### 2/5 — Use the Moovit app instead

*2026-08-17, version 3.1.13*

I use Moovit & it’s always accurate this app is not

### 4/5 — Ads make it unusable

*2026-08-12, version 3.1.13*

Want to look at when a train is coming? 2 minute ad for gambling!
Want to look at another train line? Full screen lingerie!

I’m not a prude but I don’t need either of these vices on my train app to look at how long until the next train is.

Also wished they returned the outage tab and not listi g them on each train only.

### 1/5 — Too many ads

*2026-07-27, version 3.1.13*

Lots of invasive ads, I had trouble finding information I was looking for

### 1/5 — Ads are way too long

*2026-07-26, version 3.1.13*

Ads are so long and hard to exit out of that it can set you behind when trying to find out when a bus or train is arriving

### 1/5 — Shouldnt have ads…

*2026-07-25, version 3.1.13*

Sucks

### 1/5 — Garbage with ads

*2026-07-24, version 3.1.13*

Trash app. Has disabling pop ups. So if you’re in a rush and need the metro map a nice pop up is there to basically make you force close the app and start over with probably another pop up waiting. Avoid this trash.

### 1/5 — Ads make app completely pointless

*2026-07-21, version 3.1.13*

The benefit of an app like this is to quickly check the status of a bus or train, yeah? Except the ad that loads upon opening takes just about as long to wait and click (multiple times btw) through than the 6 min headways between trains. Not even worth the storage space on your device at that point.

### 1/5 — App Felt Scammish

*2026-07-20, version 3.1.13*

There was no account/subscription info within the app, showing subscription status or renewal date, or any instructions on how to cancel.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-07-16, version 3.1.13*

Trash pushing customers to paying for a service

### 1/5 — This apps inclusion of ads is ridiculous

*2026-07-15, version 3.1.13*

Every single time you open this app the first thing you see is a pop up to buy the premium account for the app. Then you have to sit through at least 2 ads before you get to the information you came to see. It’s just the metro, chill with the capitalism.

### 1/5 — Unnecessary “advertising”

*2026-07-13, version 3.1.13*

Why should those who can’t afford to purchase the full app have to see advertisements for games, etc. when we have to know right away when our bus comes before we miss it? It’s poor timing and poorly designed for this app when we have to catch the bus/rail and these advertisements pop up, then we can’t delete until it’s finished playing…. When we should be catching our public transit service.

### 1/5 — So bad

*2026-07-12, version 3.1.13*

Always trying to get me to pay extra.

### 1/5 — Predatory Ads to push you to buy a subscription to remove said Ads

*2026-07-08, version 3.1.13*

Clocked 2 Advertisement Videos at over 1min 30secs each before I’m even able to close or move to page with bus info. developers know what they are doing. Predatory and trash. Delete….

### 2/5 — Ads make it unuasae

*2026-07-06, version 3.1.13*

I Understand the need to make money if you need ads, allow their user to get through the ads the ads as they are written now make it impossible to use the app.
I would buy the app if I could, but I do not want to pay for another subscription as I hardly would use this

### 1/5 — Aggressive pop ups make it impossible to use

*2026-07-01, version 3.1.13*

Every time I tried to navigate from one page to another, long video pop up ads ran and I’d have to wait until it finished, wait until an x appeared faintly so I could move on. Useless. Deleted it.

### 1/5 — Very Misleading Thanks to Ads

*2026-06-29, version 3.1.13*

I understand app developers need advertisers for funding, but this app is outrageously full with ads that will trick you into choosing the marketing links before you find what you need. The information in this app is very valuable, but before you reach the desired content, you have to go through so many marketing links. It is impossible not to click on these links even if you use this app regularly. They deliberately make dood links almost invisible and with extremely small letters on corners that I find very challenging.

### 1/5 — Too Many Pop Up Ads

*2026-06-28, version 3.1.13*

It’s impossible to use efficiently and quickly due to the innumerable pop up ads. One pop up per log in is enough. A pop up ad with every shift in the same session is way too much.

### 1/5 — terrible

*2026-06-26, version 3.1.13*

much like the dc metro itself. this once was a good app but now too much lagging and ads

### 2/5 — The Ads are awful

*2026-06-26, version 3.1.13*

Way too many pop ups. By the time you get to the actual bus timetables, the bus has arrived so there’s no need

### 1/5 — Too many spam app to get simple info, deleting it

*2026-06-25, version 3.1.13*

Too many spam app to get simple info, deleting it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Shameless use of ads

*2026-08-24, version 3.1.13*

Garbage app that uses minute long ads or ads with no time limit and no exit button. You're basically telling people there's no limited free option. I wouldn't waste my money on the premium version of an app that uses such sleazy tactics. Would give -5 stars if I could.

### 1/5 — Too many ads

*2026-08-15, version 3.1.13*

The ads are preventing my ability to use this app.

### 1/5 — Ads

*2026-08-12, version 3.1.13*

I had this app for many years! But it’s WAAY too many ads now. I don’t have time trying to close out ads while I’m trying to look at my bus/train. Fix this!

### 1/5 — Too many ads

*2026-08-11, version 3.1.13*

If you don’t plan on purchasing the app, then don’t bother. You have unskippable ads that take a minute to clear and I don’t have time for that while catching trains.

### 1/5 — Ridiculous

*2026-08-09, version 3.1.13*

There are unbearable ads. It’s embarrassing how bad it is.

### 1/5 — Ad-Supported? For a Service I Already Pay For?

*2026-08-07, version 3.1.13*

WMATA Sold Its Riders to Advertisers
One star, and that’s generous. This is the app for a PUBLIC transit system I already pay for — through my fare and my tax dollars — and somehow that wasn’t enough for you. You looked at riders standing on a platform, just trying to find out when the next train comes, and you saw ad inventory. That’s it. That’s what we are to you now: eyeballs to be sold.
Checking a train time is not a premium feature. It is the entire reason this app exists. Walling it behind an ad is like a library charging you to open a book you already bought. WMATA didn’t run out of money and get creative — WMATA sold out. You took a service the public funds and rented it back to us with commercials, then had the nerve to call it an app.
Nobody opens a transit app to get marketed to. We open it because we’re late, it’s cold, and we need to know if we sprint or wait. And you decided that moment — that exact moment of need — was the perfect time to make a buck off us. Shameless.
Fix it or make the ads optional. Until then I’ll use anything else, and so should everyone reading this.

### 1/5 — Ads

*2026-08-06, version 3.1.13*

Just Ads. I can’t even close out of the ads after they’re done and have to force close the app.

### 1/5 — Ads are too long

*2026-08-04, version 3.1.13*

The ads are way too long, sometimes over a minute or two each. You can’t even close out of them once they’re done. You have to force quit and reopen the app to see the bus times.

### 1/5 — The ads are infuriating

*2026-07-31, version 3.1.13*

This app requires you to view multiple pop-up ads before accessing any useful information, so this is horrible in time sensitive situations (e.g., rushing to catch the bus in the morning).

### 1/5 — Ads

*2026-07-28, version 3.1.13*

Horrible user experience with ads

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Options

*2026-06-09, version 3.1.13*

Bus stop option needs to be returned. Shouldn’t have to scroll down to find a specific location to get the arrival time

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-05-25, version 3.1.13*

The app was extremely to use and I will recommend to anyone.

### 5/5 — Bus and subway

*2026-04-27, version 3.1.12*

Look at lines and bus routes

### 5/5 — Red Line

*2026-04-27, version 3.1.12*

Consistent Great Job !

### 5/5 — Bus 29N, Bus 29G- Lawson the bus driver

*2025-05-15*

As tourists in the Alexandra/Washington DC area, we were testing out routes to get to sites. We hoped on Bus 29N first and met a wonderful driver. He was friendly and helped us navigate your system. The next day we were trying another route, 29G, and low and behold the driver was the sane as the day before. His name is Lawson. He needs to be commended for his friendliness and helpfulness. He is an ambassador fir your Metro system.

### 5/5 — All Weekends I will be there always

*2024-12-03, version 2.7.1*

Ryuzo kambe

### 5/5 — Great bus drivers!

*2024-11-14*

I take Metrobus 38B round trip Arlington /DC. Its route through Georgetown & GWU has many visitors from out of town including those seeking medical evaluation. The bus drivers are uniformly knowledgeable, helpful & efficient. Their patience with people who are overwhelmed by the traffic, schedules of different transportation options is above what I have observed in many cities in US & abroad.
My 1st difficulty in more than a decade using Metro bus & train was last evening (Wed 11/12) at 8 pm. I went into Clarendon Metro station to check on time it opened since I had an appointment at 7:15 am & Metro website says individual stations may have different opening & closing times.
The kiosk had a msg card stating the Metro station attendant was away & would retuned shortly. I waited for 45 min. & finally returned home & took my chances with the am train. It worked out OK in spite of a separate incident leading to Metro police arriving & train stopped for almost 10 min. Staff were so calm during entire incident.
Metro & ARL do a great job. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Review 😀

*2024-07-05, version 2.7.1*

Excepciónal :)

### 5/5 — Format Probs

*2023-08-04*

I have only had a problem with the “ghost busses” a couple times thankfully but the main problem is the ads.
I get it, you have to have ads if you want the app to remain “free”. It’s annoying especially when you’re in a hurry, but whatever.
But oh my god, the little X at the top right corner to exit the ads is so close we can barely click on it. I get irate every time. If they could at least make it to where the ad goes away after a few seconds or at least just move it down and away from the edge of the screen. Because now is not the time I’m wanting or willing to succumb to an ad, let me find my bus.

### 5/5 — Missing Bus Route W8

*2023-05-03*

Dear Developer,
When I downloaded this app a few years back, the bus route for the W8 schedule was available to view. I am not sure what happened, but now the bus route has disappeared. I typed W8 route in the search engine of the app and the route directions does not appear. It only appears for the W6 route instead. As a disabled rider with mobility issues the W8 bus stops in front of the building I reside in. Since being disabled I have to come to rely on this bus and rail to get to and from where I need to go on a weekly basis. Rectifying this issue would be beneficial to my neighbors as well as others that utilize this bus route for their needs as well. Thank you.
