### 5/5 — Magic

*2024-09-11*

I’ve been a DayTwo member since the early days, almost 6 years now. I’ve used the app on and off over that time and they continue to make improvements.

Even though I am not diabetic, diabetes runs in my family. Now that continuous glucose monitors are available over the counter, I’ve gotten one and am blown away by the ability of DayTwo to predict my glucose response. It’s amazing!!!

I have NO idea why every major news outlet isn’t covering what they’ve achieved. Last week I was on a plane and had with me English toffee and string cheese. I wanted to buy a nip of baileys and make an Irish coffee.

I didn’t want to spike my sugar because there was no way to exercise off the extra glucose. I entered what I wanted into the app, hit the AI button and it told me I could have a piece of toffee, two pieces of string cheese and my Irish coffee. It was right! I had my treats and my glucose hardly moved.

I’ve learned bread and rice are pretty much poison for me and chocolate is usually okay…. But that’s what makes the app genius… I don’t have to guess. It tells me and it’s correct.

(My doctor even tested my postprandial insulin response and that was improved too.)

I get to eat a huge variety of food and I’m always satisfied after a meal. I don’t have that urge to keep eating. I feel like I finally have control AND flexibility.

The new’ish AI feature is awesome! The latest update is a bit slow to load but I’m sure they’ll fix that.

I highly recommend the DayTwo program!

### 1/5 — Poor change to app makes it not worth using

*2023-06-20*

I thought this app was much better before they changed the data display. You used to be able to keep a running total score for the day of all the things you have eaten. That is no longer available as the app only does a single meal relative to the scoring. This makes it much less valuable as I can’t know how I did on a given day which is much more important than a single meal, snack or beverage. As a result I rarely use the app anymore and no longer recommend it. Support told me they wants people to focus more on individual meals and not get disheartened by a bad day. Thanks big brother but the app was better before. I like using the full data how I want to use it.

### 5/5 — Solid, well written app

*2023-06-16*

I have found this app very useful in tracking my health. The app is rock stable, runs smoothly, and has a vast food database that rarely comes up empty. It’s easy to use.

### 5/5 — DayTwo

*2023-06-16*

Using this app. I have lowered my a1c from 7.5. To 5.8. Also has helped me lose 50 pounds. As well as changing my eating habits

### 1/5 — By far the worst way I wasted money ever.

*2022-06-01*

Find another company. This one is useless.
They give you no information on what food is good for you or bad for you they mostly give you recipes lol. This company is a joke.

### 1/5 — Great idea, very poor execution

*2022-01-24*

I really liked the idea behind this company, but I have to say the app is not delivering in all of the promises. There’s no way (at least not that I found) to really understand what are the better foods for you as a person. You instead of getting a list of items to consider you have to do it by trial and error. Enter a meal and we’ll tell you whether it’s good for you or not. Good luck using this app

### 1/5 — Much better ways to get more accurate information

*2021-04-08, version 2.6.0*

This product is in beta still but I have used two other beta health improvement products this last year that were light years ahead in their product quality as well as their communication about the product and product problems.

I ordered this product about the time I got a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to monitor my blood glucose (BG), hoping to improve my health. The hope for this app, based on their product description, was to get similar feedback about what foods specifically were best for me to eat to improve my health, including BG levels and A1C. After all that is what they advertised their product did.

When I used daytwo to check out foods the CGM showed were bad for me the daytwo showed most of these food had a score of 9 or higher. These were the same foods that had raised my fasting BG and A1C over the years.

DayTwos response was that a BG level of 180 after eating was acceptable in their app. They base that on the fact that someone long ago decided it was ok for diabetic type I patients to be that high. However those same people also say diabetes is a degenerative disease and once you have it (including type II diabetes) you will over time get very severe health conditions and die early.

As a potential user of this app, I suggest you look at some of the groups using the last 20 years of research and clinical data regarding managing diabetes (type I and type II). Type I diabetics, using a CGM are able to keep their blood sugars stable between 70 and 110 and avoid the wild roller coaster ride of BG steep rises and falls while not only improving their immediate health but also improving their long term health and life length. Type II diabetics can do this even easier. There is no reason to set the bar so low foe improving health (allowing spikes up to 180).

There are also other big issues. As others have said the database has problems. Food was severely limited. They loaded in a lot more foods but often the same food shows up multiple times and with different ratings (e.g. one fresh raw ingredient showed 5 of that item rated 9s and one of the exact same ingredient and amount rated a 2. So do you eat it or not.

The only way to enter a food not in the database is to send an email with pictures of the labels. No acknowledgment or feedback it was entered. Some I sent were there a couple weeks later, some never showed.

The database has recipes. You enter chicken and it will show you recipes that contain chicken. You can sort them by score. However it gives you only the ingredients, no instructions so you are guessing how to make that meal.

Communications are very slow (weeks for a response commonly) and often the answer is very brief and not compete.

Overall there are products that will inform you what foods specific to you) will improve your health much more accurately than this one will and are much easier to use with much better support.

### 5/5 — Custom nutrition guidance

*2021-01-11*

This is the only app focused on blood sugar personalized to my body’s sensitivity to specific food. I’ve done all the blood sugar testing myself on various foods in the microbiome testing from day two is pretty close to what my tests showed. No other app can do that.

### 2/5 — Yael Lotan

*2021-01-10*

This app is difficult to use and suffers from annoying bugs such as prompting a message about the kit being delivered EVEVRY time you open the app.
Also, I was expecting to have a way to add comments to the food diary but no such (basic) ability is to be found. Overall I think this app is not working well enough to be used on a daily basis for the long run.

### 5/5 — Much Improved Version

*2020-12-02*

This new version is a fantastic improvement over the old one. It now has lots of fast food restaurants in their menu items listed. Also lots of namebrand products. It is actually useful now! Diabetes is pretty much under control, but this app will let me expand my menu choices greatly.
