## What is DBSentinel For Oracle Database?

Your Oracle just broke and you are nowhere near your computer. DB Sentinel connects straight to the database, shows you what is happening in seconds, and lets you act — from your phone.

NO SERVER IN BETWEEN
The app talks directly to your Oracle. There is no backend of ours, no telemetry, and no data from your database ever leaves your phone. Credentials live in the iOS Keychain, protected by Face ID or a PIN.

SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING (FREE)
• Overview with an incident panel: instance, uptime, sessions and whatever is out of place
• Health: tablespaces, wait events, memory and processes
• Sessions: filters, search, full detail and the lock chain — who is blocking whom
• Invalid objects: list, count and the compilation errors for each one
• Object browser: tables, views, indexes, procedures, packages, triggers and more, with columns, constraints, dependencies, grants, size and the full DDL
• Scheduler jobs: schedule, state, run history, logs, arguments and the failures of the last 24 hours
• Privileges: finds exactly which grants are missing and explains ORA errors
• Demo mode: explore the whole app without an Oracle

FIX IT (PRO)
• Kill the blocking session — including on AWS RDS
• SQL worksheet: run SQL and PL/SQL, with autocomplete for schemas, tables and columns and a shortcut bar above the keyboard
• Recompile invalid objects, one at a time or all at once
• Operate objects: gather statistics, rebuild an index, enable and disable triggers and constraints, refresh a materialized view
• Operate jobs: run now, stop, enable and disable
• Unlimited connections, saved columns and filters, and a full audit history

BUILT SO YOU DO NOT SLIP
Every action that changes the database asks for explicit confirmation, with a stronger warning when the connection is marked as Production, and re-authentication with Face ID or a PIN before destructive actions. Everything is recorded in a local audit log. DROP, TRUNCATE and structural ALTER TABLE do not exist in the app — on purpose.

LANGUAGES
English, Portuguese, Spanish and German. Light and dark themes.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-09-26

OBJECT BROWSER
Browse the data dictionary without writing a line of SQL: pick the schema, the type and the object, and see columns, indexes, constraints, triggers, dependencies, grants, size and the full DDL — with "copy DDL" and "open in SQL worksheet". Browsing is free. With Pro you can also compile, gather statistics, rebuild an index, enable and disable triggers and constraints, and refresh a materialized view.

SCHEDULER JOBS
See your DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs with quick filters for running, failed, disabled and broken. In the detail: the schedule in plain language, the run history with duration and error, the log, the arguments and the database session running right now. The 24-hour failure counter opens straight into the list of what broke. Legacy DBMS_JOB entries get their own read-only section. With Pro: run now, stop, enable and disable.

A FASTER SQL WORKSHEET
A shortcut bar above the keyboard with the characters and keywords you use most, and autocomplete for schemas, tables, views and columns as you type — resolving names in the same order Oracle does, PUBLIC synonyms included.

FIXES
• The keyboard shortcut bar never appeared on iOS
• Autocomplete did not suggest objects from your own schema or PUBLIC synonyms
• An error when opening a job detail, and stretched filter rows on wide screens

### 1.4 — 2026-09-22

• Subscription price and trial period now always shown exactly as configured on your account (never a generic fallback value)
• Face ID/Touch ID (or PIN) confirmation is now required before destructive actions on connections marked as Production
• Commands like CALL, EXEC, and PL/SQL blocks now also require confirmation, alongside the rest of the data-altering actions
• Backup PIN now has progressive lockout against repeated wrong attempts
• Read-only mode is now also enforced directly at the database connection, in addition to the UI

### 1.3 — 2026-09-16

In this version:
• New: Incident Panel on the Overview screen, with a copyable diagnosis and a shortcut to the lock chain
• New: instance health history (trend over time)
• New: environment tags (Production/Staging/Dev), per-connection read-only mode and SQL templates
• New: built-in Oracle operational glossary and global search across connections
• New: onboarding flow for first-time users
• New: German language support
• Visual refresh (new color palette, app icon, and more professional shortcut icons)
• Navigation fixes: the Back button now always goes to the right screen, even through chained screens (Overview → Health → Sessions)
• Various accessibility improvements and audit export

### 1.2 — 2026-09-11

Fixes an issue where active Pro subscribers could be sent back to the subscription screen after reopening the app. Subscription status is now checked correctly on launch.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-07

What's new in 1.1:
• Overview: instance status, sessions, invalid objects, and tablespaces in one screen
• Instance Health: quick diagnostics with clear OK/Warning/Error status
• Redesigned session detail: 25+ fields, a visual lock chain diagram, and a copy button
• Quick filters and search in the session list (Active, Blocked, Blockers, Jobs)
• Demo mode: explore the whole app with realistic sample data — no real Oracle required
• Invalid Objects: listing and count are now available on the Free plan
• Various visual and stability improvements
