If you live in the DC area and use the metro, get this app! It basically shows you what the platform sign shows when the trains are arriving. Perfect for timming a train and not having to wait long times!! For everyone complaining about it not working in the station.....your standing infront of the actual sign!! Look up and it will tell you when the next train is arriving! 5 stars if the designers can implement delays into the app although the signs should update I guess. If I could give it 0 stars I would. ### 1/5 — Forces firmware update! *2011-04-21, version 1.0.4* For various reasons, I do not wish to update my firmware from 4.2.1 to 4.3. This app won't sync to my phone because it says that a newer version of firmware is REQUIRED for the app to be installed. I own hundreds of apps, and none of them have ever released an update without backward compatibility, let alone compatibility with firmware that is one generation back. PLEASE FIX; Apple doesn't require firmware updates for the phone to function, so why does the developer of this app? ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Useful *2023-01-14, version 1.0.12* This has always been a reliable and great app. I have used it for years. I too hope it gets updated to include the new Silver line extensions. ### 5/5 — Silver Line Extension *2022-11-22, version 1.0.12* What a great app, I love seeing the arrivals and departures of each train for the stations I use frequently. I do recommend updating the app as the silver line extension is now open which makes the map inaccurate as travelers can’t view the new 6 stations on the map. Please update the app and map as soon as possible to get top performance for the app. Overall, great job. Use the Favorites function to save the stations you use frequently, and you can time your departures from home, work, the bar, etc. so you never have to wait for a train again! For those complaining that it doesn't work underground, that's AT&T's issue: Verizon has an exclusive agreement with WMATA for cell service underground.
