### 4/5 — Good way to review skills

*2024-06-20, version 3.8*

I like this app. However, I find the many spelling errors, typos, and grammatical issues rather distracting.

### 4/5 — Very helpful and good self testing of knowledge and skills

*2022-06-02, version 3.8*

Hey!
I started this app last night, coming from someone who does have BPD amongst some other illnesses including Anxiety and Depression etc although I have only competed 1 DBT module (Distress Tolerance) I have managed to get to level 7, I think many others would find this practical and easy enough too. Although I am stuck on level 7 (Judgemental/ non-judgemental) which is a skill apart of a different module out of the 4 DBT modules 1) Mindfullness 2) Distress Tolerance 3) Interpersonal Effectiveness/ Communication and 4) Emotional Regulation. A few years ago I did the short version of DBT, I was inpatient for a month so this course covered many aspects although I found not enough time, jammed what’s suppose to be a 6-12 month program into 1 month. I would still recommend it. I am using this app now to help me test my memory on DBT and in hopes to learn more as I wait to try and get into DBT again. My plans and I would recommend especially if you may have memory/ concentration/ comprehension difficulties is to complete DBT (fully) twice (the full course and with 1 on 1 sessions)
The only reason for the 4 stars is for me, having to pay to get access to the entire app, although it is not too pricey around $5
Best of luck everyone, trust me, you can do this, I have been diagnosed for 7 years, I’m 25 and it really is possible, much love :) xo

### 4/5 — Real life examples

*2018-06-19, version 1.3*

This app gives you real life examples using DBT. Of course knowing about DBT before hand is advantageous.

### 4/5 — Good refresher on DBT skills

*2018-05-29, version 1.3*

This app made reviewing DBT skills fun.

### 4/5 — Helpful!

*2018-05-21, version 1.3*

Love this app! Interesting interface, ads are annoying, but tolerable. Really enjoying it so far overall, and finding its info and applications educational and quite helpful.

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2018-05-15, version 1.3*

Have only played a few levels, so far it's been good. A fun way to remind yourself of DBT skills, liked the use of videos to enhance the point. Only gripe so far is the spelling. They mentioned fixing spelling, there's still a bit to go though.

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2018-04-14, version 1.3*

This app is a nice way to help someone practice seeing and using Wise Mind responses in order to regulate emotions and actions. Most of the attached videos did not work.

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful app

*2018-01-13, version 1.3*

The app itself could use a little work - it has a few minor bugs, but the info in it is very helpful, and so overall I think it's a great app because there are no other apps with the DBT information. Also, the developer contacted me regarding my review saying they are working on those things, and could not have been nicer, which meant a lot.

### 4/5 — Good Self Assessment

*2018-01-12, version 1.3*

I have borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, ptsd, and ADD, aka Dumpster Fire. I have 2 years of DBT behind me and this material matches it. Lets you think deep about being mindful of wise and emotional mind.

### 4/5 — Helps me learn the skills

*2017-12-26, version 1.3*

A new way to learn and review skills and progress through the modules

### 5/5 — Dbt

*2017-12-18, version 1.3*

This app is great it’s helped me to understand abit more about what I am going through and is good if you aren’t going through treatment or are on a waiting list this actually helps you gain skills to help yourself

### 5/5 — Handy and free

*2017-11-15, version 1.3*

It’s okay. I’m grateful it’s free. Some spelling and punctuation errors.

### 4/5 — Helpful!

*2017-10-16, version 1.3*

I found this app fun and helpful! Definitely a good use of my time instead of going on social media

### 5/5 — Wonderful app for people who have been through the DBT program

*2017-09-29, version 1.3*

I just began using this app today from past times. I took a13 week crash course of DBT four years ago which honestly was not effective.

After participating in Atlanta DBT for a year this app is a vital resource when doing the daily work to have the skills at your finger tips when needed.

Atlanta DBT is amazing BTW! I wish you all well on your journey.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Wish I could access instructions

*2024-05-20, version 3.8*

This app provides DBT related quizzes. Usually, I’d assume there is reading to study before taking a quiz. This app does not seem to offer that unfortunately. There is an Instructional section in the menu, which includes a resource with concise descriptions of 28 DBT skills. For some reason, this resource is grayed out. It appears to be behind a paywall. I’d really like to have access - doesn’t a pocket list of Dbt skills sound useful? So I paid for the premium version of the app. Nothing is gained from paying. I wish I had not spent money on this app. The instructional resources are still not available after paying. It appears they want you to pay for more things, including a diary, which I don’t need. Disappointing and strange.

### 1/5 — Ads ruined it they were obscene

*2019-09-08, version 2.03*

I was so turned off by the sexual ads generated after the quiz ended.

Disgusting.

### 1/5 — I paid and got nothing

*2019-06-26, version 2.03*

I love this app. I loved learning DBT until I ran out of lives. The game locked up and have the choices of purchasing the app or waiting for more lives. I purchased the app and nothing happened. Nothing. I still can't get it to unlock and there is no place to contact anyone to get help. I am writing this review to let people know and also hopefully get some customer service. Until then, 1 star.

### 1/5 — Purchased but can't get full version

*2018-09-04, version 2.02*

Doesn't let me use the full version despite my purchase thru itunes

### 2/5 — Spelling errors and incorrect words

*2017-08-07, version 1.3*

Emerge instead of immerse

### 2/5 — User

*2014-12-22, version 1.1*

I only downloaded the free app, which is a DBT quiz. It gave me some basic information about the theory underlying the practice, but it was useless beyond that.

### 3/5 — Almost Good

*2023-03-13, version 3.8*

There’s a lot to like here; it looks cool, there seems to be a ton of information, and navigating is pretty intuitive. That said, there are two things that ruined it for me. Firstly, the grammar and spelling is atrocious. So much so that it’s distracting. A copy writer or editor would be wise. Secondly, there are some questions and scenarios that seem to be a bit of a reach. They didn’t make sense. Anyhow, really cool idea and execution is easily fixable but it’s not quite there yet.

### 3/5 — Nice app but could use improvement

*2018-07-18, version 2.01*

I like this app as helps me focus on appropriate thoughts. I do not like the fact it does not seem to know you purchased the upgrade, and says if you know you upgraded, just click buy again and you will not be charged again. WRONG! I have been charged twice. Very disappointing.

The recent upgrade brings back all kinds so ads.

### 3/5 — 6x dbt Grp member

*2017-09-15, version 1.3*

It would be useful for those who have already been through 1 or 2 dbt groups

### 3/5 — Still deciding

*2017-03-01, version 1.3*

Still deciding not it's going to help or not

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2021-02-13, version 3.2*

It’s a good way to brush up on your skills knowledge. I do it once a day to help solidify the skills I’ve learnt and to help reinforce my skilful behaviour.

### 5/5 — It’s Fun!

*2019-03-06, version 2.03*

It’s just a fun game to see how many questions you get right about if a given scenario relates to the given skill. Then beat your previous score. It’s timed so there’s a sense of competition. If you want more in depth explanation (this is where you learn) tap on the question mark, they give great descriptions. It’s simply just a way to make DBT skills fun and competitive.

### 5/5 — DBTFOLIFE

*2018-06-14, version 1.3*

Phenomenon! Super fun way to continue DBT skills!

### 5/5 — Helpful and informative

*2018-06-05, version 1.3*

A fantastic way to help improve understanding of DBT skills and also keep everything you need to know fresh in your mind! Easy to use, clear and quite fun too.

### 5/5 — anyone can benefit from practicing DBT skills!

*2018-05-13, version 1.3*

love this app!

### 5/5 — Great practice for skills

*2018-05-05, version 1.3*

After spending 12 in DBT this is an awesome way of remembering your skills

### 5/5 — So far so good!

*2018-04-30, version 1.3*

My daughters therapist recommended it. She really likes it!

### 5/5 — Helps me with my DBT skills

*2018-04-26, version 1.3*

Provides realistic situations to help me understand what skills best fit a scenario

### 5/5 — Great app to hone DBT skills

*2018-04-15, version 1.3*

I am learning skills while using the app. You really have to enter that “wise mind” to answer correctly which is good practice for everyday.

### 5/5 — Great for staying sharp

*2018-03-07, version 1.3*

Wonderful practice for staying sharp on all DBT skills!
