## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-27

What's new in 1.6.0:

NEW RULE TEMPLATES
• Thailand, as a pair: a stay counted per entry that a border crossing resets,
and a total across the calendar year that it does not. The same number
behaving in opposite ways — you can sit well inside one while over the other.
• Indonesia, where the yearly total is measured over a window that moves with
you instead of resetting in January.
• UAE, built the other way round: a floor to stand above rather than a ceiling
to stay under, for a status you have to show you earned.

FIXES
• The Tax Residency card on Home counted past zero and kept going. Once a
country crossed the 183-day threshold it reported a negative number of days
"to threshold"; it now shows how far past it you are.
• A stay tracked in the background could quietly split in two. Waking on a
location event often resolves the country but not the city, and the country's
name was being recorded as the city — which read as a move somewhere new, so
a months-long trip grew a second entry beside the real one. The stay you are
  already in now carries on.
• Tapping anywhere inside a day-count field selects the whole number, so typing
replaces it. Pressing near the edge used to leave a cursor instead.

### 1.5.2 — 2026-08-12

What's new in 1.5.2:

THE BREAKDOWN INSIDE A PER-ENTRY RULE NOW MATCHES THE COUNT ABOVE IT
• Fixed: on a "per entry" rule, the "Breakdown by country" section ignored
entries entirely and totalled every day you had ever spent in the country.
A card could read "0 of 30 used" and, right underneath, "Thailand 54 days".
The breakdown now covers the same entry as the count above it, and shows
nothing when you are not currently in the country.
• Rolling-window rules such as Schengen 90/180 and calendar-year rules keep
their own windows, exactly as before.

Thank you again to the traveller who sent the screenshot that pinned this
down.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-08-11

What's new in 1.5.1:

PER-ENTRY LIMITS NOW COUNT FROM THE BORDER
• Fixed: on a "per entry" rule, the day counter restarted every time you
moved to another city inside the same country, so it reported fewer days
than you had actually used. It now counts from the moment you entered the
country and resets only when you leave it.
• If you use a per-entry rule and have travelled between cities, your day
count will go up after this update. The higher number is the correct one —
please check it against your passport stamps.
• Rolling-window rules such as Schengen 90/180 and calendar-year rules were
  never affected.

SMALLER THINGS
• Day counts in rule settings are easier to edit: the number itself is now
the control, and you can tap it and type straight away.

Thank you to the traveller who wrote in about a Thailand count that looked
wrong — that report is what uncovered this.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-10

What's new in 1.5.0:

RULES THAT EXPLAIN THEMSELVES
• Rule templates as starting points for Schengen, tax residency, and residence permits — pick one and adjust, nothing is set in stone
• Live preview while you edit a rule: see the verdict change as you change the numbers
• Each jurisdiction counts days its own way, and now the app counts them that way too

COUNTRY DETAIL
• New country screen showing exactly which days were counted and where each one came from
• Detailed rule cards on Statistics open straight into their editor

MORE RELIABLE TRACKING
• Background tracking no longer stops when you stay in one place
• Days at sea are logged, and flyover countries are ignored
• Offline land mask, so days at sea are still counted without a signal

BACKUP & FILES
• iCloud backup that actually runs, with a plain statement of what it sends
• One archive format for export, import, and recovery
• Files: documents open where you tap them

ONBOARDING
• See the app working before it asks for permissions or data

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-01

What's new in 1.4.0:

FRESH DESIGN
• Refined visual identity with light and dark themes (follows your system setting)
• Home is now a true glance screen: every rule in one compact compliance card
• Calendar shows trips as colored ranges per country
• New charts in Statistics

DAYSABROAD PREMIUM
• PDF Reports — polished day-count reports for tax and immigration paperwork, including a "Time Outside a Country" report for citizenship and residency applications
• Calendar Export — add your travel history and planned trips straight to Apple or Google Calendar
• Widget Builder — compose medium and large home-screen widgets from any metrics: current place, visa counters, residence rules, tax residency alerts

FREE FOR EVERYONE
• Home-screen widget with the metric of your choice
• More reliable background tracking: days are now counted correctly even when you stay in one place overnight
• Tracking Health panel in Settings
