## What is DAYPACK?

Where is that photo?

The one you want to show never comes up. Two kinds of photos are filling your camera roll.

The first kind you could delete but haven't. Bursts, near-duplicates, screenshots. These can go. Deciding is just tedious.

The second kind you can't bring yourself to delete. Photos of your kid. The 300 you took on that trip. An ordinary afternoon. Not the best shot, but not deletable either. So they stay.

Ordinary photo cleaners only know how to delete. They never touch the second kind, so the bulkiest part of your library survives every cleanup.

DAYPACK never deletes on its own. Only the photos you decide on.

Most photo cleanup gives you two choices. DAYPACK has a third.

- Keep — favorites stay as photos
- PACK — the ones you can't decide on become a single clip, in the order you shot them
- Delete — the rest leave your Photos app

Keeping everything is lazy. Deleting everything is reckless. PACK is where the undeletable ones go.

■ Shrink what you can't delete

Turn 300 photos into one clip and 300 rows leave your camera roll. The contents stay in shooting order, ready to watch any time.

They no longer live as photos. They live as frames inside one clip. You can stop on any frame and pull it back out, though not at the original quality.

■ Just swipe

Photos come one at a time. Swipe right to keep, left to delete, down to PACK. About a second each. A grid mode lets you pick in bulk.

■ See what actually left

Sorted and actually removed are counted separately, along with the space you freed.

■ Delete with confidence

- Nothing is deleted on its own. Every deletion goes through your action and the iPhone confirmation dialog
- Watch the PACK first, then decide what happens to the originals
- Your photos never leave your device

### 1.9 — 2026-09-24

Receipts and screenshots are easier to spot. When you start sorting, photos taken for the record — receipts, documents, screenshots — are shown together first. Tap to select, then choose “Keep” or “Remove”. Kept photos go back into the usual sorting, so whether they end up in the PACK is still up to you. The check runs entirely on your iPhone; no photo ever leaves it.

Other improvements:
- The thumbnail in the PACK list now picks the best-looking photo of that day automatically (for newly created PACKs)
- You can choose the thumbnail yourself: on the PACK screen, long-press a photo to enlarge it and tap “Set as thumbnail”

### 1.8 — 2026-09-18

Keep, delete, or PACK. Photo cleanup now has three choices. Sorting is now keep / delete / PACK. Packed photos become one clip that plays in shooting order, and you decide what happens to the originals after you've watched the PACK. The first time you pull a photo down, a single hint appears: “Can't decide? PACK it.”.

Other improvements:
- The PACK screen is new. Photos show large and uncropped, with the count and the time they were taken underneath. Skip with the arrows at either end of the strip; tap the photo to play or pause
- The PACK list is now one strip in date order. Days with photos you haven't sorted yet appear there too, and you can start sorting right from the list. PACKs whose originals you haven't decided on are grouped at the top
- A shared clip can have a white border with the count and time. Border, fit, time and logo are chosen in “Prepare to share”. Clips saved to Photos stay borderless
- The screen after sorting now says “N photos sorted” with a KEEP / PACK / DELETE breakdown. The number of photos removed from the Photos app and the space freed appear only after the originals are actually cleared
- You can finish a sort with keep and delete only, even if nothing was packed
- Wording is now consistent: pack → PACK, delete → delete, originals → original photos
- The review request appears once, after you've sorted 50 photos

### 1.7 — 2026-08-27

See which group is heaviest at a glance. Pick now has a sort order. Choose “By size” and the heaviest group moves to the top, so you no longer have to work down the list to find what's worth packing.

Other improvements:
- The estimate of how much you'll save now comes from your own photos, so people with lots of screenshots and people who shoot large photos both see realistic numbers
- A pack you share now comes out in the shape you saw on screen
- Photos taken before this year now show the year alongside the time
- The Home Screen icon now has the same paper color as the app. Prefer black? You can switch back under “App icon” in settings
- Pack covers in the list are now square, with corners rounded to match the pack view
- Delete buttons are now red, so they're easier to tell apart from other actions

### 1.6 — 2026-08-20

The pack list now has a calendar. Switch between “List” and “Calendar” at the top of the list. Days you've packed are filled with the pack's cover, and days with photos you haven't packed yet show how many, so you can see at a glance what's left. Tap a day to pack it right there, or use “Select days” to pack several days at once.

Other improvements:
- Fixed the close button sometimes not closing a pack you were viewing
- Fixed the screen sometimes staying open after you deleted a pack
- Photos are a little bigger while you view a pack — the spare space at the bottom is gone
- Tidied up the prices in DAYPACK Pro, with no stray decimals
