It took at least five hours for me to try and put the information that needed to be there for adjudication. It has been a horrible experience dealing with their app on their DMV site. We were visitors staying at an Airbnb. We were told we could park for free on the street. We were not told that when a street is being washed that you have to move your car. We have never even heard of our street having to be washed! Being from a country area from another state, we had no idea and there were four of us that had no idea, and it was not communicated to us by the Airbnb owner. We also were told by the Airbnb owner that we were supposed to receive information to fill out a form for a permit to park on the street. At the time he was telling us this he looked on his phone to see about whether we got information or not, and realized we never got the information to fill out for a parking permit. In lieu of this, I would think that the DMV would be more understanding about this incident. We got tickets for the car being parked on the street because it was washed. We got a ticket twice for not having a permit which we knew nothing of. We got a ticket for the car being towed the day that the street was washed! We didn’t even get a permit from the owner of the Airbnb when he realized that we didn’t get anything to fill out for him to provide a permit. It was the day after he found out that we needed a permit! It is NOT a good experience for a visitor coming to Washington DC. It was the first time we had ever traveled to DC and this incident made it a horrible experience in many ways. And I’m still having to deal with it!!! We were there at the end of June and now it’s the end of August. Still having to deal with these tickets! This is absolutely ridiculous! The website should absolutely be revamped to work better! The app also told me that one of my tickets was invalid! I got an extra $45 charge for that! I feel as a visitor that we are being taken advantage of! ### 3/5 — Digital Registration Card *2025-07-04, version 1.1.13* I couldn’t add the digital registration card to iphone wallet. It gave me an error message saying they are experiencing some technical issues. Ticket payments through this app take 3-5 attempts minimum because it abruptly shuts down and closes every time you enter information and try to progress to the next screen, forcing you to start all over again. App is yet another example of how District of Columbia city services are a joke. Plus they announced the app by claiming you could save on a new 2.5% processing by paying for tickets through it instead of online or through other means, but within months they'd reversed that decision I mean lie. However, it was active this morning and the app is very efficient!!
