### 3/5 — Stripe Services Don’t Like

*2025-11-23, version 9.5.6*

I like the software and booking but I don’t like the Stripe Card Service Software. I have the M2 Card Reader so when my clients get charged their service fee I have to manually add the 2.6 % transaction fee + .10 cents and if a client leaves a tip stripe double takes the transaction fee. I don’t feel like my tip amount should have anything to do with the transaction. For example, if my client’s service totals $95, the transaction fee on top of that would be $97.57. When Stripe runs the transaction they take 2.6% + .10 cents out of $97.57 instead of $95. Then if my clients leaves me a $10 tip, Stripe takes the 2.6% + .10 cent fee out of the $107.57! I HATE! this part of the card system service that comes with the booking system!

I have been busy with other things as a small business owner and something I recently noticed while trying to save up for a house, is that I haven’t been receiving all my money. I’ll check a client out through the system and when it get deposited it doesn’t include the tip or the full service price. Example: I checked a client out with her service being $85 and including tip the total was $100, when it deposited into my account I only recorded 76… at first I just thought it took some time for it to register the tip but it doesn’t even deposit the service price!?! I did the math of one month of how much it says I made in the system and how much I actually received in my bank account and I’m missing over $1500! I liked this app for a while but that is just straight up robbery!! Owning a small business is already expensive enough where I spend $61 a month for the subscription, they take out a percentage every month of how much I make, on top of not giving me all my money!!!

I found DaySmart on ChatGPT after directing it to help me find and well-rounded platform that has all the gadgets a Facial Specialist will need regarding administrative and clientele organization. This is the first platform I use of this type and I really appreciate how the system is really straightforward to use when you take your time to play around the site. Regardless, there’s easily accessible communication between you and literally anyone from the DaySmart team. The communication and frequent check-up calls to ensure I’m using the platform to its fullest extent has been top-tier. I literally tell them they’re so nice and awesome every call I’ve had since I started. Truly 10/10.

This system is still terrible… extremely unhappy with it…. There is always something wrong and right now the whole system is down.  I cant check anyone out, i cant book anyone, i cant even see the schedule!! This is costing me time and money now and i am going to switch! But no one will answer the phone nor can you even call them either….never had a prob when it was salon iris… soon as it switched to daysmart it sucked!! The product counts don’t stay correct… the online booking shows times available in stylists books that are not…. please do yourself a favor and use a different company… trust me!!

This was once a great system. Sadly there is absolutely no support. You will wait forever, and ironically it’s only through text! They have changed many things since Salon  Iris changed to Day smart. I can’t login through a MacBook, or my iPad its just a white screen. I never had these issues before!

I have been using this online booking service for 10 years now and it is amazing! Only 2 or 3 times in the whole 10 years was there a short glitch the system was down and resumed very promptly with no loss of appts or info. I highly recommend!

Honestly this is the biggest pain to set up and it’s very inconsistent. Everyone is better off using GlossGenius. It only took me a few minutes to set up compared to DaySmart where it took me almost a week. DaySmart requires a computer to create/edit your website. GlossGenius has everything done from your phone, it’s super quick and simple, and the booking site is much more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use from a client’s prospective. Seriously please save your time and money and download GlossGenius because it’s amazing. I now understand why so many people are switching over!
