## What is DayPilot?

Every to-do app hands you a list and wishes you luck.

DayPilot shows you one thing.

One card, at a time. What to do right now, when to start it, and when to
leave. Swipe it away and the next one comes up.

WORKS BACKWARDS, NOT FORWARDS

A deadline is a place you have to be by a certain time. If a meeting is at
3:00 and it's forty minutes away, you don't need a reminder at 3:00 — you
need one at 2:05. DayPilot does that maths for every event, using real
drive times.

The same works for tasks. Something that takes three hours and is due at
midnight isn't a midnight problem. It's a 9pm problem. Tell DayPilot how
long a task takes and it surfaces at the last moment you could still start
and be fine.

ONE CARD, FIVE STATES

Red — time to leave, with the drive and directions
Yellow — a deadline close enough that you need to start now
Green — a routine that's due
Blue — nothing pressing, pick something
Grey — genuinely done for the day

THE GLANCE

Your whole day as one bar: what's committed, what's free, when you're
waking up, when you're winding down. Tap any gap to drop something in.

FOR STUDENTS

Subscribe to your Canvas calendar and your assignments stop being invisible
all-day entries. DayPilot turns them into real deadlines with start times,
grouped by course, so a term paper doesn't ambush you at 11:44pm. Set once
how long a course's work usually takes and every assignment inherits it.

ALSO

Live Activities on your lock screen · Home screen widgets · Smart alarms
that wake you in time for your first commitment, travel included ·
Checklists for the things that aren't tasks · Works with Apple Reminders
and Calendar, nothing to migrate

No account. No sign-up.

CANVAS ASSIGNMENTS

Subscribe to your Canvas calendar and your assignments become real
deadlines instead of invisible all-day entries. They show up on your card,
in the Glance and in Search, with the course code on them. Set how long a
course's work usually takes and every assignment inherits it, so a big one
surfaces early instead of at midnight.

NOTIFICATIONS YOU CONTROL

A master switch plus separate toggles for each kind of alert, and you can
choose when the morning summary arrives.

THREE NUMBERS THAT WERE FIXED ARE NOW YOURS

Get-ready time, default task length and wind-down time all live in
Settings › Planning.

REBUILT SETTINGS

Grouped, searchable, and considerably less of a maze.

FIXED

Ticking something off in the Glance no longer un-ticks itself · A repeating
event alerts for every occurrence, not just the first · Search returns
results again · The add form opens at your chosen default length · Faster
launch from cold

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-27

A fresh look, and fixes to when things appear.

NEW LOOK
- Rebuilt navigation with a floating add button, and a quick picker for adding a task, event, routine or alarm.
- Redesigned status bar with the new glass material.
- Restyled sheets and forms throughout.
- Refreshed onboarding.

TIMING FIXES
- A task you could finish later no longer pushes an event to the front of the card.
- Working out whether a task fits before an event now counts the drive and the time to get ready, not just the work itself.
- The get-ready card picks whichever event you need to leave for first, even if another one starts sooner.
- Drive times are calculated for every place you need to be today, not just the next one.
- An event you swiped away stays away when it runs past midnight.
- Routines set to weekdays no longer land on a weekend.
- A task with both a start time and a deadline surfaces at whichever comes first.
- Fixes to how blocks are drawn in the day view.
