This app is totally win-win deal both parents and children. Your children earning money and staying away from social media. The parents are more comfortable with this.

### 5/5 — Dayo Helps

*2026-03-26*

I like how the system works and how it still gives you freedom by letting you bypass the limit but punishing you for it. Also it’s a great solution for parents helping their kids as they can slowly build money and spend it on the app with discounts although there selection isn’t amazing you can still get gift cards to loads of stores but just with no dayo discounts.

### 5/5 — Great idea for managing screen time

*2026-03-24, version 1.1.26*

I really like the concept behind Dayo. It’s not just about reducing screen time—it actually gives a reason to do it. I’ve been using it to stay more intentional during the day, and I love how it connects habits with real rewards. Simple, but very smart idea.

### 5/5 — Less Socials = Better health for real

*2026-03-18*

Update: I’ve had this app since it launched and I’m just popping in to say I’ve upped it to 5 stars. All the original little things I didn’t like got changed in the new versions and I so so happy with Dayo.

It’s been helpful for me and my teenager as well with the dayo deals. So nice to not have to talk about screen time every day with her. It’s taken a lot of the nagging and I know how long she’s been on by how much she gets at the end of the deal and it is actually working. She is on her phone less. What a gift.

Original Review:
I have been looking for an app like this. Like so many of us I am on the socials more than I want to be. It always starts fine, let’s check your feed, I need to post something for work, I need to post something for myself, and literally the addiction and habit of scrolling has been sucking me in like a black hole.

What I like about Dayo:
- it’s so pretty and calming the colors and design is minimal and soothing so right away I’m able to calm the mind and that always supports healthier habits for me.
- the interface is super simple and straightforward
- I can see progress over time in the statistics
- YOU GET REWARDS, REAL ONES! For not being on the socials
- I especially like the messaging in the notifications. So it will let you know when you used your points for the day and you are dipping into what would be “prize money” these messages are soft and kind and encouraging
- it refreshes everyday so if one day is a busy it’s really okay.
- I have been experiencing real shifts in my social use and that’s worth it all by its self.

Overall it’s absolutely a fantastic app. Would recommend. It’s a win win completely.

### 5/5 — Suzanne Nadell - Busy Mom

*2026-03-17, version 1.1.24*

My family and I are already loving this app. It’s led to great conversations about screening, money, saving and priorities. I look forward to seeing how the progress goes.

### 5/5 — good idea well executed!

*2026-03-16*

I didn't think that I needed Dayo until I started using it. If you really want to cut down on screen time then Dayo is a great way to do it, while also getting good deals! Cutting down on screentime is something that all of us should do anyways. I think being given an incentive through Dayo Deals is a great way of doing things

### 5/5 — Best Screen Time Motivator for Me

*2025-12-16*

I’ve tried several different Screen Time apps, including Apple’s built-in system, with varying results. By far, the biggest motivator I’ve come across has been Dayo’s dollar-earning, discount-giving reward system. The app is solid, and the people behind it are even better. I recommend this app to everyone I know who is struggling to reduce their screen time.

### 5/5 — Excellent App for Screen Time Control

*2025-12-05, version 1.1.16*

This app really helped me reduce my screen time. The features are simple, effective, and easy to use. The overall experience is smooth, and it genuinely encourages better habits. Highly recommended!
