I believe the current design adjusts the surrounding space to black or white based on the color around each panel on the page, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds it distracting when the background repeatedly switches from black to white and back again. I strongly prefer a consistent black background around the panels, as the bright white background can be uncomfortable for my eyes. For accessibility and user preference, please consider adding options for black or white backgrounds in panel by panel mode. Kindle offers a similar option for comics in its panel by panel Guided View, which makes for a much more comfortable reading experience. Adding this feature would make the app 5/5 stars for me. ### 4/5 — Good app but a couple notes *2026-08-17, version 26.5.0* They need to make it so for one, when you press on a dive back in comic it pops up with the issue description and option to look at the whole series. They also should make it so when you in the comic you have a quick option to select any issue within the series quickly. The search could also use a few improvements. I say this because I find it incredibly annoying when I want to go back to the previous issue, but instead of just quickly selecting it from the comic I have to go to the search bar, find the series again and find the issue I was on. ### 2/5 — Can’t subscribe… can’t read anything *2026-08-09, version 26.4.2* Used to love this app but when it came time to resubscribe I get an error message “Product not found in App Store catalog” o.O *sigh* Back to good ol’ paper comix ### 2/5 — Not a lot of creeper *2026-08-08, version 26.4.2* When I got this I thought I was gonna be able to read all the comics with my favourite character the creeper in them only to find out a whole bunch of his series are missing and the only ones there are the 1 issues of his million and the rest are the version where’s he’s in Paris and is a woman I don’t mind them but more variety was expected from something call dc universe INFINITE ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work with panel to panel *2026-08-06, version 26.4.2* When I enable panel to panel, it becomes frustratingly inconsistent, trying to get to the next panel. It doesn’t let me swipe it for some reason. Instead, the only thing that seems to work sometimes is tapping on the edge of the comic panel to move it to the next one, but even that spotty at best. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling. I’ve tried restarting my phone. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in with no luck still the same issue. I’m not sure why this happens because it also does it on my iPad as well. If they rectify it it’s easily a 5 out of 5 ### 2/5 — New update makes reading near impossible on iPad M1 Pro *2026-06-27, version 26.3.1* My previous review was four stars for lack of arrow navigation. They finally added it, except either form of navigation now only works about half the time. It was buttery smooth before this update. I wish I could just read on my iPad on the web, but there’s just a constant banner telling me to use the broken app. ### 2/5 — Downloading Doesn't Work *2026-06-19, version 26.3.1* As someone who uses trains and planes a lot, meaning I often don't have internet, it's extremely frustrating that the download feature on DC Universe Infinite is so completely useless. Even comics that are marked as downloaded won't load when you try to open them, and then when you close them they'll reveal that they were still in the process of downloading. Then that download will just stop for no discernible reason. This is true across different generations of iPhone and iPad apps; it seems to be a fundamental issue across the app. ### 3/5 — deleted downloads *2026-06-18, version 26.3.1* every other update deletes my downloaded comics and i have to download comics to read since this app just isn’t very good/fast with streaming the comics like other comic reading apps ### 3/5 — Decent *2026-06-12, version 26.3.0* A very good app, especially for people that are getting into comics. The comics are easy to read and there is a lot of content available. The app itself works pretty well across iPhone and iPad. Yet I’m going to hold off using it further as I just can’t justify the subscription price be it at the lower or higher tier. Over on the manga side for example, Shonen Jump and the Viz Media subscriptions cost like $6-$7 combined. You get a lot of manga and are getting new releases basically everyday. To get the most out of just this one comics app, you got to pay either around 7 or 15 a month or like 70ish or 120 for a year. That’s just an insane price compared to other services imo. Not to mention I got a subscription for a year and it only counted for a couple months before I lost access to them completely, so I wouldn’t even risk buying a subscription since they might just take it away. Debatably worse they will change the tier of the book you’re currently reading so you will just lose access to it halfway through. I’m extremely disappointed to have to rate this as low as I did because I used to love this app. ### 1/5 — Almost Useless *2026-08-15, version 26.5.0* I love DC. I love DC much more than I love Marvel. But Marvel Unlimited’s app *works.* Therefore, I’m subscribing to them and cancelling my subscription to DC Universe Infinite. So much content. I’m reading several Batman series at the moment, getting into the Absolute universe, and just adding comic after comic to my “to read” list. So overall an easy recommendation, if you’re sick of watching mediocre stuff on streaming, cancel a service and give this a shot. Feels way more satisfying to support these artists and storytellers.
